-> "''My name is Eobard Thawne. With the help of Damien Darhk, Malcolm Merlyn, Leonard Snart and Mick Rory, I have obtained the Spear of Destiny -- an AncientArtifact with the power to rewrite reality itself. And we have. It's a brave new world!''"
-->-- '''Eobard Thawne's OpeningNarration'''

Realizing his mistake, Mick recruits Nate to help him fix a reality that is now ruled by the Legion of Doom.

----
!!Tropes:

* ActorAllusion:
** Snart suggests to Rory that if he's bored he could arrange for them to go to prison so they could [[Series/PrisonBreak escape like in the old days]]. Double Allusion, since the pair will star in a new version of the other show.
** The time-themed cake made by Rip bears a resemblance to the time vortex shown in an opening sequence of ''Series/DoctorWho'', where he played a companion.
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: When Nate smashes Thawne across the room like a baseball, Darhk laughs, and the two almost high-five before awkwardly stopping.
-->'''Darhk:''' Uhhh... perhaps not. ''[steals the Spear and knocks Nate out]''
* AdaptationalBadass: Downplayed or averted with this reality's version of Felicity, see FauxActionGirl.
* AesopAmnesia:
** The Legends, and Sara especially, seem to have forgotten that making Mick feel unwanted and untrusted is ''exactly'' what got them into this situation in the first place. Sara even says, "We did trust you Mick." At least Amaya seems to have remembered that lesson as she tells him there's still good in him which probably contributed to Mick giving the spear to her.
** Eobard forgot the importance of treating his partners as equals, which drives the plot of this episode.
* AlternateUniverse: The VillainWorld is essentially a reality created to suit the Legion's desires.
* BadBoss: Thawne, big time, and this reality's version of Jax, especially towards Stein, whom he refuses time off to see his daughter in favour of building the Spear destroying machine.
* TheBadGuyWins: Snart kills Amaya before she can use the Spear to restore reality, and then Thawne destroys the Spear, preventing anyone else from using it.
* BadLiar: Jax lampshades how Stein is this even in this reality.
* BasementDweller: Nate in the new reality lives in his mom's basement.
-->'''Nate:''' I pay rent, so legally it's my basement. You know, sort of.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Mick has his partner back, and they're able to run around Central City committing crimes without fear of getting caught! He and Snart are playing Cops and Robbers! If they want, they can go to prison and plan an escape! Only Mick finds it incredibly boring. Also, there's all that character development of his...
* BerserkButton: Darhk intentionally starts bragging about killing Laurel, which he knows from his encounters in the past is why Sara wants to kill him so badly, to see if Sara regained her memories and loses control. He was right.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Nate ''and'' Ray punch Mick in the face for betraying them. He admits he deserved it. However, after Sara wallops him, Mick is ''starting'' to get annoyed with it.
* BeyondTheImpossible: Thawne is able to use a device similar to the particle accelerator to destroy the Spear of Destiny when it was previously established that only the blood of Christ could do that.
* BondVillainStupidity: The Legion has a really bad case of this:
** The Legion let the Legends live. Lampshaded by Malcolm Merlyn of all people, who believes that they should've been erased from existence. Especially egregious since all the members from Team Arrow and Team Flash are dead. Thawne concedes Malcolm's point in the climax when fighting the Legends.
--->'''Thawne:''' Do you have any idea how infuriating it is to know that ''Merlyn'' was right!?
** [[JustifiedTrope Justified]] at first since keeping the Legends alive was Rory's request. But at the end when Rory's pulled a HeelFaceTurn, Thawne still lets them all live, losing that justification, since he's so confident that the Legends are now powerless to stop him.
** Thawne keeps the Black Flash as a living trophy encased in a cell it can't escape from, though it's ambiguous if it can even be destroyed given the nature of the Speed Force. He then gloats to his former comrades that they have no way to kill him.
** Darhk can't resist monologuing as he's about to kill Sara. Lampshaded by both Malcolm and Snart which allows her to escape.
--->'''Merlyn:''' To be fair, I thought it was a really good bad guy monologue.
* BreakingSpeech: Thawne gives one to heroes and villains alike after having destroyed the spear, revelling in how he trapped both teams in a FateWorseThanDeath.
