* ''Manga/CityHunter'':
** Manga: [[SerialKiller The BMW Devil]], an early VillainOfTheWeek, drives an expensive car to abduct, [[SerialRapist rape]], and then murder young women. This unfortunate fate befalls one woman's sister, prompting her to seek out the City Hunter, [[HitmanWithAHeart Ryo Saeba]]. Upon learning of Ryo's involvement, the Devil murders his one accomplice before trying to murder Ryo as well. Boasting he plans to double his body count, then double it again and again, the Devil attempts to rape his last victim's sister before Ryo interferes. The Devil furiously attacks them both, furious with them for interfering with his "pleasure".
** Anime: The [[NoNameGiven unnamed leader]] of the [[TerroristsWithoutACause Black Army]] is one of the most dangerous villains ever faced by Ryo Saeba. Under his command, the Black Army committed acts of terrorism in several countries, and every time he hypnotized an innocent woman to make her believe she was the leader of the group, using her to do the dirty works in his place. After obtaining a nuke, the leader sends a ransom of one hundred billion yen to the Japanese government, threatening to blow up all of Tokyo if they don't pay within 24 hours. When the young Rumi sees them, the Black Army [[SheKnowsTooMuch makes several attempts on her life]], but she's saved by Ryo Saeba. The Black Army leader decides to kidnap and hypnotize Ryo's partner Kaori, and uses her to try to kill both Rumi and Ryo, and also to lead his henchmen from a distance. Once the police find the nuke's location, they send cars to evacuate the area and some agents to stop the terrorists, but the Black Army [[CopKiller massacres all of them]]. Later, the leader orders Kaori to shoot Ryo, and when the police find his position and come to arrest him, he asks her to activate the nuke and destroy Tokyo immediately out of spite.

* ''[[Manga/AmalgamOfDistortion Amalgam of Distortion]]'': [[MadScientist Sara Warren]], SAI's head scientist, experiments on countless people, turning them into horrific monstrosities to sell on the black market, even eating one alive. Becoming obsessed with high-schooler Rokumichi Kusaba, Sara creates a lifelike hologram of a child to jump on a train track, forcing Rokumichi to risk his own life to save the fake child. When Rokumichi escapes her laboratory, Sara sends her other experiments to hunt him down while kidnapping his LoveInterest, Yayoi Hina. Sara is also revealed to have manipulated one of her follower's memories to make him think she was his savior from the harm she had put him in, and also manipulates another young man into becoming a SerialKiller. Ever obsessed with [[AGodAmI her own god complex]], Sara also subjected her own unborn children the same procedures as Rokumichi, hoping to create a race of immortal being while turning the other five billion people on the planet into more monsters. Beautiful and sadistic, Sara cements herself as Rokumichi's most dangerous enemy.

** "[[Recap/TheBigOS1E08MissingCat Missing Cat]]": Eugene Grant is a truly despicable MadScientist convinced that [[AGodAmI he is a god]] due to his recent discoveries in transmutation. To constantly improve his alchemic transmutations, Eugene kidnaps innocents by the dozens and transforms them into pain-stricken abominations that he keeps [[AndIMustScream alive]] and on display for no particular reason. When many of his old partners abandon him because of his depravity, Eugene has one mauled by one of his monsters, and kidnaps two of his former compatriots' son Roy before turning the boy into [[BalefulPolymorph a cat]], following this up by murdering said couple in front of their son. Eugene proceeds to transform Roy into a monstrous chimera, then sics it on Roger Smith while he holds Smith's partner Dorothy at gunpoint, ordering Roy to destroy first Smith, then all else in his path. Despite being a VillainOfTheWeek, Eugene Grant handily stood out as the most wicked and irredeemable monster in the series alongside Alan Gabriel.

* ''Manga/{{Damned}}'', by Masanori Kadowaki & Creator/TetsuyaSaruwatari: Todoroki Jin's long-lost friend, [[EvilFormerFriend Ryoga]], turned out to be something far worse. After Jin tries to save the latter from his second execution, the latter responded by stopping Jin's heart. After he willfully sold himself to Tokyo Company and become one of the top employees, Ryoga used the slaves that the Tokyo Company kidnapped for his own twisted [[ImmortalityImmorality immortality experiment]] by stitching their dead bodies into a huge giant and change their neurons so that they could ended up becoming a killing machine while [[AndIMustScream keeping their consciousness alive]]. Ryoga then proceeds to cruelly tell Jin that the friendship he formed in the past was fake and Jin was nothing but his spare parts. After Jin spares Ryoga, the latter then taunts Jin that he will continue his experiments. Before the final confrontation, Ryoga threatens the secretary to give him the whereabouts of the CEO and then blows his head off after saying that the CEO has interested in Jin, and kills anyone who tries to stop him from meeting the CEO. Although having numerous redeeming qualities in the past, Ryoga is revealed in the present to have become nothing than a hyper-human sociopath who tries to rule Tokyo as [[AGodAmI a god]].

