* GodNeverSaidThat: A particularly widespread rumor in the fandom is that originally, the DistantFinale's couples would include TK/Kari and Izzy/Mimi along with the canon Sora/Matt and Ken/Yolei. The fans who talked about this kept citing an alleged interview with someone who worked on the show, but no evidence of that interview has been found.

* RetroactiveRecognition: Creator/RomiPark as Ken/The Digimon Emperor, three years before her breakout role as Edward Elric in ''Anime/FullmetalAlchemist2003''.

* FakeBrit: While not actually British, being a Digimon and all, Hawkmon has a British accent in the English dub, while his voice actor, Creator/NeilKaplan, is American.

* TalkingToHimself:
** In the original, Ken and his brother both are voiced by Creator/RomiPark, who spends the entirety of episode 23 doing this (as the episode focuses on Ken and his past with his brother).
** Not the only example of a Chosen Child and their sibling(s): having the same seiyū: Miyako/Yolei and her sisters (Momoe and Chizuru) are all voiced by Creator/RioNatsuki.
** In the original Japanese version, Creator/MegumiUrawa voices both Iori/Cody and his partner Armadimon. This is the first, and to date only, time that a Chosen Child and their Digimon partner have been voiced by the same person. In the English dub, Cody is voiced by Creator/PhileceSampler, who also voices Mimi.
** In English, Creator/DerekStephenPrince does the voices of both Ken and Veemon. The trope gets played as early as episode 2, when the Emperor taunts the captured Digimon.
** Yolei's dub actress Tifanie Christun also voices Biyomon.
** In the Swedish dub, both Ken and Matt are voiced by Leo Hallerstam. Which proves amusing in the World Tour Episode.
** In both the original Japanese and the Latin American dub, Mummymon, Belial Vamdemon and Yukio Oikawa all share the same voice actors. You need to listen very carefully to hear any resemblance between the three characters' voices.

* MarthDebutedInSmashBros: In North America, ''Anime/DigimonTheMovie'' was released before Raidramon's debut episode aired on Fox Kids.

** In episode 43, Bridget Hoffman filled in for Tifanie Christun as Yolei. In the same episode, for one line only, Wendee Lee doubled for Sora, who is mainly voiced by Creator/ColleenOShaughnessey.

** Laura Summer voiced Noriko in her brief appearance at the end of episode 41, but Creator/BridgetHoffman voiced her in all subsequent episodes.

** In episode 43, Bridget Hoffman filled in for Tifanie Christun as Yolei. In the same episode, for one line only, Wendee Lee doubled for Sora, who is mainly voiced by Colleen O'Shaughnessey.
** Anna Garduno, the voice of Palmon, was replaced towards the end of the series since Anna was commuting from New York by that time. Philece Sampler, the voice of Palmon's partner Mimi, voiced Palmon in episode 47; Dorothy Elias-Fahn, who voiced Palmon's ultimate form Lillymon, took over as Palmon for episode 50; the finale of the series.

** For ''Revenge of Diaboromon'', Creator/JasonSpisak replaced Joshua Seth as Tai Kamiya and Bridget Hoffman replaced Laura Summer as Patamon. These were the only major instances of the trope despite ''Adventure 02'' having finished airing four years before '''and''' Saban Entertainment no longer being involved in the dubbing. It's an ActorAllusion in Hoffman's case because she voiced Patamon in ''Anime/DigimonFrontier''.
** There were a few cases of Digimon who had only one line in the movie (i.e., Gabumon, Hawkmon) where Jeff Nimoy impersonated the actor, simply because the budget wasn't big enough to bring Kirk Thornton or Neil Kaplan for a single line each.

** On the other side of the Pacific, dub writers and voice directors Jeff Nimoy and Bob Buchholz were instructed by Fox Kids to make the series "funnier" which annoyed a lot of fans. Eventually Jeff and Bob left the show due to frustrations with Fox's demands. Fox Kids must have backed off afterward because the final eight episodes of the season and [[Anime/DigimonTamers the following season]] were noticeably less of a GagDub.

* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: Taking place in 2002, personal computers are expensive commodities that are not ubiquitous in every home, as the new Digidestined require access to their school's computer lab to access the Digital World for a sizeable part of the series, and Yamato/Matt's father balks at being asked to buy one. One might have one in a home office, but they were still a serious investment. As home personal computers got cheaper and more common, it's easy to forget that access to the internet was once more difficult.

** Because Jeff Nimoy left the show due to ExecutiveMeddling, R. Martin Klein took over as Tentomon for the last few episodes. This also resulted in Creator/SteveBlum replacing the former's role as Gennai in the final episode.