* BrokenPedestal:
** Mick betrayed the Legends in large part so he could again join up with his friend Leonard Snart. However, this version of Snart is from a time before both men had significant CharacterDevelopment. Snart treats Mick as he would a pet dog and gives no consideration to what Mick might want. The old Mick might have had no issues with this but the new Mick finds this intolerable.
** Doomworld-Nate is an obvious fan of Eobard Thawne, listing his accomplishments and going to him for aid in some distressing research Nate's made. That idolatry presumably goes all out of the window when Eobard orders Mick and Snart to have him killed.
* BroughtDownToNormal:
** Nate can't transform, Ray doesn't have his suit, Jax wasn't able to restore Stein's memories and Amaya doesn't have her totem. They can still [[BroughtDownToBadass kick ass]].
** Inverted by Darhk having regained his old magic powers in this reality, and by Thawne keeping his speed.
* CallBack:
** When Mick double-crosses Snart and knocks him out, he says that he "owed you that one". This is possibly a reference to when Snart knocked him out and left him for dead back in Season 1. Alternatively, it could be a reference to Snart knocking him out in order to perform his HeroicSacrifice. Or to the time Snart punched him after Thawne brought him back from the past...honestly, Snart has punched Mick a ''lot''.
** In the VillainWorld, Eobard is the head and founder of S.T.A.R. Labs, much like in ''Series/TheFlash2014'' Season 1. Darhk is the mayor of Star City, much like his wife during ''Series/{{Arrow}}'' Season 4.
** Felicity's appearance is essentially her {{Goth}} look during her college years.
** Just like in the season premiere, Nate breaks into an important location to tell a VIP about his unbelievable yet correct findings. The first time it was Mayor Oliver Queen. This time it's the head of STAR Labs, Eobard Thawne.
* CastingGag: The Legion, Thawne in particular, is working to destroy the Spear of Destiny, the lance that pierced the side of Christ at the Crucifixion. Their lead scientist, Dr. Stein, is played by Creator/VictorGarber, who played Jesus in the musical film ''{{Film/Godspell}}''.
* CharacterDeath:
** Snart kills Amaya. Of course given how [[SavedByCanon she has a daughter]] [[WesternAnimation/{{Vixen}} and grandchildren]]...
** Felicity in the opening scene.
* ChekhovsGunman: Averted with the Black Flash, it's established that Thawne has kept him alive...and the rest of the Legion doesn't remember this when they turn against Thawne in the end.
* CherryTapping: After an already one-sided fight, Sara just pushes Felicity down a flight of stairs.
-->'''Sara:''' [[SarcasmMode Oops]].
* CoDragons: Amaya and Sara for Damien, initially. And to Mick's annoyance, he feels like he and Snart serve the same role to Thawne.
* ConflictingLoyalty: Mick is torn between the Legends and the Legion. He sides with the Legends in the end.
* ContinuitySnarl: Felicity's death in the opening minutes serves as a handy indicator that you really shouldn't worry about how the rewriting of reality affects the other Arrowverse shows.
* CouchGag: Instead of the Legends, the symbols that flash over the opening titles represent the members of the Legion.
* CrapsackWorld: Surprisingly averted. OK, so three of the most evil men in the world have placed themselves in positions of power, with the fourth pretty much owning the police force, but at one point Nate points out how Thawne has actually ''fixed'' many of the environmental problems plaguing the "real world". Overall, the altered reality doesn't really live up to the episode title.
* CreateYourOwnVillain: Thawne kept the Spear for himself, destroyed the tome on how to use it and tried to distance himself from his comrades which set off alarm bells for Malcolm, Darhk, and Snart.
* CruelMercy:
** Rip's fate is that he's stuck on a shrunk ''Waverider'' on Thawne's desk completely helpless to fix the world. The Legion even left his memories intact to screw with him.
** After destroying the Spear, Thawne simply shoos everyone (Legends and fellow members of the Legion of Doom) away because they have no way of changing things back or altering reality further, no way to get anyone to believe their stories, simply can't match his powers to pose a direct threat, and he's quite happy to let them suffer knowing all that.