** [[Characters/DemonSlayerKimetsuNoYaibaMuzanKibutsuji Muzan Kibutsuji]] was born a sickly child in the Ubuyashiki family, but through a doctor's attempts to cure him incidentally became the [[MonsterProgenitor first]] and mightiest demon and grew obsessed with [[ThePerfectionist his own perfection]]. [[TheCorrupter Corrupting]] others into demons by preying on their weakness at their lowest then infecting them using the special properties of his blood, Muzan develops the system where demons [[ToServeMan feed on humans]] en masse for power, leading to countless innocent deaths as he maintains this system for over one thousand years, with his blood poisoning and painfully killing any who so much as utter his name. Muzan is also personally responsible for killing the mother and siblings of the young hero Tanjiro Kamado, as well as the demonic transformation of his younger sister Nezuko. When encountered, Muzan escapes notice by turning an innocent man into a demon and siccing him on his wife before killing several other humans in a fit of pique when they trouble him. Muzan orders countless humans slaughtered, and when his subordinates, the Lower Ranks, [[YouHaveFailedMe disappoint him]], Muzan [[BadBoss massacres the survivors]], deciding they are too weak to survive. Later attempting to massacre all of the Demon Slayers, [[ThanatosGambit when Muzan knows death is inevitable]] he intends to turn Tanjiro into a demon to kill them in his stead. A sadistic, cowardly sociopath predicating a survivalist society of bloodshed to maintain his own safety, Muzan stands responsible for the most death and suffering in the series.
** "[[Recap/DemonSlayerKimetsuNoYaibaMugenTrainArc Mugen Train Arc]]": The twisted [[{{Sadist}} Enmu]], Lower Rank 1, is the only survivor of Muzan's purge due to impressing Muzan with his love of suffering. Muzan promptly empowers Enmu and sets him after Tanjiro. With [[ForcedSleep power over dreams and sleep]], Enmu puts Tanjiro and his friends into pleasant dreams that reflect their hearts' desires, while tricking humans into entering their dreams to destroy their minds. Enmu promises to give train passengers kind dreams, but delights in twisting their dreams into horrific nightmares, and when cornered by Tanjiro opts to fuse with the train itself and try to devour all 200 passengers, gloating how he means to [[MindRape torment his victims]] before he [[ToServeMan eats them]] to strengthen himself even more.

* ''Anime/AlteredCarbonResleeved'': [[TheDon Tanaseda Sr.]], the founder of the [[{{Yakuza}} Mizumoto Syndicate]], developed the Mizumoto system while supposedly sacrificing his life for his successors. In truth, Tanaseda [[FamilialBodySnatcher has his own personality overwrite his supposed successors]], killing them and allowing him to take on their identity, with his first victim being [[OffingTheOffspring his own son]]. [[IHaveYourWife Holding the tattoo artist Holly's parents hostage]] to get her to perform the transfer, Tanaseda later destroys their Stacks to murder them, and when exposed, attempts to slaughter his Syndicate and simply start over.

* ''Manga/{{Appleseed}}'' franchise: Deunan Knute and Briareos Hecatoncheires have dealt with plenty of dangerous criminals as part of their job to uphold the peace in Olympus, but none have been quite as vile as these three:
** 1988 [[OriginalVideoAnimation OVA]]: [[NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist A.J. Sebastian]] is the terrorist head of the Human Liberation Union. A {{cyborg}} with [[FantasticRacism an undying hatred for bioroids]] and a lengthy conviction history, Sebastian is [[EstablishingCharacterMoment introduced]] assisting his squad in holding several bioroid families hostage, [[CopKiller killing a cop]] tasked to guard him. Partnering with the cop Charon, Sebastian ultimately plots to deactivate the Gaia computer controlling Olympus's power, just so he can activate the Multipede Cannon and use it to destroy the city. Killing anybody who stands in his way, Sebastian, despite his claims of desiring freedom for humans, is willing to kill both bioroid and human alike during his eventual Multipede destruction spree, ultimately caring more about the carnage.
** 2004 film: [[FantasticRacism Colonel Hades]] is [[EstablishingCharacterMoment introduced]] inspecting an army of Landmates he commissioned for a terrorist attack he soon executes against Bioroid life extension facilities in a thorough attempt at [[FinalSolution genocide]]. When he learns of the Appleseed, which would make those facilities moot, Hades intercepts the ESWAT team sent by Athena on a secret mission to retrieve it and massacres the team save for Deunan and Briareos, who escape the bloodbath, as well as a single Regular Army mole who shared his feelings towards Bioroids. When Briareos reveals to the Regular Army that the Elders were using them for their own genocidal means, Hades tries to kill him and Deunan over General Uranus's objections. A genocidal racist [[RevengeByProxy whose hatred of Bioroids was ultimately a means to nurse prior grievances against Deunan's father]] and [[ItsAllAboutMe stroke his own ego]], Hades shows himself to be the most personal menace Deunan ever had to deal with during her ESWAT career in any continuity.
** ''Alpha'' (2014): [[NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist Talos]] is a [[FallenHero former soldier]] turned leader of Triton who seeks to rebuild the world [[InTheirOwnImage in his own violent image]]. After deducing that a utopia is an impossible dream, Talos began to see [[WarIsGlorious war as the new way of life]], seeking to find and awaken an Olympus war machine in order to cause untold amounts of destruction. When he kidnaps his old war pal Olsen and the bioroid Iris, Talos torturously downloads the whereabouts of the war machine from Olsen's mind, gunning him down afterwards. After finding that the war machine is designated to destroy to New York, Talos allows it to happen, hoping to showcase his power to the rest of world with the intent to sacrifice his own citizens. Despite claiming to be helping people, Talos is nothing but a power-hungry sociopath with [[AGodAmI a messiah complex]].

* ''Anime/BelladonnaOfSadness'': The [[AristocratsAreEvil nameless baron]] represents the [[DecadentCourt worst excesses and cruelties]] of the nobility. When Jeanne cannot pay the exorbitant fee for a wedding, the baron [[DroitDuSeigneur rapes her]] and allows his courtiers to rape her as well. Taxing the people into starvation, the baron tortures his tax collectors for not taking in enough, including Jeanne's husband Jean, whose hand he removes. When he finds his wife sleeping with a Page, he kills them both, while also growing jealous of Jeanne's growing power and influence as a witch in curing TheBlackDeath. When Jeanne refuses his overtures, he angrily orders her [[BurnTheWitch burned at the stake]].

* ''Manga/BloodBlockadeBattlefront'': [[SatanicArchetype Blank, The King of Despair]], the ArcVillain of the anime's first season, is an otherworldly entity that has caused [[HistoricalRapSheet countless tragedies for thousands of years]]. [[DemonicPossession Possessing]] the body of a teenage boy, Blank manipulates the boy's sister into bringing him the hero, Leonardo "Leo" Watch, so his can use Leo's magical eyes for his master plan, promising to leave her brother's body if she does so. As soon as she does, Blank [[ILied goes back on his promise]], fatally shooting her and revealing that he intends to use Leo's eyes to destroy the barrier around the city of Hellsalem's Lot that keeps Earth from being torn apart by an alternate dimension. When his ally accuses Blank's apocalypse of being too dull, Blank responds by telepathically throwing around buildings and summoning a horde of zombies, looking on with delight as the terrified citizens are slaughtered.

