* ShoutOut: Robo and Mobo have made a handful of cameos outside their home game:
** In Episode 9 of Anime/HisCooolSeHaGirls, the girls find the Bonanzas in a tavern and attempt to hire them to assist in collecting Spirit Stones needed for medals. Robo and Mobo don't accept the job, as they're only there to attempt a dine-and-dash (which is thwarted as meals require an upfront ticket).
** The now-defunct Sega Splash! Golf featured usable golf clubs modeled after Robo, Mobo, a blue guard and a riot shield guard.
** In & VideoGame/ShenmueII, there are three capsule toys based on the game you can collect; Robo slipping on a banana peel, Mobo with a bag of stuff, and the Bros. together holding their guns.

** As mentioned above, the Bonanza Bros. drive together as a playable character in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, and appear in the sequel's final track as hologram statues.

The premise of the game is simple. Each stage begins with the robbers, named Robo and Mobo, looking at a projector screen. Once getting an overview of their target, they break in and rob the place blind. However, each building is armed with security officers ready to arrest them. If they are caught, or take too long, the brothers are sent up the river.

The game premiered as an arcade game, but was later ported to other consoles. The MegaDrive version has been bundled in many compilations, as well as downloadable on the Virtual Console. Two spin-offs of the game were created, both labeled "Puzzle & Action". As their name suggests, they both were puzzle games.

Bonanza Bros. is a PlatformGame by Creator/Sega, released in 1990. In an interesting twist, instead of trying to stop criminals, the player characters are criminals.

The brothers made a surprise appearance in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, driving a black getaway car. The duo appear as statues in the game's sequel, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed.

!! Tropes found in this game include
* AttackItsWeakPoint: The riot shield guards can only be shot in the back.
* BashBrothers: Although they tend to assist in stealth more than fighting, in Co-Op, expect the Bros. to be doing double damage.
* Bowdlerise: Outside Japan, the Bros. are not criminals. The police chief of Badville, a city plagued with high crime, hires the brothers to help him. Their job is to test his security forces, as well as recover evidence.
** As of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, this has been retconned, so now they are internationally considered Villain Protagonists.
* TheCasino: The third level.
* ContinuityNod: The duo's bio in All-Stars Racing says they like solving puzzles, referring to the Puzzle & Action games.
* CoversAlwaysLie: Despite the artwork above, in-game Robo and Mobo are clearly robots.
* TheDoorSlamsYou: An easy way to stop a guard or for a guard to stop you.
* DubInducedPlothole: In the U.S. version, the boys are still sent to prison, even though they're helping the police.
* EvilLaugh: When they get some treasure.
* GiantMook: The large, purple-clad guards.
* IdleAnimation: Both brothers have a few: Impatiently staring at the screen, sprucing themselves with a mirror, or swatting flies.
* MeaningfulName: The city of Badville, where this game takes place. The Ultimate Genesis Collection description of the game even points out the unfortunate name.
* OneHitPointWonder: Robo and Mobo can only take a single hit.
* Villain Protagonists: According to the SegaSuperstars bio.