* TheCuckoolanderWasRight: Nate in this reality is largely overlooked and not taken seriously, but his assessment of reality being tampered with was completely right.
* CurbStompBattle: Felicity is torn apart by Sara and Amaya, who barely even seem to be trying.
* CurseCutShort: When Mick punches out Snart to prevent him from killing Nate.
-->'''Snart:''' You son of a--[thud]
* DarkestHour: You thought things were bleak before? The Spear is destroyed and Amaya is dead.
* DefiantToTheEnd: Felicity. Unfortunately, Darhk has the perfect counter:
-->'''Felicity:''' Starling City is my home. I will ''never'' stop fighting.\
'''Darhk:''' Sure you will. ''[to Sara]'' Kill her. ''[Sara breaks Felicity's neck]''
* TheDogBitesBack:
** After having been treated like a glorified attack dog by Snart, Mick decides to stick with the Legends.
** In a darker way, this reality's version of Stein sounds the silent alarm and is content with Thawne dealing in whatever way possible with him, as long as he doesn't have to see Jax again, who was a colossal dick to him before he got his mind back.
* DownerEnding: The ending is pretty bleak. Amaya is dead, the Spear is destroyed, and the only hope is the ''Waverider'', which is shrunk in S.T.A.R. Labs.
* DrowningMySorrows: Rip spends his days either baking cakes or getting shitfaced on rum.
* EasilyForgiven: Averted with Mick, who gets left behind by Sara because she doesn't trust him after all this.
* EnemyCivilWar: The Legion conspire against Eobard for hogging the Spear of Destiny.
* EnemyMine: Briefly attempted by the Legends and the Legion against Thawne, but his BreakingSpeech resulted in them giving up before the fight even started.
* EverybodysDeadDave: All of the heroes from Team Flash and Team Arrow are dead (aside from Thea who Malcolm changed into being his devoted daughter) -- Felicity is the last one to be killed. Darhk keeps a collection of their masks as sick hunting trophies. Even Vigilante.
* EvilIsPetty: The Legion's various torments of the Legends take this to whole new levels:
** Thawne keeps Rip trapped in a miniaturized ''Waverider'', turned Stein into a browbeaten employee, and Jax into a {{jerkass}} security chief who enjoys tormenting Stein. He's also turned Nate into a BasementDweller (with a far less stylish haircut, to boot) and Ray into a janitor.
** Darhk uses Sara and Amaya as his personal attack dogs.
** Merlyn averts this with regard to the Legends ([[SmartBall he actually advocated wiping them from history]]), but played it 100% straight with Nyssa, whom he's trapped in a miserable, closeted life. He even smirks upon hearing it brought up. Making this revenge all the more petty, he doesn't seem to have bothered taking over as Ra's Al-Ghul in her absence.
* EvilSorcerer: Darhk has his magic again.
* EvilVsEvil: Snart, Merlyn and Darhk take up arms against Thawne, but they have no good intentions whatsoever.
* EvilWearsBlack: While acting as Darhk's minions, Sara and Amaya both dress in black [[HellBentForLeather leather]].
* FaceHeelTurn: Granted this is due to Jax being unable to restore his memories and original personality, but Stein's betrayal still counts.
* FateWorseThanDeath: Thawne seems to be a huge fan of this, preferring to torment his enemies instead of just killing them.
* FauxActionGirl: Felicity is a costumed hero, who spends her time running away from Sara and Amaya, breaks her ankle jumping down from the roof, and is defeated with laughable ease.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Evil Sara is constantly smirking and even flirts with Mick when he compliments [[HellBentForLeather her outfit]], but she gleefully talks about killing heroes and is totally fine with killing on Darhk's orders.
* {{Flanderization}}: Snart, whose dream of a paradise is a Central City with no Flash to stop him and no cops who will bother to arrest; on ''The Flash'' he ''liked'' having the Flash around because it made his heists more challenging.
* {{Foreshadowing}}:
** Why would the ''Waverider'' need a distress signal? And, hey, where ''is'' it exactly?
** A model rocket on the table is given a minor focus during the first STAR Labs scene.
* GenreSavvy:
** When Dahrk continues bragging instead of killing Sara, Snart interjects, "Really? Now's the time for a bad guy monologue?"