* ''Anime/BungoStrayDogsDeadApple'': [[BigBad Tatsuhiko Shibusawa]] is a [[MadScientist sociopathic researcher]] obsessed with finding the Ultimate Ability. To his ends, Shibusawa forced [[WouldHurtAChild gifted children]], most notably [[TheHero Atsushi Nakajima]], to endure torturous experiments so he can activate their Abilities. Shibusawa's curiosities to see people's Abilities in action would lead him to cause the Dragon's Head Conflict in Yokohama that lasted for 88 days and resulted in 88 deaths. In the present, Shibusawa unleashes a mysterious fog onto the world that led to hundreds of people murdered by their own Abilities, before crystalizing said Abilities to collect, and would collaborate with Omasu Dazai and Fyodor Dostoevsky to spread his fog throughout Yokohama. Shibusawa would then backstab Dazai before [[FusionDance fusing]] with him to become a dragon and destroy Yokohama. Becoming the "Singularity", Shibusawa allows his fog to engulf the planet and kill off every single Ability-user so he could absorb their Abilities to make himself more powerful.

*** ''[[Anime/DetectiveConanFilm01TheTimeBombedSkyscraper The Time-Bombed Skyscraper]]'': [[spoiler:Teiji Moriya is an architect with a [[MadArtist violent obsession with symmetry]]. Unsatisfied with his past asymmetrical works, he plans to [[MadBomber destroy them in disproportionately violent ways]] while taking revenge on [[Characters/CaseClosedShinichiKudo Shinichi Kudo]], who had unintentionally wronged him in the past. Starting by burning down four of his past works, he stole bomb-making materials and created plastic explosives to play a game of cat-and-mouse with Shinichi and the Tokyo police, bombing a park [[WouldHurtAChild with children in it]], a public square, and the Tokyo railway, causing further chaos by designing the bombs so that they explode if the trains slow down, forcing them to speed up. When finally revealed, [[TakingYouWithMe he attempts to blow up his own house and take the detectives with him]]. After being arrested, he reveals his greatest plan, destroying his "ultimate disgrace", a skyscraper and a major city center, starting by bombing the exits so that more people will die, all the while taunting Kogoro and Shinichi about Ran being trapped underneath the rubble, with the largest bomb, about to die]].
*** ''[[Anime/DetectiveConanFilm15QuarterOfSilence Quarter of Silence]]'': [[ItsAllAboutMe Keisuke Yamao]] is an unemployed villager of Kitanosawa who had been living with [[TheGamblingAddict a gambling addiction]]. To pay his debt, he had raided a jewelry store, killed the owner of the store, and stole the diamonds. While [[DrunkDriver driving drunk]] to his hideout, Yamao accidentally kills the younger sister of his friend Mizuki Toono, and while disposing of her body, the son of his other friend Fuyumi Tachihara witnesses the scene. When Yamao attempts to kidnap him, he accidentally causes Touma to fall from a cliff. After hiding the diamonds Yamao confesses his crime and is sent to jail. Eight years after, when Yamao discovered that the place where he had hidden his jewels are submerged in a dam, and that his past would be revealed, he tries to [[HeKnowsTooMuch kill those aware of his past]] and [[BigDamPlot bomb the dam]] to recover the diamonds, which would kill many innocents, all to Yamao's apathy, if not delight.

Leon is a {{greed}}y man who, to keep the jewel to himself, kills numerous people, and plans to destroy the parts of Singapore that the tournament is in--including an entire populated hotel--and to create a city on top of the debris.
* ''Anime/CastleInTheSky'': [[VileVillainSaccharineShow Romuska Palo Ul/Ur Laputa]], known as [[BigBad Colonel Muska]], is a ruthless government secret agent who tried to take the flying city of Laputa by force, being actually a descendant of the Laputean monarchy just like [[LivingMacGuffin Sheeta]]. Along the way, he commits many heinous crimes such as kidnapping Sheeta and Pazu, threatening to [[WouldHurtAChild kill Pazu]] if Sheeta didn't give him [[MementoMacGuffin the amulet]] that held the power to control Laputa. When he finally conquers Laputa, however, he [[DrunkOnTheDarkSide becomes mad with power]] and proceeds to toss his own henchmen from the floating city, all while laughing about it, and intends to use the flying castle's power to wipe out everything in his way so that he can [[TakeOverTheWorld become ruler of the world]]. He also threatens to shoot Sheeta's ears off after she tried to convince him that the people left Laputa because it was uninhabitable, and when Pazu arrived on the scene, Muska threatens the lives of both children unless they surrendered the crystal back to him. Throughout the film, Muska showed manipulative and emotionally abusive tendencies, a sense of entitlement, greed, hunger for power, revulsion of "disgusting" natural wildlife that he wanted to have burned down, and a willingness to hurt or even kill children if it got him closer to [[ItsAllAboutMe what he wanted]].

** ''Shinjuku Private Eyes'' movie: [[BigBad Shinji Mikuni]] is the leader of the terrorist group which torments Ai Shindo on a daily basis. Having kidnapped her father years ago, Shinji forced the latter to build drones, which later [[DrivenToSuicide drove him to suicide]] as soon as he realized [[WarForFunAndProfit what Shinji's master plan]] really was. In the present, Shinji targets Ai in order to get the key and release the drones her father locked away, doing so by sending armed attackers after her even when she's in public. Shinji is also obsessed with killing Ryo, which he attempts to do by swaying his childhood friend Kaori over to his side, and getting angry when she refuses. After attacking the innocent people of Shinjuku with the drones and killing one of his own partners, Shinji turns the gun on Kaori herself for not wanting to help him gain power, and makes a speech to her about how MightMakesRight, and she'll die for not being as strong as he is.

