* BothSidesHaveAPoint: Ironwood worries about Robyn winning the election as while she's better than Jacques she's still all too likely cause problems for his plans. Ruby tries to convince him that she could be brought in on said plans, which could win him an ally and also help with tensions in Mantle.
** Marrow and Robyn get into a debate at the party. Marrow is right about how such an event could easily become a powderkeg and it's implied that he's actually right about Robyn and her group breaking the law. Robyn makes a valid defense that the law in Atlas isn't equal to everyone and that societal corruption is rather prevalent in the kingdom, which Marrow fully agrees with, but points out breaking the law is still a bad precedent moving forward.

Robyn makes a valid defense that the law in Atlas isn't equal to everyone and that societal corruption is rather prevalent in the kingdom, which Marrow fully agrees with, but points out breaking the law is still a bad precedent moving forward.forward.
* CassandraTruth: Ruby, Penny, and Marrow all profess Penny's innocence after Tyrian's attack is blamed on her, but neither Robyn nor her supporters want to hear any of it.

* ExitStageLeft: Once Penny tackles Robyn in an attempt to protect her, Tyrian quickly jumps up to the rafters and runs off, his part of the job complete. As now with him gone and Penny standing above Robyn armed with her swords, it looks like she caused the massacre.

* FreezeFrameBonus: Throughout the day of the election, one can notice that the polls had been steadily dropping throughout the day in Jacques' favor. When first seen, the polls put Robyn ahead at seventy percent. Right before Tyrian's attack however, the polls have suddenly shifted to Robyn only having fifty-three percent, implying Watts had been gradually influencing the results from the beginning.
* FromBadToWorse: As if Tyrian causing a massacre to happen wasn't bad enough, he and Watts subsequently frame Penny for causing it, turning her into a pariah. The combined negativity from said massacre, Penny being the believed culprit, and Jacques winning the election attracts swarms of Manticores into Mantle.

* InnocentlyInsensitive: While debating with Marrow, Robyn declares that the law in Atlas isn't equal. Marrow fires back that he's well aware, showing his tail to remind her she's saying this to a Faunus.

to:

* HopeSpot: Things seem to be looking up, with Robyn still leading in the polls, but Nora finally giving Ren a BigDamnKiss as Ruby gets to hang out with Penny and Marrow. Then Ruby spots Tyrian amidst the crowd InTheHood, and before she can warn anyone in time, Watts cuts the lights. Tyrian than proceeds to massacre many of Robyn's supporters as Watts rigs the election so that Jacques wins, as well as hacks Penny's optics so she can't see Tyrian. By time the lights come back on, Penny is now made to look like she caused the slaughter, and she, Ruby, Nora, Ren, and Marrow are forced to flee from the forming mob.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: While debating with Marrow, Robyn declares that the law in Atlas isn't equal. Marrow fires back that he's well aware, showing his tail to remind her she's saying this to a Faunus.Faunus]].
* LampshadeHanging: During their argument, Nora and Ren get into a debate over the ousSituationity of Blake and Yang's current relationship. Nora sees how close they and thinks they're more than just friends, while Ren thinks they're either really close, or that only one of them has feelings for the other while the other is unaware.

Added DiffLines:

* ObliviousToLove: During their argument, it becomes evident Ren is still somewhat oblivious of Nora's feelings, as while he thinks their argument is still about Blake and Yang's relationship, Nora has made it obvious she's also referring to their own relationship. It takes Nora giving him a BigDamnKiss to get it through to him.
* OnlyAFleshWound: After Fiona is slashed across her midsection by Tyrian, Robyn rushes to side only for Fiona to hastily tell her she's okay.

* UnresolvedSexualTension: Finally acknowledged in-universe for both Bumbleby and Renora. Ren and Nora argue over whether Blake and Yang have feelings for each other, but it soon becomes clear they’re talking about their own relationship.
* WhamEpisode: A number of Robyn's supporters are dead, their deaths are all pinned on Penny, Jacques manages to win the election, and Grimm descend en masse onto Mantle.

* SpannerInTheWorks: Watts, Tyrian and Jacques throw a huge one to the heroes. Watts rigs the election at the very last second to hand victory to Jacques, then cut the power in the building Robyn's rally was held. Tyrian then murders a number of Robyn's supporters before the power's restored (and narrowly misses killing Robyn herself), and Watts successfully frames the attacks on Penny and uploads it to the public. Only Marrow and the heroes present have any clue about what just happened - and Mantle promptly gets swarmed by Manticore Grimm as the episode ends.

Kick The Dog misuse. The trope definition is when a character's action demonstrates that they're evil, not when a character acts dismissive or rudely towards another character.