** Done again at the end of the episode, when he just shoots Amaya.
* TheGhost: Although Nate lives out of his mom's basement and she apparently makes sandwiches for the team throughout the episode, she never appears in person.
* AGlitchInTheMatrix: Nate is still knowledgeable enough to piece together reality has changed. He theorizes that he was aided by subconscious memories of the old reality, but even so it's still impressive. Likewise Ray creates a device to undo the MindWipe created by the spear without fully understanding why.
* GodzillaThreshold: At the end of the episode, the Legends decide to break one of the cardinal rules of time travel, and go back into their own timeline (the recent trip to World War I, specifically) to prevent the Legion from getting the Spear in the first place, as it's the only way to stop them now.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Mick, once again. First he helps the Legends remember themselves, then he defects back to the Legion after they still don't trust him, but has another change of heart when he chooses Amaya over Snart at the end.
* HeKnowsTooMuch: When Thawne realizes Nate has figured out that there is something wrong with reality, he orders Snart and Mick to kill him.
* HellBentForLeather: While acting as Dahrk's enforcers, Sara and Amaya look quite tasty in black leather.
* HereWeGoAgain: After Sara refuses to let Mick come along (''yet again'' saying they can't trust him), Mick defects back to the Legion. Subverted, since he decides to stand with them in the end.
* HeroicBSOD: Mick has one after Snart kills Amaya due to [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone his actions leading to this conclusion]] and the fact that [[WeUsedToBeFriends his former friend was the one to do the deed]].
* HeroKiller: Darhk has apparently killed all of [[Series/{{Arrow}} Team Arrow]], [[Series/TheFlash2014 Team Flash]], and Sara and Amaya are implied to have done most of the actual killing.
-->'''Sara:''' Oh, these guys are heroes.\
'''Amaya:''' That is so great.\
'''Sara:''' ''[pulls out knives]'' We kill heroes.
* HesBack:
** The tell that Legends' memories of the original reality are restored? [[WhatTheHellHero Punching Mick in the jaw.]]
** Meanwhile, with Rip, it takes a pep talk from Gideon to get Rip to refocus his efforts on powering the ''Waverider''[='s=] distress signal.
--->'''Rip:''' First: I'm going to vomit. And second: ...let's do this.
* HiddenDepths:
** Rip Hunter apparently has a hidden talent: baking cakes.
** Mick mentions he knows the language they needed to use for the Spear is Aramaic because he's a fan of ''Film/ThePassionOfTheChrist''.
* HistoryRepeats: The penultimate episode of the season once again features a major CharacterDeath (both involving Leonard Snart) and a powerful artifact that can alter reality being destroyed.
* HopeBringer: As it happens, while Rip was busy [[SanitySlippage being drunk, baking cakes and slightly insane]], Gideon was figuring out how to redirect power to boost the distress signal, something she informs Rip of...So that ''he'' can be this at the end of the episode, turning on said signal so that the others can find him (which, conveniently, occurs soon after they hatch the plan to alter the past).
* HopeSpot: Amaya was ''this close'' to fixing reality when Snart froze her.
* HypocriticalHumor: [[CardCarryingVillain Damien Darhk]], of all people, criticises Snart's comment about meeting Thawne so he can send Thawne to "meet his maker" as "a bit moustache-twirly for my tastes". Made even better when Darhk's later gloating allows Sara to restore Amaya's memories and escape, which Snart, in turn, makes fun of him for.
* IdiotBall:
** Snart trying to convince Rory to give him the spear, essentially by calling him an idiot and a glorified attack dog. Yeah, like ''that's'' gonna work out fine.
** Sara telling Mick that they trusted him. Apparently, she ignored what happened last time.
* KickTheDog:
** Most of Malcolm's contributions to the changed reality are understandable (resurrecting his dead wife and son, making his daughter love him, restoring his hand). But Thawne also mentions that he stuck Nyssa in a "miserable, closeted life in Ohio", which is just [[EvilIsPetty petty]].
** After freezing Amaya, Snart faux apologises to Mick noting that he [[{{Pun}} loved her to pieces]] before shattering her.