** ''[[Anime/CowboyBebopKnockinOnHeavensDoor Knockin' on Heaven's Door]]'': [[TeensAreMonsters Lee Sampson]] is a teenage [[TheCracker hacker]] addicted to video games and thrills, who has decided to try his hand at being a "real terrorist" just for [[ForTheEvulz fun]] and [[FameThroughInfamy infamy]]. Allying with [[TragicVillain Vincent Volaju]], Sampson uses his hacking skills to help Vincent find dispersal methods for his lethal nanovirus, and works with him to bomb a metropolitan area and unleash the virus, killing dozens and endangering hundreds more. Having such disregard for human life that he reacts to Vincent killing an innocent man with less emotion than losing at a video game, Sampson is ultimately hoping to use his skills to ensure Vincent's plan of total genocide of all life on Mars succeeds, and takes a special joy in broadcasting a haunting message for the entire planet that foretells its coming annihilation.

* ''Anime/CyberneticsGuardian'': [[MadScientist Adler Einstein]] is an elitist scientist who wants to [[KillThePoor exterminate his city's slums]]. When another scientist, Layla, tries to research a peaceful solution to the violence in the slums, Adler tries to have her test subject, John Stalker, killed. Using a mechanical suit to get revenge after John injures him, Adler goes on a rampage, [[CopKiller killing two innocent police officers]] and threatening Layla while trying to murder John.

** ''[[Anime/Cyborg009CallOfJustice Call of Justice]]'': [[BigBad Emperor]] is the mysterious leader of the [[AncientConspiracy Blessed]]. In order to [[AGodAmI evolve the human race more to his liking]], the Emperor resolves to initiate a process that will kill 95% of the human population all so he bring 5% under his control. After his initial plan fails, Emperor decides to combine his remaining powers with 001's psychic powers so he can "reset" humanity and rebuild their society from scratch. When his subordinate, Catalina, [[HeelFaceTurn betrays him]] after forming a bond with 009, Emperor punishes her by [[MindRape wiping her entire mind and reducing her down to her base instincts]]. Emperor then announces his intention to do this to all of humanity so he can reprogram them to worship him as a god. Though at first appearing to be a well-intentioned being, the Emperor's [[NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist true colors]] are eventually revealed to be that of a [[ItsAllAboutMe egotistical]] lunatic, who even admits that he "never really had [a heart] to begin with."

* ''Anime/TheDaggerOfKamui'' (also known as ''Revenge of the Ninja Warrior''): The villainous [[BigBad Tenkai]] aims to take over Japan for himself. Having the hero Jiro's adoptive family murdered, Tenkai trains him as a ninja and [[ManipulativeBastard manipulates Jiro]] into [[SelfMadeOrphan killing his own biological father]], before ordering Jiro's village to be slaughtered to the last man. When Jiro learns of his true mother, Tenkai has her murdered too, attempting to manipulate Jiro into leading him to the lost treasure of Captain Kidd in the West, also using Jiro's brainwashed sister as one of his soldiers. Using a body double, Tenkai attempts to have Jiro and all his friends killed, with the double even trying to rape Jiro's sister as well. Finally, during the downfall of the Shogunate, Tenkai attempts to take advantage of the war to finally seize control of Japan, having allegiance to nothing but [[AmbitionIsEvil his own ambition]].

* ''VideoGame/DragonSlayer'' (1992 [[OriginalVideoAnimation OVA]]): [[BigBad Ackdam, the Demon Lord]], is a powerful EvilSorcerer who invades the kingdom of Faaren, massacring everyone in his path, wiping out the capital city and personally killing the king. Ackdam proceeds to set up a horrific regime where citizens are starved, enslaved and killed at the will of the king and his minions, opposed only by a small rebellion and the renegade prince Sirius. When Sirius rescues a village from Ackdam's minions, Ackdam reacts by sending his chief minion Zagi, in dragon form, to wipe out the village to the last man and attempts to capture Sirius to execute him with his captive mother the Queen, wishing to rule Faaren no matter how many people have to die.

* ''[[Manga/JinzouShoujo Artificial Maiden]]'': [[CorruptCorporateExecutive Kai]] is a 240-year-old [[AlchemyIsMagic alchemist]] who runs a business that specializes in cloning. Kai places the clones in a virtual paradise before harvesting their bodies for his clients. Realizing that his assistant had given a clone of Satonaka to a married couple, Kai he murders him and sends the Crow to retrieve the body; the Crow [[YouKilledMyFather murders Musumi's parents]], and reduces him to a brain. Learning that Musumi was still alive, Kai kidnaps him, and schemes to marry Nakahara for the family fortune, uncaring if she died should her brain not be transferred. An [[LackOfEmpathy apathetic]] man, Kai isn't above murdering his own Jinzous if they were to inconvenience him, and not even Satonaka is immune to his wrath; Kai tricks Satonaka into releasing him from a trap by appealing to his sensitive nature, only to stab him to death. Desiring [[{{Greed}} only to make a profit]], Kai cares nothing on the effect his illegal acts have on those whose lives he creates.

* ''Manga/BlackClover'':
** [[WordsCanBreakMyBones The Kotodama Devil]] (Word Devil), real name Zagred, is revealed as the true BigBad behind most ills in the manga to date. Long ago, this demon [[TheChessmaster swayed the humans]] of the Clover Kingdom into attacking the elves, exterminating the entire race, before possessing their leader Licht to destroy the human world. Defeated, Zagred reincarnated the elves with a dark spell, letting one elf named Patry lead the terrorist Eye of the Midnight Sun to do as much damage as possible and revive the others to destroy humanity. Revealing himself, Zagred gloats about all he has done to the world before trying to manifest fully, then tortures Patry, [[BreakThemByTalking breaking him spiritually]] to transform him into a mindless dark elf and gleefully has him attempt to wipe out the heroes. After stealing Patry's Four-Leaf Clover Grimoire and transforming it into a Five-Leaf Clover Grimoire to obtain more power, Zagred proceeds to open a doorway to pure darkness, seeking to [[OmnicidalManiac consume the human and elven races alike]].
** Rades Spirito is a vicious, vengeful EvilSorcerer who decides to attack the Kingdom of Clover. Using his curse which enslaves the dead to him, Rades bombards the city with magic blasts, and unleashes his zombies to devour everything and everyone they find. Rades then takes time to mock and terrorize Mary, a little girl before [[WouldHurtAChild trying to kill her]] as well, only being stopped by [[TheHero Asta's]] intervention. When Rades reveals his [[FreudianExcuse unbelievably petty motivation]] for wanting Clover destroyed, he was kicked out of the Magic Knights for using dangerous magic, he proceeds to sneer that "reasons are best when they're simple" and declares his belief that as one with powerful Mana, [[SocialDarwinist he is free to do whatever he wants to those weaker than him]], even if he is destroying a country and killing everyone inside.

