** Without his powers, Nate should be a haemophiliac, but he seems to be completely healthy. Although you could possibly {{handwave}} that by saying that nobody in The Legion knows Nate is haemophiliac and just made him an ordinary, healthy person instead. It should be noted that the only way this would be an issue would be if he were to be cut or seriously injured, neither of which happens in this episode.

** Rip's fate is that he's stuck on a shrunk Waverider on Thawne's desk completely helpless to fix the world. The Legion even left his memories intact to screw with him.

* DownerEnding: The ending is pretty bleak. Amaya is dead, the Spear is destroyed, and the only hope is the Waverider, which is shrunk in S.T.A.R. Labs.

** Thawne keeps Rip trapped in a miniaturized Waverider, turned Stein into a browbeaten employee, and Jax into a {{jerkass}} security chief who enjoys tormenting Stein. He's also turned Nate into a BasementDweller (with a far less stylish haircut, to boot) and Ray into a janitor.

** Why would the Waverider need a distress signal? And, hey, where ''is'' it exactly?

** Meanwhile, with Rip, it takes a pep talk from Gideon to get Rip to refocus his efforts on powering the Waverider's distress signal.

* TheReveal: The last shot of the episode reveals where Rip and the Waverider were this whole time: shrunk down in STAR Labs.
* RippleEffectProofMemory: From the start, the only ones to know that reality was altered was the Legion[[note]]They were the ones who performed the alteration and, by holding the Spear, they were presumably granted immunity[[/note]], Mick[[note]]Mick had sided with the Legion at the time and -- like Thawne, Merlin and Darhk -- was holding the Spear[[/note]], Rip[[note]]The Legion elected to keep his memories intact, knowing that the miniaturised Waverider was no threat[[/note]] and Gideon[[note]]The past two seasons have already taught us that Gideon, at the very least, either has a memory built to be this or, if the Vanishing Point was where the Timeships were built, she exists ''outside'' of time, meaning that altering reality (which, in this series, is basically altering time with no "easy"/advisable takebacks outside using the Spear) likely wouldn't affect her.[[/note]].

* AndIMustScream: Rip's fate is that he's stuck on a shrunk Waverider on Thawne's desk completely helpless to fix the world. The Legion even left his memories intact to screw with him.

* CruelMercy: After destroying the Spear, Thawne simply shoos everyone (Legends and fellow members of the Legion of Doom) away because they have no way of changing things back or altering reality further, no way to get anyone to believe their stories, simply can't match his powers to pose a direct threat, and he's quite happy to let them suffer knowing all that. Beforehand, he also did that to Rip, whom he kept in a miniaturized Waverider.

* HellBentForLeather: While acting as Dahrk's ThoseTwoBadGuys enforcers, Sara and Amaya look quite tasty in black leather.

* RealityEnsues: During the ColdOpen, Felicity jumps over a railing in classic Arrow style to the floor below...and ends up breaking her leg because she landed wrong.

* VillainWorld: What the Legion have created. In a twist, the world is actually ''better'' in most ways except for ones directly related to the protagonists; Merlyn is a simple family man, Thawne has used his scientific knowledge to vastly improve the world, and Snart is basically just screwing around stealing stuff he already owns instead of anything more destructive. The only real problem is Damien turning Star City into his personal fiefdom and killing everyone who stands up against him. (Though as far as we know it's just [[Series/{{Arrow}} Team Arrow]], [[Series/TheFlash2014 Team Flash]] and Vigilante, ''[[RealityEnsues vigilantism is illegal]]''.) Everything else is just the Legion screwing over the Legends in petty ways.

* IdiotBall: Snart trying to convince Rory to give him the spear, essentially by calling him an idiot and a glorified attack dog. Yeah, like ''that's'' gonna work out fine.

* StupidBall: Sara telling Mick that they trusted him. Apparently, she ignored what happened last time.

** The Legends, and Sara especially, seem to have forgotten that making Mick feel unwanted and untrusted is ''exactly'' what got them into this situation in the first place. Sara even says, "We did trust you Mick." At least Amaya seems to have remembered that lesson as she tells him there's still good in him which probably contributed to Mick returning the spear to her.

* BeyondTheImpossible: Thawne is able to use a device similar to the particle accelerator to destroy TheSpearOfDestiny when it was previously established that only the blood of Christ could do that.

** Nate can't transform, Ray doesn't have his suit and Amaya doesn't have her totem. They can still [[BroughtDownToBadass kick ass]].

