* PettyChildhoodGrudge: This is the whole schtick with Doofenshmirtz. He had something bad happen in his childhood and he wants the world to pay for the injustice. Of special note is when a childhood bully who always threw a bucket of water came to town and he was planning to splash her with a giant bucket. When he met her again, she was a nice woman, and even apologized for doing that and they were on good terms... Until she found out about his plan of revenge and called him out for still being spiteful for something that happened when they were kids.

* MeaningfulGift: Defying the GiftOfTheMagiPlot, Jeremy and Candace get each other gifts that absolutely reflect their knowledge of each other. Candace had sold a necklace to get Jeremy a silver guitar he'd been eyeing, and Jeremy had sold his old guitar to get Candace a pair of earrings that she'd been looking at. The two of them are delighted with how well they know each other.

* JumpRopeBlunders: In "When Worlds Collide," Perry gets caught in Dr. Doofenshmirtz's double dutch jump rope machine and, after jumping for a few seconds, trips and gets tangled up in the ropes. Doofenshmirtz is surprised at this because he didn't even intend it as a trap for Perry. Later, while Doofenshmirtz and Perry are fighting, they activate it again and try to fight and jump simultaneously. When Doofenshmirtz almost gets knocked off the side of the building, Perry throws him a jump rope to hold onto, but this starts the machine [[RuleOfThree one more time]], banging Doofenshmirtz across the side of the building as the rope turns.

* MistakenForInsane: [[CassandraTruth Candace]] suffers from a severe psychosis because she can't convince her mother that her little brothers make a habit of violating the laws of common sense, physics, or current technological progress. Every time she tries to expose them, some [[ContrivedCoincidence remarkably convenient plot device]] eliminates the evidence just as their mother arrives on the scene. Her mother has commented on this being a delusion.

* ObliviousToLove:
** Was a typical case with Phineas and Isabella, with Isabella making obvious advances towards him as early as the pilot episode, and him being so obsessed/distracted with his latest project that he fails to notice, but the "Summer Belongs To You" special [[UpToEleven takes the cake]]. In a show known for [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall leaning frequently on the fourth wall]], this episode has Isabella singing an [[TearJerker adorably sad]] song about her affections for him, followed by a sour depression when he fails once again to notice her affections, all of which takes place in Paris (referred to by the various characters as "The City of Love"), but not a minute later, he laments for each of the OTHER unfortunate couples, who have very obvious attractions to each other, causing Isabella to shake in rage. All the while the idea of Isabella perhaps liking him is completely alien to him. Despite that, though, she does get a well-deserved hug from him later in the episode after she rallies him from an unrelated depression on his part.

** Also applied by Candace in "Bad Hair Day". Phineas and Ferb build Candace a hair regenerator after Candace botches an attempt to give herself a new haircut. They tell her to sit in it for 30 minutes on setting 5, but since she's on a time crunch, she reasons that it will work in ten seconds on setting 20.