Freese was murdered by jealous nobles and swore revenge upon the Clover Kingdom upon death, leading to his consciousness being absorbed into his amulet where [[VengefulGhost his rage and hatred for the Kingdom grew]]. Fourteen years later, Freese possessed his daughter Karna after she finds the amulet and murders one of the [[AssholeVictim nobles responsible for his death]] and travels to the future to enact his plans. Tagged along by Yami, Freese forces him to fight his own allies on the threat that he would kill if otherwise and constantly [[KickTheDog mocks him for not being able to kill Karna]] as well as forcing Magic Knights, including Yuno and Klaus, to attack their friends. Teaming up with the Eye of the Midnight Sun, Freese and his new allies break various Mana seals around the Kingdom to combine the Mana with the power of the Red Moon to destroy the kingdom, innocent civilians included. After being stopped by Yami, Freese goes OneWingedAngel and attempts to slaughter and destroy everyone in sight. While he once cared for his daughter, Freese is now nothing but a depraved and wrathful spirit consumed by hatred and willing to use his own flesh and blood as [[AbusiveParents a puppet in his plan]].

After being foiled by Kyo and the rest of the Tengu clan, Shuhei manipulates a member of the snake demon clan into having Kyo poisoned before invading the Tengu territory, before attempting to injure Misao badly to abduct her. Shuhei gleefully states he doesn't care how badly he hurts her as long as he can force her to bear his heir.

Learning that Musumi was still alive, he kidnaps him, and implants a parasitic plant inside Nakahara, stating that she would die if her brain isn't transferred to a clone's body. An [[LackOfEmpathy apathetic]] man, Kai isn't above murdering his own Jinzous if they were to [[YouHaveFailedMe inconvenience him]], and not even Satonaka is immune to his wrath; he tricks Satonaka into releasing him from a trap by appealing to his sensitive nature, only to stab him to death. Desiring [[{{Greed}} only to make a profit]], Kai cares nothing on the effect his illegal acts have on those whose lives he creates.

One of their victims was [[Characters/FairyTailErzaScarlet Erza Scarlet]], who was [[ColdBloodedTorture brutalized]] to such an extent that she lost an eye.
** [[Recap/FairyTailEdolasArc "Edolas" arc]]: [[TheCaligula Faust]], the King of [[Characters/FairyTailEdolas Edolas]], supposedly desires eternal magic for his kingdom, but in the end [[NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist only wants it for himself]]. He conducted a plan called "Anima" to absorb all of Earth Land into Edolas as Lacrima for fuel, but his son Mystogan eliminated most of the portals save for one in Magnolia City. Consumed by greed, he eventually orders the genocide of all Exceeds and uses his army's desperation for Magic to rile them. During "Code ETD", he siphons the Dragon Slayers of their magic to create a chain to throw the giant Lacrima containing Magnolia City residents and facilitate in Extalia's destruction. When Mystogan thwarts it, Faust personally leads a final assault in the Dorm Anima, callously shooting down his son and promising to turn Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel into [[HumanResources living batteries]] to fund future Anima plan attempts. His burning of Coco's legs and disregard for Pantherlily's life in a crossfire ultimately out Faust as a power-hungry and [[{{Greed}} avaricious]] king.
** [[Recap/FairyTailTartarosArc "Tartaros" arc]]: The "Etherious" [[HavingABlast Jackal]], member of [[Characters/FairyTailTartaros Tartaros]]'s Nine Demon Gates, is a [[MadBomber sadistic psychopath]] who assassinated the Magic Council. A lover of {{Sadistic Choice}}s, he forced a former councilman to choose between his life and that of his own granddaughter. Later, he imposes one upon Lucy where he will either detonate an elder councilman or a pregnant woman. Already viewing humans as mere playthings, Jackal later pettily kills one of his own guildmates, showing his [[AxCrazy monstrous nature]] extends to even fellow demons.
** ''[[Anime/FairyTailDragonCry Dragon Cry]]'': [[DragonWithAnAgenda Zash Caine]] was once a wizard of Fiore who fled to Stella after a failed coup. He [[EvilChancellor went into the service]] of [[BigBad King Animus]] and then proceeded to kill his own allies to prove himself. In the present day, Zash uses mind control to force the White Tiger squadron to kill each other in order to steal the Dragon Cry. Zash shows no hesitation in trying to kill the Fairy Tail wizards, and is even willing to mind control others to do so. It is revealed that Zash keeps female prisoners to [[HumanResources draw blood from]] to power his own magic, and takes Lucy captive in an attempt to draw blood from her. Towards the end, Zash betrays Animus and takes the Dragon Cry for himself. He proceeds to force Animus to go on a rampage and unseals the Quartum Army to eliminate the Fairy Tail wizards. He then activates the Dragon Cry in an attempt to destroy all of Fiore out of revenge for his exile, only failing when the power proves too much and incinerates him.
** ''[[Manga/FairyTail100YearsQuest 100 Years Quest]]'': [[OurDragonsAreDifferent Aldoron]], the [[GreenThumb Wood Dragon God]], regained his health and power by [[VampiricDraining leeching off the lives of innocents]] in the towns upon him when asleep. Upon awakening, Aldoron devours the life of 300,000 innocents before attempting to kill Fairy Tail and torture [[Characters/FairyTailNatsuDragneel Natsu]], intending to sweep over the land of Guilitina and [[OmnicidalManiac destroy all of it]]. Aldoron announces plans to consume the other four Dragon Gods and take the world, mocking any other who believes in peace with humankind.