* DefiantToTheEnd: Felicity. Unfortunately Darhk has the perfect counter:

** After freezing Amaya Snart faux apologises to Mick noting that he [[{{Pun}} loved her to pieces]] before shattering her.

* MythologyGag: The particle accelerator in the altered reality strongly resembles the Legion of Doom's headquarters (the "Hall of Doom") from ''WesternAnimation/{{Superfriends}}''.

** Although by this point the series has firmly established a ship between Amaya and Nate - Nate even proclaims at one point that he slept with Amaya - the Mick and Amaya ship gets a bit of attention before it again sinks beneath the waves when the two ally to use the spear, and then after she's killed Mick's response is not what one would expect.

* WhamEpisode: Amaya is killed, the Spear is destroyed to prevent the Legends from using it, Prof. Stein is still NotHimself, and the Waverider with Rip and Gideon inside is shrunk stuck in a desk at S.T.A.R. Labs.

* AlternateUniverse: The VillainWorld is essentially a reality created to suit their desires.

* BerserkButton:
** Darhk intentionally starts bragging about killing Laurel, which he knows from his encounters in the past is why Sara wants to kill him so badly, to see if Sara regained her memories and loses control. He was right.

** [[JustifiedTrope Justified]] at first since Snart and Rory's dialogue implied that keeping the Legends alive was Rory's request. But at the end when Rory's pulled a HeelFaceTurn, Thawne still lets them all live, losing that justification, since he's so confident that the Legends are now powerless to stop him.

** Darhk can't resist monologuing as he's about to kill Sara, lampshaded by both Malcolm and Snart which allows her to escape.

* CoDragons: Amaya and Sara for Damien, initially.

* CrapsackWorld: Surprisingly averted. OK, so three of the most evil men in the world have created positions of power for themselves, with the fourth pretty much owning the police force, but at one point Nate points out how Thawne has actually ''fixed'' many of the environmental problems plaguing the "real world". Overall, the altered reality doesn't really live up to the episode title.

* DefiantToTheEnd: Felicity, unfortunately Darhk has the perfect counter:

* EnemyCivilWar: The Legion conspire against Eobard for hogging TheSpearOfDestiny.

* HeroicBSOD: Mick has one after Snart kills Amaya due to [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone his actions leading to this conclusion]] and the fact that [[WeUsedToBeFriends his former friend was the one to do the deed.]]

* HopeBringer: As it happens, while Rip was busy [[SanitySlippage being drunk, baking cakes and being slightly insane]], Gideon was figuring out how to redirect power to boost the distress signal, something she informs Rip of...So that ''he'' can be this at the end of the episode, turning on said signal so that the others can find him (which, conveniently, occurs soon after they hatch the plan to alter the past).

* MustMakeAmends: Mick regrets siding with the Legion and teams up with Nate to fix reality.

* OverlyLongGag: Mick gets punched in the face three times by his old teammates for betraying them. After the third time he says that he is gonna hit back next time.

* TheReveal: The last shot of the episode reveals where Rip and the time ship were this whole time: shrunk down in STAR Labs.

** Mick being punched in the jaw when someone regains their memories. Initially he feels he deserves it, but after a while he decides to start punching back.

* TimeSkip: At least from Rip's perspective (but likely from the other Legends' too) it's been about a year since the events of the previous episode.

Alternatively, it could be a reference to Snart knocking him out in order to perform his HeroicSacrifice. Or to the time Snart punched him after Thawne brought him back from the past... Honestly, Snart has punched Mick a ''lot''.

* HereWeGoAgain: After Sara refuses to let Mick come along (''yet again'' saying they can't trust him), Mick defects back to the Legion. {{Subverted}}, since he decides to stand with them at the end.

* LoveRedeems: {{Averted}} with Malcolm, who (after getting his whole family back) still is the same old scumbag he was before.

* NeverMyFault: Sara and the Legends refuse to acknowledge the fact that they didn't trust Mick is what led to him betraying them in the first place. {{Averted}} with Amaya however who tells Mick that there is still good in him which likely contributed to his HeelFaceTurn.

** However, after Sara wallops him, Mick is ''starting'' to get annoyed with it.

* UnexpectedCharacter: If you look closely at Darhk's collection of masks from Teams Arrow and Flash you notice that Vigilante is among them despite not being an ally of either team.
* UngratefulBastard: The Legends point blank tell Mick they don't trust him even after he went to the trouble of restoring their memories. Luckily Vixen still has faith in him.
** Sort of Justified, however, as Sara did say that they wouldn't have lost their memories if he hadn't sided with the Legion.
