** And finally, the rule of "only characters that appeared in a Nintendo console can be apped" being removed for 24 hours, allowing any kinds of characters from any types of media to be apped, such hilarious examples include: Franchise/HarryPotter, [[Franchise/DragonBall Krillin,]] [[VideoGame/EpicMickey Oswald the Lucky Rabbit,]] [[UncannyValley Bad Box Art Megaman,]] [[WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender Wang Fire]] and [[GodModeSue Gokurisakigo Lufyto.]]

* UpToEleven: Sometimes fights, missions and even normal and happy events can take a turn to the downright crazy and intense sometimes.

** While he doesn't outright say it, Ecolo's reason he's on the heroes side is because of an attempt to atone for his evil misdeeds in his homeworld. (read: an universal apocalypse)

* DarkerAndEdgier: Li is plagued with a virus that that transforms people into mindless creatures. With no cure in sight, everyone stays in a giant sphere shelter to get avoid getting infected...however there's worry about the possibility of a shield protecting the shelter breaking, which would cause the virus will get in and infect everyone. And that's not even going the times where characters can get mortally wounded and possibly ''killed before they can become trophies...'' [[BlatantLies Boy, this planet sure sounds like a great place to live in.]]

** Princess Peach plays this straight, using magical pink hearts in a similar fashion to the way many characters use explosions. Often times, if an approach to attacking an enemy isn't working in her favor, Peach will add hearts to the equation.

* LegionOfDoom: The Order of Despair, The Pollies, and The New Pigmask Army are this...and they're still around until today.

* PungeonMaster: Hades, Henry and Jedah really love to do these...much to the other characters' chargin.

* YouTasteDelicious: Played straight with the character Arle Nadja. She has a strong curry scent and taste explained as being a consequence of her obsession with the spice. Apparently she gets it all over herself on a regular basis, inadvertantly convincing every monster in a mile radius to try and take a bite out of her wherever she goes. Arle herself is decidedly not in on the joke.

* StandardStatusEffects: Some enemies can give players status effects, most of them being burned, having a Flower stuck in your head that gives you damage each turn, frozen, become bigger (not really an enemy's fault), turn into metal, shrink, become paralysed, get poisoned, become sick, fall asleep, become slower or become infected with a virus that is not Starvia... enemies can also copy moves or won't let you use them for a number of turns.

* AllTheWorldsAreAStage:
** Some important places from Nintendo games appear on LI, however many of them are filled with Starvia or are abandoned.
** That being said, there ''are'' places with natural wildlife, such as the Pokémon Cove and Star Piece Meadow, for instance.

* AnIcePerson: Rundas, just like in [[VideoGame/MetroidPrime3Corruption his home game]]

* BigBad: [[spoiler:Black Shadow.]]

* WhatTheHellHero: Mario and Sonic's plans about what to do on LI caused most residents of the Life Sphere to have this reaction, Samus however...[[TakeAThirdOption is neutral on the matter.]]