** Darhk boasts about his killing of Laurel, calling it "delicious" and how he doesn't think it will ever get old.
* LaserGuidedKarma: The Black Flash being kept as Eobard's personal trophy, given that the former did the same to the real Jay Garrick back when he was still Zoom.
* LiterallyShatteredLives: Snart freezes and shatters Amaya.
* LoveRedeems: Averted with Malcolm, who (after getting his whole family back) still is the same old scumbag he was before.
* MaleGaze: Sara and Amaya's outfits in the VillainWorld are revealing, which is lampshaded by Mick.
-->'''Nate:''' I don't like the way they look at us.\
'''Mick:''' I like the way they look at us. Love [[EvilWearsBlack the]] [[HellBentForLeather suits]].
* MeleeATrois: During the climax, the Legends want the Spear so they can fix reality, the Legion wants it so they don't have to answer to Thawne, and Thawne wants to destroy it so his "perfect" world can't be changed back. Violence ensues.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal:
** Darhk, Merlyn and Snart conspire against Thawne because he still acts like he is in charge and won't let go of the Spear of Destiny.
** Mick at first seems to be heading back to the Legion after the team still doesn't trust him, but then sides with the Legends after Snart essentially tells him that he is an idiot and a glorified attack dog.
** Subverted in that it seems that Thawne's treatment in Stein would result in him immediately siding with the Legends, only to ''actually'' aid Thawne by sounding the silent alarm and powering up the reactor to destroy the spear.
* MustMakeAmends: Mick regrets siding with the Legion and puts the Legends back together to fix reality.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone:
** It takes almost helping Snart kill Nate to make Mick realize he fucked up. Watching Snart actually kill Amaya just twists the knife in further.
** Jax has a brief moment himself when his personality before regaining his memories results in Stein unknowingly betray the Legends. Hit further home when he outright says he never wants to see Jax again.
* MythologyGag: STAR Labs in the altered reality strongly resembles the Legion of Doom's headquarters (the "Hall of Doom") from ''WesternAnimation/{{Superfriends}}''.
* {{Narcissist}}: Thawne's ideal world is one where he is considered the smartest man alive, beloved of the world, and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking friends with the President]]. And, of course, a world where [[ArchEnemy The Flash]] is dead.
* NeverMyFault: Sara and the Legends refuse to acknowledge the fact that they didn't trust Mick is what led to him betraying them in the first place. Averted with Amaya however who tells Mick that there is still good in him which likely contributed to his HeelFaceTurn.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Due to not being himself, Stein destroys the memory restoration gun before Jax can use it on him and triggers the silent alarm. Granted, he thought that Jax would shoot him, but still.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: The only real reason the Legion of Doom hasn't already won is their own hubris. Specifically, Thawne's [[WhyDontYouJustShootHim refusal to kill the Legends when he could easily do so]] (because he thinks it's more fun to trap them in an IronicHell) and the rest of the Legion [[ChronicBackStabbingDisorder turning against Thawne]] essentially because of their clashing egos.
* NoChallengeEqualsNoSatisfaction: Mick was a bank robber because he liked the excitement and he liked the money. In the new reality Snart owns all the banks they rob so the police never try to arrest them. Mick finds it extremely boring and pointless since they are essentially stealing money from themselves. Subverted with Snart who likes the intellectual challenge for planning a perfect bank robbery and is still having fun.
* OhCrap:
** It's subtle, but Thawne gets quite worried when he realizes that Nate has figured out that reality has been tampered with, and immediately orders him killed.
** Nate and Ray say a literal one out loud when Evil Sara and Amaya break into Nate's mom's basement to kill them.
* OnlySaneMan: Malcolm who points out, multiple times, that the Legion should have erased The Legends from existence when they had the chance instead of being [[EvilIsPetty petty dicks to them]]. Thawne takes it pretty badly that Malcolm was right.
* PetTheDog: Thawne, Darhk, and Snart's perfect worlds are ones where they can pretty much do whatever they want with no heroes to stop them. Merlyn's, on the other hand, is one where his wife and son are still alive and he has a good relationship with his daughter.
