* SpotlightStealingSquad: Despite being a guest star that arrived in the later half of the season, Blaine got a significant number of solos (around 9), which makes him have the 2nd highest number of solos, with only Rachel having more, with around 12 solos. This is in comparison to characters like Finn had 3 solos, Tina had 1, while Quinn had none.

* AdultsAreUseless: To an extent. The adults do nothing about bullying at McKinley (although this is TruthInTelevision), and even Will passively permits this. The school board dismisses the claim [[spoiler: of Karofsky's death threat and only give him a verbal warning]].

* LightFeminineAndDarkFeminine: '''(Male example)''' Blaine Anderson (Light) and Kurt Hummel (Dark). Blaine is kind, nurturing, generous, and little oblivious, Kurt is prissy, bitchy, arrogant, entitled, self-absorbed.

* BlueBishonenGhetto: The Dalton Warblers. Nearly all of them are straight-up {{Bishonen}}, and the ones who aren't are handsome nonetheless.

** How is it that Blaine has not been mentioned yet? This troper knows for a fact that many girls started watching the show after Darren Criss jined the cast.

*** Setting aside the fact that Principle Figgins is the veritable embodiment of AdultsAreUseless and the general GayAesop in play here, this also served as a PlotDevice for a couple of other things. First, and most obviously, it provided a reason for Kurt to have his big dance with Blaine rather than Karofsky (and perhaps extend the Karofsky storyline into Season Three). Secondly, the prom was supposed to end at 10:00PM, and Sue believed that by holding Artie in her office until then she had managed to deny his openly-stated (to her annoyance) deepest desire: a dance with Brittany. Because Kurt ran out and the whole prom was held up until he came back, it ran overtime and Artie does in the end get to dance with Brittany.

* AllAsiansAreAlike: Seems to be a running gag with Mike and Tina. They got together at Asian Camp and in "Duets", after they started arguing, Mike says they "should go to Asian couples therapy". [[LampshadeHanging Tina wonders why it has to be Asian.]] Furthermore, they are able to find out that Rachel gave Sunshine directions to a crackhouse for auditions because the "Asian community is very tight-knit." Sunshine is Filipino while Mike and Tina are either Korean or Chinese (based on their surnames), two communities that generally have little in common.

** In "Rocky Horror Glee Show", Will objects to Figgins punishing Finn for walking around the school in his Rocky Horror costume (Underwear and glasses) saying that when Santana "pantsed" Brittany, she was showing [[IfYouKnowWhatIMean a lot less than her underwear]]. Figgins said that that was in a moment of celebration.

** The Glee Club's performance of "Push It" at the assembly is much more... [[IfYouKnowWhatIMean exciting]] than the disco routine that was originally planned.

** Definitely in "Journey", when ''[[TheLibby Santana]]'' is crying at the thought of the group breaking up.
