History Series / Phenomena

As of the 4th of November, it has been seen attending AFM 2015.

Tropes that can be seen so far:

* BornInTheWrongCentury: the promotion poster which looks like it's for a corny fantasy movies/TV-series from the 90s, even the logo. It doesn't make it nostalgia fuel though as no one really misses those.
* GISSyndrome: most of the promotion poster is clearly this, including that the knight with the flaming sword is the same as the one on the VideoGame/DragonAgeInquisition cover.
* HandicappedBadass: seemingly what they tried to make Alk due to the burns on the right side of his face.
* ShapeShifter: what they turned [[TalkingAnimal Arol]] into to to not to have a too high of a budget.
* WrongGenreSavvy: Yes it's a fantasy, yes it has dragons, but dragons in Phenomena aren't evil, even though the creators of the poster seemingly thought so.

* FantasyAxisOfEvil: what the mortokks seemingly are, when in the books they are BarbarianTribe and a [[ProudWarriorRaceGuy Proud Warrior Race]] more than anything rather than outright evil.

* RuinedFOREVER: what fans thought when they saw the promotion poster and description.

* WrongGenreSavvy: Yes it's a fantasy, yes it has dragons, but dragons in Phenomena aren't evil, even though the creators of the poster seemingly thought so.
* XMeetsY: the tagline describes it as 'Literature/HungerGames meets Literature/TheHobbit', neither which really fit to describe Phenomena.

* ClicheStorm: the first Phenomena book showed traces of this, making it seem like the books has BlackAndWhiteMorality when it reality has more like BlackAndGrayMorality, and the description only adapted the BlackAndWhiteMorality.

* MisaimedFandom: what seemingly half the fandom wanted was an AnimatedAdaptation, about half of them wanted it to be animated by ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'', other half it to become an {{Anime}} series the same way ''Anime/AfroSamurai'' and ''Anime/FirstSquad'' got theirs, and the last few 3D animation by the people who were fired from Creator/DreamWorksAnimation when ''WesternAnimation/RiseOfTheGuardians'' flopped.

* VisualEffectsOfAwesome: what probably [[http://magicworx.com/ Magic Worx]] is there for, but having a hard time getting a higher budget does it only making Ilke blue and some ice magic will be done...
* WhatTheHellCastingAgency: The actors/models neither look, are the right age nor fit to play [[KidHero Alk and Ilke]]. Yes, it's happily only a promotion poster and those aren't going to be the characters in the final product.

* DawsonCasting: the models on the poster are much older than Alk and Ilke that are supposed to be ''10'' in the beginning.

* AscendedFanon: WordOfSaintPaul found it interesting when a fan pointed out that Ilke is AmbiguouslyBi and might add it as canon to the TV-series. No news was given other than a short and still unupdated synopsis on [[http://filmedimagination.com/projects/phenomena.html Filmed Imagination]] and some posters on their Website/{{Facebook}} [[https://www.facebook.com/filmedimagination page]]. Until 2013 that is, when the account [[https://twitter.com/PhenomenaWriter Phenomena Writer]] appeared on Website/{{Twitter}}. He [[WordOfGod announced]] that he wanted it to be a [[LiveActionTV Live Action TV-series]]. After much development it tried to gain funds on [[http://www.americanfilmmarket.com/ American Film Market]] in 2014 with no luck, in 2015 they tried again on [[http://www.festival-cannes.com/ the film festival in Cannes]] with a description and promotion poster this time, due to no news does it seem like this was a failed attempt as well. Probably because of both the bad promotion poster and bad description of the series making it only to seem to be a ClicheStorm. After now 3-4 years of development can one say it has entered DevelopmentHell, for the fans at least.