* PillarOfLight: When the Spear is destroyed.
* PoliceAreUseless: Played with. Mick and Snart rob a bank and the police officers let them walk away without a fight. However, we then find out that Snart owns half the city, including the banks he robs. The police are essentially humoring an eccentric billionaire who likes to pretend that he is a bank robber.
* PoorCommunicationKills: Had Eobard been more open with his comrades for the plans for the Spear they might not have betrayed him.
* PuttingTheBandBackTogether: On his quest to fix reality, Mick rounds up the Legends.
* TheReveal: The last shot of the episode reveals where Rip and the ''Waverider'' were this whole time: shrunk down in STAR Labs.
* RippleEffectProofMemory: From the start, the only ones to know that reality was altered was the Legion[[note]]They were the ones who performed the alteration and, by holding the Spear, they were presumably granted immunity[[/note]], Mick[[note]]Mick had sided with the Legion at the time and -- like Thawne, Merlin and Darhk -- was holding the Spear[[/note]], Rip[[note]]The Legion elected to keep his memories intact, knowing that the miniaturised ''Waverider'' was no threat[[/note]] and Gideon[[note]]The past two seasons have already taught us that Gideon, at the very least, either has a memory built to be this or, if the Vanishing Point was where the Timeships were built, she exists ''outside'' of time, meaning that altering reality (which, in this series, is basically altering time with no "easy"/advisable takebacks outside using the Spear) likely wouldn't affect her.[[/note]].
* RuleOfThree: Mick gets punched in the face three times by his old teammates for betraying them. After the third time he says that he is gonna hit back next time.
* RunningGag:
** Mick being punched in the jaw when someone regains their memories. Initially he feels he deserves it, but after a while he decides he wants to start punching back.
** People commenting on the deliciousness of Nate's mom's sandwiches.
** Rip making increasingly ridiculous cakes to the point where even Gideon is losing patience with him.
* SanitySlippage: Rip took the reality alteration ''hard''; he's been spending his time either moping over the potential fate of the others...or ''making cakes''.
-->'''Rip:''' ''[sits up from the floor]'' Gideon! I figured out the secret ingredient for my recipe! ''[takes a swig of booze]'' [[INeedAFreakingDrink Rum.]]
* SeriesContinuityError: Without his powers, Nate should be a haemophiliac, but he seems to be completely healthy. Although you could possibly {{handwave}} that by saying that nobody in The Legion knows Nate is haemophiliac and just made him an ordinary, healthy person instead. It should be noted that the only way this would be an issue would be if he were to be cut or seriously injured, neither of which happens in this episode.
* SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong: The gist of the episode: Mick has to fix reality.
* ShipTease:
** Although by this point the series has firmly established a ship between Amaya and Nate - Nate even proclaims at one point that he slept with Amaya - the Mick and Amaya ship gets a bit of attention, and then after she's killed Mick's response is not what one would expect.
** The Rip-Gideon ship continues to fly, as we hear Gideon essential "break character" as an AI to snap Rip out of his funk.
* ShoutOut: The President in the Legion's world [[UsefulNotes/DonaldTrump is a man who owns hotels and has a wife called Mel]].
* TheStarscream: The rest of the Legion jointly decide to turn on Thawne and take the Spear for themselves.
* SwissCheeseSecurity: AvertedTrope. Unlike under Team Flash, Thawne's STAR Labs has pretty good security.
* TakeThat: The President, most heavily implied to be UsefulNotes/DonaldTrump, is good friends with a petty, sadistic megalomaniac. Though it's doubtful he knows Thawne is that way, and is most likely ignorant as to his place in the world.
* TalkingIsAFreeAction:
** [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] by Snart, who freezes Amaya solid with his ice gun before she can finish the incantation for the Spear.
** Played with when Damien and Sara face off. Damien taunts Sara and when Sara retorts, he starts fighting slightly before she has the time to finish but not by enough to make any difference.
* ThreePointLanding: Deconstructed. During the ColdOpen, Felicity jumps over a railing in classic Arrow style to the floor below...and ends up breaking her leg because she landed wrong.
* TimeSkip: At least from Rip's perspective (but likely from the other Legends too) it's been about a year since the events of the previous episode.
