* AbusiveParents: The first victim's mother ''in spades''. She first had her daughter taken from her due to being an addict. She took her back after claiming to get clean, only to give her back to CPS after her daughter tells her her boyfriend sexually abused her (she refused to believe her or throw her boyfriend out). When she finds out about her daughter's murder, she couldn't care less--much to Beck's disgust.

* CelebrityParadox: Creator/JuliaRoberts was named dropped by Dani in one scene. The actress guest starred in [[Series/LawAndOrder the parent series]]. She was also in a high profile relationship with Creator/BenjaminBratt (who played regular Ray Curtis on the same show), as well as the co-lead of ''Film/RunawayBride'' which also starred Creator/ChristopherMeloni himself.

* StockholmSyndrome: Belinda becomes so attached to Victor Bodine despite his shitty treatment believing that he's the only one who will ever care for her.
* WouldHitAGirl: Victor has no qualms physically assaulting his prostitutes. He also brutally beats up Sister Peg when kidnapping Belinda.

* AbsenteeActor: Creator/BDWong (George Huang) sits this episode out.

A paw print tattoo is found on the lower back of a young teenage girl, leading detectives to Broder House, a foster home for young girls. There it is learned that the victim was one of three dead girls who had ended up as a prostitute for a man named Victor. To catch him, the detectives work to convince Victor's underage girlfriend Belinda, with assistance from future recurring character Sister Peg.