** "With a Bang" case [[note]]originally "The Trembling Police Headquarters and 12 Million Hostages" in Japan[[/note]]: The [[MadBomber unnamed bomber]] is the BigBad of this story. Seven years ago, he and an accomplice used bomb threats in two apartment buildings to extort money from the police. Despite initially planning to not kill anyone, when his accomplice died from an accident caused by police miscommunication, the bomber, swearing vengeance against the police for their "dirty tricks", reactivated an undisarmed bomb, [[CopKiller killing the bomb technicians]] beside it. Four years later, he planted two sets of bombs, one at a Ferris wheel and another at an unknown hospital, using a tricky dilemma to force detective [[EnsembleDarkhorse Jinpei Matsuda]] into [[HeroicSacrifice sacrificing himself]] at the Ferris wheel to find the location of the second set. In the present, he critically injured Inspector Shiratori by bombing his car, before sending another bomb threat about two new sets of bombs, one at the Tokyo Tower and another at an unknown high school, once again aiming to to humiliate the police with the same dilemma. Willing to detonate bombs [[WouldHurtAChild despite being aware of children's presence]], the bomber shows nothing but amusement from the police's troubles. When finally cornered, the bomber breaks down and reveals his true colors, a pathetic criminal looking to cause violence and see the police ruined, his original thoughts of vengeance long gone.

*** ''The Time-Bombed Skyscraper'': Teiji Moriya is an architect with a [[MadArtist violent obsession with symmetry]]. Unsatisfied with his past asymmetrical works, he plans to [[MadBomber destroy them in disproportionately violent ways]] while taking revenge on [[Characters/CaseClosedShinichiKudo Shinichi Kudo]], who had unintentionally wronged him in the past. Starting by burning down four of his past works, he stole bomb-making materials and created plastic explosives to play a game of cat-and-mouse with Shinichi and the Tokyo police, bombing a park [[WouldHurtAChild with children in it]], a public square, and the Tokyo railway, causing further chaos by designing the bombs so that they explode if the trains slow down, forcing them to speed up. When finally revealed, [[TakingYouWithMe he attempts to blow up his own house and take the detectives with him]]. After being arrested, he reveals his greatest plan, destroying his "ultimate disgrace", a skyscraper and a major city center, starting by bombing the exits so that more people will die, all the while taunting Kogoro and Shinichi about Ran being trapped underneath the rubble, with the largest bomb, about to die.
*** ''Quarter of Silence'': [[ItsAllAboutMe Keisuke Yamao]] is an unemployed villager of Kitanosawa who had been living with [[TheGamblingAddict a gambling addiction]]. To pay his debt, he had raided a jewelry store, killed the owner of the store, and stole the diamonds. While [[DrunkDriver driving drunk]] to his hideout, Yamao accidentally kills the younger sister of his friend Mizuki Toono, and while disposing of her body, the son of his other friend Fuyumi Tachihara witnesses the scene. When Yamao attempts to kidnap him, he accidentally causes Touma to fall from a cliff. After hiding the diamonds Yamao confesses his crime and is sent to jail. Eight years after, when Yamao discovered that the place where he had hidden his jewels are submerged in a dam, and that his past would be revealed, he tries to [[HeKnowsTooMuch kill those aware of his past]] and [[BigDamPlot bomb the dam]] to recover the diamonds, which would kill many innocents, all to Yamao's apathy, if not delight.
*** ''The Fist of the Blue Sapphire'': [[CorruptCorporateExecutive Leon Lowe]] is a [[VillainWithGoodPublicity respected businessman]], [[PsychoPsychologist criminal behavior psychologist]], and [[DirtyCop former police officer]] who is responsible for keeping the jewel that to be the prize of a karate tournament in Singapore. Leon is a {{greed}}y man who, to keep the jewel to himself, kills numerous people, and plans to destroy the parts of Singapore that the tournament is in--including an entire populated hotel--and to create a city on top of the debris.

** [[BigBad Shiro]], real name [[ItsAllAboutMe Kotaro Yanigasawa]], was a MadScientist focused on utilizing {{Antimatter}} in a human body, and the reason [[WhyAmITicking Koro-sensei may destroy the world]]. To this end, he used the famed assassin the God Of Death as a human guinea pig in painful experiments, [[DomesticAbuse using his own fiancée]] as their liaison since Yanagisawa figured she was worthless as a hostage. When the God of Death escaped, destroyed the lab and took Yanigasawa's eye, the scientist formed the identity of Shiro and plotted his vengeance. He implanted a boy named Itona with the same tentacles and later [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness abandoned him to die when he'd served his purpose]]. Mutating the assassin's former protege into a monstrosity, he tested his new success by having him annihilate a giant building--and anybody inside--before attacking Koro-sensei and his students. Having the second God of Death attack Koro-sensei, Yanagisawa opted to then have the students attacked, gloating how he'd kill every single one of them painfully and Korosensei would be forced to watch his class die before dying in despair. When his former fiancée's sister attempted to help Korosensei, Yanagisawa had her impaled through the chest and gloated how he'd intended to use her as a "[[ReplacementGoldfish replacement]]" for her sister.

** 1988 {[[OriginalVideoAnimation OVA]]: [[NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist A.J. Sebastian]] is the terrorist head of the Human Liberation Union. A {{cyborg}} with [[FantasticRacism an undying hatred for bioroids]] and a lengthy conviction history, Sebastian is [[EstablishingCharacterMoment introduced]] assisting his squad in holding several bioroid families hostage, [[CopKiller killing a cop]] tasked to guard him. Partnering with the cop Charon, Sebastian ultimately plots to deactivate the Gaia computer controlling Olympus's power, just so he can activate the Multipede Cannon and use it to destroy the city. Killing anybody who stands in his way, Sebastian, despite his claims of desiring freedom for humans, is willing to kill both bioroid and human alike during his eventual Multipede destruction spree, ultimately caring more about the carnage.