* TimeyWimeyBall: Despite the reality (and by that extension, the past) having been rewritten it is still apparently possible to time travel to the point of history where reality wasn't changed.
* TooDumbToLive: Thawne gloats to his former teammates that they have no way to kill him. Seemingly forgetting about the Black Flash he has locked away instead of destroyed. The only reason they even want to is because he didn't use the spear to change that during the extensive amounts of time that he's been alone and fully able to do so since they made Doom World.
* TrailersAlwaysSpoil: Sort-of: the synopsis for the next episode, "Aruba", makes mention of the Legends being in possession of the Spear. [[ZigZaggedTrope It didn't mention it was the]] ''[[Recap/LegendsOfTomorrowS2E15FellowshipOfTheSpear current]]'' [[ExactWords team...]]
* TranquilFury: When Snart kills Amaya, Mick is visibly seething with fury, but he doesn't act on his rage...until he and the Legends return to the Heywood home.
* UnexpectedCharacter: If you look closely at Darhk's collection of masks from Teams Arrow and Flash, you notice that Vigilante is among them despite not being an ally of either team.
* UngratefulBastard: The Legends point-blank tell Mick they don't trust him even after he went to the trouble of restoring their memories. Luckily Vixen still has faith in him. Sort of Justified, however, as Sara did say that they wouldn't have lost their memories if he hadn't sided with the Legion.
* VictoryIsBoring: Both Rory and Merlyn have a ''bad'' case of this. Malcolm because he's too paranoid that the Legends still exist, while Mick has developed too much as a person to enjoy going back to be a full time criminal.
* VillainBall: Snart killing Amaya didn't actually help him; it left the Spear open for Thawne to grab and destroy it. Screwing over the protagonists also rid the Legion of the one thing they could use to overthrow Thawne.
* VillainWorld: What the Legion have created. In a twist, the world is actually ''better'' in most ways except for ones directly related to the protagonists; Merlyn is a simple family man, Thawne has used his scientific knowledge to vastly improve the world, and Snart is basically just screwing around stealing stuff he already owns instead of anything more destructive. The only real problem is Damien turning Star City into his personal fiefdom and killing everyone who stands up against him. (Though as far as we know it's just [[Series/{{Arrow}} Team Arrow]], [[Series/TheFlash2014 Team Flash]] and Vigilante, ''vigilantism is illegal''.) Everything else is just the Legion screwing over the Legends in petty ways.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Felicity gets killed in the first scene.
* WhamEpisode: Amaya is killed, the Spear is destroyed to prevent anyone from reusing it, Prof. Stein is still NotHimself, and the ''Waverider'' with Rip inside is shrunk, stuck on a desk at S.T.A.R. Labs.
* WhamShot:
** Amaya getting freeze-blasted by Snart and shattered.
** Rip and Gideon finally sending a distress signal from the ''Waverider'', only to pan out and reveal the ship is in the STAR Labs Cortex, miniaturized.
* WhatYouAreInTheDark:
** Malcolm used the Spear to bring his family back to life, including Thea as his and Rebecca's daughter, rather than make himself Ra's Al-Ghul again. But he ''did'' make Nyssa's life miserable just because he could, and let all of Team Arrow (with the obvious exception of Thea) die.
** Eobard used the Spear to make himself head of S.T.A.R. Labs and used its technology to help the world for the better (saving the polar bears from extinction, stopping global warming, and making desalination sustainable as three examples), allowing him to be the "hero" he always wanted to be instead of bringing back Eddie Thawne to make the Black Flash stop chasing him. Of course his BadBoss tendencies subvert it. Worth mentioning is that, while he previously claimed to enjoy working with Caitlin and Cisco, they're nowhere to be found in his ideal world.
** Snart and Mick take Nate out into a secluded area at night to kill Nate. Mick knocks out Snart to save Nate's life.
* WhyDontYouJustShootHim: Completely averted with Snart, who ''does'' just shoot Amaya.
* AWorldHalfFull: PlayedForLaughs; Jax takes the deliciousness of the sandwiches made by Nate's mom as a positive in a world designed by Thawne to torment them.
