* CultureClash: Ultraman X is very perplexed by how gender roles work on Earth (especially in Japan, which has more traditional ones) and has no idea that asking a woman her weight or age can be considered rude, and questioning about such things leads to a bit of this between him and Daichi. Considering Ultras can [[SizeShifter change their size at will]] and live for hundreds of thousands of years, this is completely logical. In addition, WordOfGod has said in the past that Ultras have no concept of there being a difference between genders.

'''''Ultraman X''''' is the 2015 entry in the long-running ''Franchise/UltraSeries''.

Two mysterious balls of light- one red, the other purple - fight throughout the Solar System. Their battle takes them to the sun, where the red light manages to knock out his opponent into the star. However, this causes a reaction, with blows away the victor and creates the powerful solar flares dubbed the Ultra Flares. The energy from them causes the Spark Dolls, miniature figurines containing giant monsters, to materialize in full form and spreading destruction across the Earth.

Fifteen years later, in order to combat the monster threats, a new team called Xio was formed. Daichi Ozora, who lost both of his parents during the Ultra Flare incident, is a member of Xio's R&D team and sometimes field agent. He hopes that mankind and the monsters could live together with harmony, but that dream seems so faraway at the moment. During the rampage of a particularly powerful monster, Daichi comes into contact with a mysterious energy being. He fuses with him, becoming the new Giant of Light, Ultraman X!

The series is being simulcast worldwide just as it airs in Japan on [[http://www.crunchyroll.com/ultraman-x Crunchyroll]], making it the first {{Toku}} show in history to ever do that.

!!Recurring Ultraman tropes include:

* HomeBase: Xio's base of operations, with, of course, is shaped like a giant X.
* {{Kaiju}}: It ''IS'' an Ultraman series, after all.
!!Unite!
* CoolCar: The Xio teams utilizes three of them, all named after the ''Literature/TheThreeMusketeers''. They can combine with the Xio Musketty to form various combat vehicles.
%%** Xio Athos -
%%** Xio Porthos -
%%** Xio Aramis -