** ''Anime/BombermanBDamanBakugaiden'': From Series IV, [[BigBad Dark Koutei]], in the form of a {{giant eye|Of Doom}}, is the main, and worst, villain of the entire series. One thousand years ago, he and his army attempted to take over a solar system before being [[SealedEvilInACan locked away]] by the BigGood; another thousand years later he reemerges. He is a truly BadBoss: instead of just berating or even firing his minions, he locks them up in strange, inescapable domes, doomed to [[FateWorseThanDeath float around in space for all eternity]]. There's also the matter of how he procured his son: by kidnapping a child and [[TheCorrupter corrupting him]]. Koutei manages to be the most despicable villain in ''Bakugaiden'' without really trying.

Fuji and put the 8 million people in the surrounding area in danger, purely to harm the humans the Kaisers cared so much about. On several occasions, Dino Geist takes hostages, both human or Kaiser, to gain an advantage, then tries to kill them without a second thought once he got his way, in some cases even indulging in torture while waiting. [[BadBoss Even his own allies aren't safe from his ruthlessness]], as both [[FriendInTheBlackMarket Trader]] and his own crew are ultimately abandoned to the Kaisers without a second thought when it suits the pirate's goals. Near the end, Dino Geist attempts to kidnap young hero Kouta and take him off world as a trophy solely to spite Exkaiser for getting in his ways, and when that fails, [[WouldHurtAChild threatens his life]] get an advantage over his archenemy. Dino Geist eventually casts himself into the sun, [[SpitefulSuicide taking his own life]] to insult Exkaiser's belief that all life is a treasure rather than allowing the Kaiser to arrest him.

Thus, using the game "Rabbit Doubt" as a basis, Rei began [[TheChessmaster hypnotizing people into slaughtering others]], using her hypnotic abilities to convince her subjects that their own loved ones were coercing them into it. After getting well over a dozen innocents killed this way, Rei pulls the stunt once more, leading to the deaths of several teenagers in particularly gruesome ways, and, even when one survives, Rei uses the memory of her dead parents to trick the survivor into getting himself killed, promising him as he dies that she will continue her crusade against humanity for as long as she lives.

Vector even executes a victim himself to prove a point to Yugo about witnesses. When Yugo is caught, Vector calmly sells him out to be killed. Not content with this, Vector also keeps the scientist Chiren under his thumb with promises to return her to Zalem, extorting sex from her in the process. Vector later reveals what going to Zalem truly means: murdering people and harvesting them for their organs, which he does on a monthly basis, uncaring why so long as he profits.

** {{OVA}}: [[EvilutionaryBiologist Seichiro Hikawa]] is an amoral biologist seeking to forcibly evolve the human race solely so his genius can be recognized. Originally an UsefulNotes/ImperialJapan war criminal responsible for heinous experiments, Hikawa faded into exile following UsefulNotes/WorldWarII. When the enigmatic alien terrorist [[WellIntentionedExtremist Christella Revi]] sought his expertise for her own ends, Hikawa saw this as an opportunity to revive his failed dreams. Through Revi's resources, Hikawa enacts a plot to [[WaterSourceTampering contaminate Japan's water supply]] with an experimental serum to mutate its citizens into psychic metahumans enslaved to his will. When confronted with the fact his plan will undoubtedly fail and kill everyone in Japan instead, Hikawa in a rage unleashes the serum into the sewers anyways.

** [[MeaningfulName Shrieker]] was a sadistic SerialKiller in life who died shortly after murdering a woman named Shibata when, while he was walking to land the final stab, her infant son Youichi grabbed his shoelaces, causing him to fall out of a window. [[WouldHurtAChild Stealing Youichi's soul]] and putting it inside of a parakeet, the [[Characters/BleachArrancars Hollowfied]] Shrieker promises that if Youichi can escape him for three months at a time, he'll bring the child's mother back to life ([[ILied something he can't do]]). Able to track Youichi's soul, Shrieker kills and devours anybody who tries to help Youichi, feeding off the psychological torment it causes, as much as the actual souls.
** [[EvilutionaryBiologist Szayelaporro Granz]] is the Eighth [[Characters/BleachEspada Espada]]. When he was human, Granz was an unhinged alchemist who performed torturous experiments on prisoners captured by his brother. A sadistic player of games, Granz creates {{voodoo doll}}s out of his victims, and then proceeds to torture them to death, rupturing one organ at a time, as he cheerfully does to Renji Abarai and Uryu Ishida. He's also the [[BadBoss worst boss]] of any of the Espada, modifying the bodies of his subordinates so that in a pinch he can convert them to raw energy and devour them with ease, using their lives to fuel his own. A sickening scientist, who [[SmugSnake regards himself as the ultimate life form]], Granz takes pride in his unique brand of depravity, and regards everyone, including his late brother Ylfordt Granz, as beneath him, and, ultimately, disposable.

Claude torments his enemies before killing them by using his [[MasterOfIllusion powers]] to masquerade as one of their loved ones and seeks to turn Yin into the PersonOfMassDestruction Izanami. ** [[BigBad Shiro]], real name [[ItsAllAboutMe Kotaro Yanigasawa]], was a MadScientist focused on utilizing anti-matter in a human body, and the reason [[WhyAmITicking Koro-sensei may destroy the world]]. To this end, he used the famed assassin the God Of Death as a human guinea pig in painful experiments, [[DomesticAbuse using his own fiancée]] as their liaison since Yanagisawa figured she was worthless as a hostage. When the God of Death escaped, destroyed the lab and took Yanigasawa's eye, the scientist formed the identity of Shiro and plotted his vengeance. He implanted a boy named Itona with the same tentacles and later [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness abandoned him to die when he'd served his purpose]]. Mutating the assassin's former protege into a monstrosity, he tested his new success by having him annihilate a giant building--and anybody inside--before attacking Koro-sensei and his students. Having the second God of Death attack Koro-sensei, Yanagisawa opted to then have the students attacked, gloating how he'd kill every single one of them painfully and Korosensei would be forced to watch his class die before dying in despair. When his former fiancée's sister attempted to help Korosensei, Yanagisawa had her impaled through the chest and gloated how he'd intended to use her as a "[[ReplacementGoldfish replacement]]" for her sister.

