At the Neptune Grand, Dick gets into the elevator, which already has a few others going to prom. Just as the doors are about to close, Madison steps in. He tries coming on to her, but she ignores him. Just as the doors are about to close, Veronica comes in with Wallace, Jackie, Mac and Vincent. Veronica tries to compliment Mac, but she still wants to kill Veronica and make it look like an accident. Just as the doors are about to close, Corny comes in, along with another couple. Finally, the elevator closes and goes up. Vincent starts babbling about the space elevator that's being built while everyone looks at him like he's nuts. When the doors open at Logan's floor, Mac and Madison say simultaneously, "[[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments Thank God]]," and hurriedly walk out.

Meanwhile, at the sheriff's department, Keith and Lucky are in a cell together, still cuffed together. Keith asks Lucky about what he was saying about Woody, but when Lucky seems he's about to answer, Lamb comes in, and tries but fails to open the cuffs with the keys he has. Lamb says, "What are you looking at, nutjob?" Keith tells Lamb to take it easy on Lucky, but Lamb snarls he wasn't talking to Lucky, and storms off.

Meanwhile, back at the Neptune Grand, while Wallace and Jackie slow-dance, Vincent confesses to Mac that he knows how awkward it is for her, but he just wants to be his own weird self, and he thinks Mac is weird as well. Mac still doesn't look convinced.

convinced. Elsewhere, Dick again tries to come on to Madison, but she's not interested. Veronica walks by and starts alluding to [[Recap/VeronicaMarsS02E16TheRapesOfGraff Madison's relationship with Lamb]], to Madison's horror. Madison, looking for an out, spots Gia and leaves. Dick tries to come on to Veronica, but Veronica dismisses him. She sees Madison giving Gia a drink, and [[Recap/VeronicaMarsS01E21ATripToTheDentist and warns Gia not to drink it]]. Gia thanks Veronica for saving her life and apologizes for getting mad at her. Veronica accepts the apology. She walks over to Wallace and Jackie and teases them. Wallace says he and Jackie have reserved a room, which surprises Veronica, and they leave.

As "I Hear the Bells" plays, Logan joins Veronica as she leans against the wall, watching the others. Veronica says she likes the song, and jokes about Logan not finding any "bimbos" to dance with. Logan tells her he's given that up, and he's been carrying a broken heart. Veronica, somewhat sympathetically, asks if he's talking about Hannah, but Logan says he's talking about her. As Veronica starts to grow uncomfortable, Logan, who's getting drunk, mentions how he thought their story was "epic", and [[Recap/VeronicaMarsS02E01NormalIsTheWatchword apologizes for how he acted the previous summer]]. Veronica, trying to deflect the tension, wonders if relationships should really be that hard, but Logan replies, "[[TrueArtIsAngsty No one writes songs about the ones that come easy]]". He moves to kiss her, but Veronica, very uncomfortable, says she can't, and leaves.

In another hotel room, [[TheyDo Jackie and Wallace start kissing each other and undressing]].

Back at the sheriff's department, Lucky is again about to tell Keith about Woody when Lamb comes in with the key Keith threw down the drain (Sachs dug it out), and unlocks them. Keith asks for a couple of minutes, but Lamb says [[Recap/VeronicaMarsS02E18IAmGod Meg's father]] posted bail for Lucky.

The next morning, at the Mars Apartment, Keith picks up the paper. He sees Veronica and asks how the prom went, but she brushes him off and leaves. Keith looks at the paper and sees the story about Terrence's gambling has come out...

...and outside Terrence's hospital room, Jackie has just read the same story. She looks gutted, but when the nurse tells her to go in, Jackie is able to smile, and throws the paper in the trash.

Meanwhile, at the Neptune Grand, Veronica knocks on Logan's door. When he answers, she apologizes for storming off and says while she's not ready for them to get back together, she does think they should see each other and take it from there. Unfortunately, Logan is hung over, and Veronica guesses he doesn't remember what he said the night before. Not only that, but Kendall, wearing nothing but a bathrobe, appears behind Logan, rubs his shoulder, and tells him to shower before walking back to the bedroom. Logan tries to apologize, but Veronica, who's crying, storms off.

The next day, Keith goes out to get the paper, only to discover there is none. He comes into the kitchen and discovers Veronica has both of the papers. She alludes to the story, and says she has to run so she can vote on incorporation. Keith looks at the paper, which has his side of the story, and the paper also mentions how the scandal has hurt the chances of incorporation passing.

In a voting booth, Veronica votes against incorporation.

Later, at Neptune High, Logan asks Dick who he's taking to the prom. Dick says he's going stag, and Logan correctly guesses he was turned down, but Dick, unfazed, says he's ready for college girls now. Corny walks by and mentions how excited he is for the alterna-prom, to Logan's horror.

Later, in the parking lot, [[InnerMonologue Veronica muses no student at Neptune High has a permit for a red pickup, and wonders if she's on the wrong trail]]. Gia appears, and Veronica starts to tell her what she's learned, but Gia is pissed about the story in the paper. Veronica tries to explain all the story said was Keith didn't get the woman drunk, but Gia isn't interested, and storms off.

That night, Keith and Veronica watch the news, and see the incorporation ballot measure was voted down. Veronica then puts the DVD of the soccer game on, and mentions Gia getting stalked. Keith then shows Veronica [[Recap/VeronicaMarsS02E17PlanB the DVD sent to Woody's office]]. He tells Veronica to stay away from the case, because it's about more than Gia, and he doesn't want Veronica to get hurt.

