* AnIcePerson: Donnie.

* ColdSniper: May is training Skye to be one. And given that her first kill passes without her even raising her pulse, apparently successfully (perhaps ''too'' successfully...)

* ExactWords: Coulson's advice to Simmons is to avoid lying since she admits she's terrible at it and just be selective with the truth. And she does it very well.

* AmbiguousSituation, AmbiguouslyEvil: Ward claims to Fitz that instead of simply killing Fitz and Simmons outright in "Ragtag", he gave them a chance to survive when he ejected them out of the Bus. Given that it's unclear if he really did ShootTheDog in the flashback in that episode after letting it escape despite being ordered to kill it (or if Garrett himself did it as another lesson), he could be telling the truth.

* StunGuns: Invoked rather inconsistently here, with May and (initially) Skye using the ICER stun guns on the HYDRA mooks, while Hunter is armed instead with a fully lethal sniper rifle. Handy since this allows May to non-fatally stop Hunter from sniping Simmons. But then Skye apparently kills Donnie using a lethal sniper rifle when an ICER likely would have been just as effective.
** Not really: all three characters are carrying non-ICER weapons. May shoots Hunter with a real bullet - but Hunter survives because of a bullet-proof vest. And if Skye had shot Donnie with an ICER, it would have just allowed Hydra to take him anyway, something Coulson didn't want.

* UnrelaibleNarrator or VillainWithGoodPublicity: Skye mentions to Ward that she's looked up his family, and can't find any evidence of the horrifically abusive home life that he'd claimed anywhere. Ward claims they're just good at hiding that side of their nature from the public.
