* WhatCouldHaveBeen: ''Windows In The Jungle'' was originally supposed to contain a much heavier ProgressiveRock influence, with Eric Stewart saying he wanted it to have "epic musical suites like 'Une Nuit A Paris' and 'Feel The Benefit'". Alas, this didn't come to fruition as the record company [[ExecutiveMeddling wanted the album to be as accessible as possible]].

to:

* ThrowItIn: About half of the production of "I'm Not in Love" was a result of these. The instrumental backing track was intended to be merely a guide while the band put their choir samples together, but the band loved how it worked with the choir so much that they kept it. Likewise, Eric Stewart's lead vocal was originally just intended to be a guide vocal, but again, the band liked it too much to throw it out. The "Be quiet, big boys don't cry" part, spoken by the band's secretary Kathy Redfern, was added almost entirely on a whim - Lol Creme had wanted to add it, but didn't have any idea who should speak it until Redfern came in and whispered, "Eric, sorry to bother you; there's a phone call for you." Creme immediately said her voice was perfect, and the band coaxed her into recording the part using the same whispered voice.

* The band had three #1 hits in the UK, each with a different member singing lead: "Rubber Bullets" sung by Lol Creme, "I'm Not In Love" by Eric Stewart, and "Dreadlock Holiday" by Graham Gouldman. Kevin Godley was the only member not to, although he did sing lead most of the songs released as Godley and Creme.

** 10cc was just one facet of Graham Gouldman's career. He first gained success in TheSixties as a songwriter ([[Music/TheYardbirds "For Your Love", "Heart Full of Soul"]], [[Music/TheHollies "Look Through Any Window", "Bus Stop"]], [[Music/HermansHermits "Listen People", "No Milk Today"]]), then also led his own band The ~Mockingbirds, and even released a solo album in 1968 (''The Graham Gouldman Thing'', co-produced by [[Music/LedZeppelin John Paul Jones]]). Then he wrote and recorded a bunch of songs for American bubblegum rock bands like The Ohio Express (which marked the first recordings that the classic 10cc lineup worked on together). After 10cc's success cooled off, he did more solo work, formed the duo Wax with Andrew Gold, and did some production work, most notably the ''Pleasant Dreams'' album for Music/TheRamones in 1981. He even did the songs for the animated film ''WesternAnimation/{{Animalympics}}''.

* During the classic lineup, each UK single took care to have every band member represented across both sides to ensure royalties for all. Only one release, "Art For Art's Sake," broke this streak by having two Gouldman/Stewart songs.

** Along with their post-10cc music career, Godley & Creme were prolific music video directors in TheEighties and TheNineties.

to:

** Godley, Creme and Stewart had a hit as Hotlegs with a song called "Neanderthal Man." Initially just a recorded drum experiment, a visiting record executive declared it a hit and gave them the money to record it. Gouldman later contributed bass to a final recording, "Today."
** Along with their post-10cc music career, Godley & Creme were prolific music video directors in TheEighties and TheNineties. They also recorded in a few pre-10cc groups, such as duo Frabjoy & Runcible Spoon and the Yellow Bellow Room Boom.

Trope misuse. Creator Breakdown is about when the creator's real-life hardships are integrated into their work, in terms of how their art is expressed (where it usually becomes darker as a result). Moving this into a miscellaneous trivia section below.