The next day, in study hall, Veronica is stuffing envelopes with the sketch picture Keith gave her earlier when Mr. Wu tells her to stop. Logan comes in, and chides Veronica for inviting Corny to the alterna-prom. He happens to see the picture, and says it looks like [[Recap/VeronicaMarsS02E06RatSawGod the same guy whom Aaron was sharing a cell with]].

Later, Jackie is visiting Terrence, and shows him a magazine with a picture of the dress she wants to wear. Terrence tells her to be careful, and Jackie assures him she's already learned the hard way to do that. She's also indulgent about Terrence trying to give her fatherly advice, and says she has no illusions about where her and Wallace are going, relationship-wise, since she's off to Paris.

That night, Veronica and Gia are both working alone in the journalism room. Veronica tries to approach her but Gia shuns her. Veronica decides it's not worth it to wait, and leaves. hospital...

...and later, at Woody's office, Keith chews Woody out for the article. Woody tries to apologize, saying he didn't know the motel manager had a camera, but explains he needed to keep things quiet for the sake of the incorporation vote. Keith says he's not voting for incorporation, and storms out.

That night, at the Mars apartment, Gia shows up. She tells Veronica she got her dad to pull the private security detail because it was freaking her out (and her father assured her it was normal election precautions), but then she found a DVD. Veronica puts it on, and it's of Gia's brother playing soccer, with some closeups of Gia as well. Veronica agrees it's creepy.

The next day, in journalism class, Veronica shows her the footage again, and points out a woman with a camera. Gia identifies her as "Mrs. Harmon", and Veronica thinks she might have footage of whoever's stalking Gia, and asks Gia to find out.

Meanwhile, at Mars Investigations, Keith tells his side of the story to [[Recap/VeronicaMarsS01E22LeaveItToBeaver Lloyd]] [[Recap/VeronicaMarsS02E10OneAngryVeronica Blankenship]]. Keith also tells Lloyd to talk to the staffer, but Lloyd says she's disappeared.

Back at Neptune High, during lunch, Wallace proposes going to a batting cage instead of prom, which Jackie is less than enthusiastic about. She mentions going to see her dad later, and says while things suck for him, she's finally getting along with him. Veronica comes over and tells them about Logan's plan for an "alterna-prom", and they both brighten up. Mac, who stops by the table, is less happy, but Corny, who has overheard, is thrilled.

Later, at the hospital, Keith visits Terrence. He asks Terrence about [[Recap/VeronicaMarsS02E15TheQuickAndTheWed breaking into Ms. Dumass' father's house]], and Terrence explains she claimed to have written a tell-all book that would finish him if it came out, so he wanted to get it before her parents saw it. Jackie comes in, with flowers and magazines, and she and Keith greet each other. Keith leaves, and Jackie starts to tell her father baseball gossip.

That night, at the Mars apartment, Gia has Mrs. Harmon's camera (she told Mrs. Harmon she thought her friend's boyfriend was with another girl at the game), and Veronica looks at the footage. At Mars Investigations, Keith notices a sketch picture on Veronica's desk. He's looking at it when he hears someone come in. It's Kendall, who wants [[Recap/VeronicaMarsS02E19NevermindTheButtocks her hard drive back]], or she'll press charges. Keith plays coy, and brings up Kendall's past, which she plays coy about as well. Veronica comes in, and she and Kendall engage in some SnarkToSnarkCombat until Kendall leaves. Keith asks Veronica about the doctor, and [[BlatantLies Veronica tells him everything's fine]]. Veronica asks to borrow the remote cameras, and tells him about Gia being stalked (though she doesn't mention him by name). Keith agrees, but asks Veronica to make copies of the picture he has, which is of [[Recap/VeronicaMarsS02E16TheRapesOfGraff the person who hired the prostitute to steal Cliff's briefcase]].

Later, at the Mars apartment, Veronica says she's set up the cameras to catch anyone who might have followed her and Gia to her place. Gia compliments Veronica, saying it sounds very "''Film/MissionImpossible''". As Veronica is scanning with the cameras, Gia notices the car, and when Veronica runs the license plate, she discovers it belongs to Leo, her ex.

The next day, in the Neptune High hallway, Veronica catches up to Logan and awkwardly asks if he knows whether Duncan was with anyone else besides her and Meg. Logan scoffs at this, but admits he doesn't know of anyone else. He then mentions "alterna-prom", which he's having for his friends. Veronica points out she's going to be with Jackie and Wallace, but Logan invites them as well.

Later, at Java the Hut, Veronica is having coffee with Leo, who says he now works for a private security firm. He's surprised to hear from her, [[Recap/VeronicaMarsS02E10OneAngryVeronica since he thought he fell off her radar after he stole the Aaron/Lynn sex tapes]]. They console each other about their terrible love lives before Veronica brings up Gia, and Gia appears behind them. Leo is less surprised now about hearing from Veronica, and admits he's been hired by Woody - or rather, his firm has - to watch over Gia. He says goodbye to them and leaves. Gia is surprised she has security and asks if it has anything to do with Keith. This brings Veronica up short, especially when Gia shows her the newspaper article that blames Keith for the woman he brought to the hospital.
