Per a number of discussions and requests (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/query.php?parent_id=88165&type=att, https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/remarks.php?trope=Franchise.ShinMegamiTenseiPersona, https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=j51x8blwkxfqfunro3hx3vd2, etc.), and given the fact Atlus Japan has never used the “Shin Megami Tensei” label for this franchise, and even Atlus West has only called it “Persona” since 2012, migrating Video Game.Persona pages to VideoGame.Persona 1 (a la VideoGame.Mass Effect 1, VideoGame.Super Mario Bros 1, etc.) and Franchise. Shin Megami Tensei Persona pages to Franchise.Persona, and redirecting all wicks.

* NamesTheSame: Over the course of the series, only two Persona have been shared by different characters: Prometheus, the Ultimate Persona of both Baofu and Futaba Sakura, and Nemesis, the initial Persona of Ken Amada and minor antagonist Michiko Matsudaira, both Persona originating from Myth/ClassicalMythology. However, while the name and mythologies of the shared Persona are the same, their designs, abilities, and roles are very different.
* NoPortForYou: The series was exclusive to [=PlayStation=] systems, with notable exceptions:
** In the mainline series, there is a Japan-only PC port of the first game, and a worldwide PC port of VideoGame/Persona4 Golden.
** The spin-offs VideoGame/PersonaQShadowOfTheLabyrinth and its sequel VideoGame/PersonaQ2NewCinemaLabyrinth, which are exclusive to the UsefulNotes/Nintendo3DS and have the gameplay and visual style of the VideoGame/EtrianOdyssey series; the fighting game VideoGame/Persona4Arena and its sequel, which both received UsefulNotes/Xbox360 releases as well; and the ActionRPG spinoff VideoGame/Persona5ScrambleThePhantomStrikers, which had a release on the UsefulNotes/NintendoSwitch.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** Fuuka and Ken's original English voice actors are currently unknown. Creator/WendeeLee became Fuuka's voice actress starting from VideoGame/Persona4Arena, and Creator/CindyRobinson took over as Ken from VideoGame/Persona4ArenaUltimax and onwards.
** Tracey Rooney and Creator/DaveWittenberg voiced Chie and Teddie respectively in the original VideoGame/Persona4, but were replaced in all installments afterward by Creator/ErinFitzgerald and Creator/SamRiegel respectively.
** Creator/LauraBailey got to voice Rise in every installment sans Dancing All Night, where she was voiced by Creator/AshlyBurch.
** Creator/DanWoren reprised his role as Igor in all installments up to Arena Ultimax, where he was replaced with Creator/VicMignogna, and later Creator/KirkThornton (although, the first fighting game merely featured reused voice lines for Igor's dialouge).
** Creator/AnnaGraves voiced Naoto in every installment until Anime/Persona4TheAnimation, where she was replaced by Creator/MaryElizabethMcGlynn. Graves did reprise her role in Golden, but afterwards they were subsequently replaced with Valerie Arem starting from VideoGame/Persona4ArenaUltimax onwards.
** Creator/TroyBaker voiced Kanji for most installments, being replaced with Creator/MatthewMercer for roughly half of Anime/Persona4TheAnimation and every installment thereafter.
** Creator/MiyuMatsuki and Creator/KazunariTanaka were the original voices of Chihaya Mifune and Junya Kaneshiro until their passing. They were replaced by Creator/HarukaTerui and Takahiro Fujimoto respectively in the anime adaptation and Royal, the latter of which was dedicated to Matsuki and Tanaka's memories.
** Kirsten Potter was replaced by Creator/AbbyTrott as Tae Takemi in the English dub of Royal. According to Creator/LauraPost, Potter had moved away and couldn't reprise her role.
* UpliftedSideStory: The Persona series is a downplayed example: having started out as a spin-off of the Franchise/ShinMegamiTensei series, it has reached equal heights (especially in the West) without fully eclipsing the original games, which are still going strong.
