* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** Batman can't save everyone or remember every person that villains target. While he stopped Joker from stealing a rocket, he failed to save Karon from debilitating injuries.
** Robin ponders if this new vigilante will make their job easier. Batman says that locking away people and not surrendering them to the proper authorities is kidnapping, not justice.
** Despite Mario engaging in PragmaticVillainy and only targeted villains, including several that have attempted murder, he's still arrested for his vigilante activities.
* WhyDontYouJustShootHim: Rumor plans to execute every villain in Gotham, but he wants to make sure the Joker is caught as well. His delaying the execution and MotiveRant gives Batman enough time to stop the execution.

* PreferJailToTheProtagonist: Penguins begs Batman to send him to jail out of fear of Rumor coming to get him. Unfortunately, before Batman can do anything to protect Penguin or Catwoman, Rumors appears and grabs them both.

* RedHerring: Paul Karon, whose company developed the technology that Rumors is using and holds a grudge against Batman. He has an alibi the night Rumor did a kidnapping, which leads to Batman realizing that Mario is the real culprit.

There is another vigilante in town, who captures criminals and seems to keep them locked away. While Robin ponders if this makes crime-fighting easier, Batman points out that no one knows where the criminals went since they aren't in Arkham or jail. His instincts prove correct when Rumors goes after Catwoman, who is relatively harmless, and seems to have a personal vendetta.

* PlatonicDeclarationOfLove: Rumors is heartbroken when Batman and Robin reveal that Paul turned Mario in for kidnapping the criminals. He says that he did it for Paul.