When Lady Herbs refused to aid her, Moon Monarch kidnapped her twin daughters from her village, cruelly blinding both out of spite. To expand her own empire, Moon Monarch butchered and enslaved countless people in her conquest. Confronted by the heroes, Moon Monarch tries to kill one of her own servants for betraying her out of disgust with Moon Monarch's vile ways and tricks Blazing Sun into letting his guard down in combat, killing him and mocking his corpse for his naive trust. [[BadBoss Killing her own minions]] just to test out her new powers, Moon Monarch flies into a rage when she realizes she has been outsmarted and tries to murder both friend and foe to hide her humiliation.

** [[TeensAreMonsters Nero Aoi]] is a MadScientist who serves as the series's OverarchingVillain. A previous victim of bullying due to experimenting on animals, Nero decided to take over the world by killing off her classmates and configuring them into an army of remodeled corpses. She creates a serum that causes people to become insane and violent, and keeps her childhood friend Yuto around as a pet to molest and mentally torture. Resurrecting herself, she converts the Volunteer Club into the Guardians, a group of {{knight templar}}s who kill anyone suspected of sin. Kidnapping Kimberly to lure Geeko and company to her lair, she has them pitted against previously-deceased murderers and forces them to kill a crazed, out of control Kimberly that results in the death of Mizushima. Once again resurrecting herself, she partakes in the Mondokanoke prison where her remodeled corpses are tortured, and later hunts down Geeko and Bakutani once they escape, where she ends up killing Geeko and attempts to resurrect her as her most powerful fighter. [[ItsAllAboutMe Obsessed with fueling her own ego]], Nero stood out in this twisted world as a selfish psychopath hated by all.

Summoning a demon army to slaughter everyone on Earth, Sid cares nothing for the death and destruction as long as he gets to rule Hell, just to eradicate his own inferiority complex.
** "[[Recap/DevilMayCryTheAnimatedSeriesS1E3NotLove Not Love]]": Mayor Mike Hagel's [[TheButlerDidIt butler]] is a seemingly well-mannered servant whose [[PsychoSupporter true loyalty]] lies with the demon Belphegor, wishing to sacrifice the entire human population by condemning them to be EatenAlive. Working alongside the good-hearted demon Bradley in making the preparations for their master's arrival, the butler stabs the mayor and uses his body in a ritual to summon Belphegor for him to devour the entire city while claiming that they would eventually destroy the human world. A [[HumansAreTheRealMonsters human]] who stood in contrast to his benevolent and demonic partner-in-crime, almost driving his own race into extinction to satisfy his master, he served as an example of how some humans are even worse than demons.

* ''Manga/AirGear'': [[BigBad Sora Takeuchi]] emotionally abused his brother Nike and his girlfriend, the two people who loved him and trusted him most. He even {{brainwashed|AndCrazy}} the latter, and when they stopped being useful to him, he [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness threw them aside like trash]]. While he does have a slightly sympathetic past that paints him as a failure, this justification rings hollow when it's shown that he's orders of magnitude more powerful than every single rider except Ikki. Furthermore, he remorselessly killed several friends who were once in the same situation as him and who even helped him, all in the name of [[ItsAllAboutMe gaining personal power]]. He is either directly or indirectly responsible for all of the deaths in the series and he doesn't even think highly enough of the lives he's taken to feel something like satisfaction, let alone remorse or regret. After he is defeated, he spits in the face of redemption and tries to turn his girlfriend into a bomb so that [[SoreLoser he could kill everyone in the tower in which he was fighting so that even if he were to lose, his opponents wouldn't win]]. He only gave up afterwards when faced with overwhelming power that convinced him he would never be able to succeed. Even [[AxCrazy Nike]] looks tame and compassionate in comparison.

** [[MadArtist Gyokko]] is Upper Rank 5 and an insane artist who creates new pieces with his victims. Upon being sent to the swordsmith village, Gyokko decides to kill everyone in the village after murdering several smiths and taking others to fuse them into a macabre, [[AndIMustScream living]] sculpture that he tortures by sticking swords through them, gleefully describing how he plans to replicate it on a grander scale with the village innocents. A complete [[AttentionWhore narcissist]], when Gyokko finds a smith more dedicated to his work than in noticing him, Gyokko opts to begin torturing him to try to break his concentration.
** The twisted [[{{Sadist}} Enmu]], Lower Rank 1, is the only survivor of Muzan's purge due to impressing Muzan with his love of suffering. Muzan promptly empowers Enmu and sets him after Tanjiro. With [[ForcedSleep power over dreams and sleep]], Enmu puts Tanjiro and his friends into pleasant dreams that reflect their hearts' desires, while tricking humans into entering their dreams to destroy their minds. Enmu promises to give train passengers kind dreams, but delights in twisting their dreams into horrific nightmares, and when cornered by Tanjiro opts to fuse with the train itself and try to devour all 200 passengers, gloating how he means to [[MindRape torment his victims]] before he [[ToServeMan eats them]] to strengthen himself even more.
** Chapter 188 ("Sorrowful Love"): The unnamed [[SnakesAreSinister snake demon]] in Obanai Iguro's past was a low-level demon with a [[ChildEater hunger for children]]. Bargaining with Obanai's family, the demon would murder people to allow the all-female bandits to live off the stolen wealth in return for them providing the demon with newborn babies on a steady stream to consume. Upon Obanai's birth, the demon had him raised and prepared as a meal, as he was the only boy and had alluringly unusual eyes. Having Obanai's face mutilated to resemble her more, the demon massacred all but one of Obanai's family upon his escape before closing in on him to eat him as well.

*** Super Lifeform [[NamesToRunAwayFrom Genocide]], the [[{{Narcissist}} self-proclaimed ultimate perfection in the universe]], is the ultimate BigBad of the entire series, having been revealed to be behind the Sargasso Space Prison takeover from the beginning of the series. Throughout the series, Genocide regularly released deadly prisoners from Sargasso and subtly pushed them to attack Earth, where they carried out various plans that involved the mass slaughter of humans across the planet. Once arriving near the Earth's orbit, Genocide controls the Dagwon group to fight each other to the death [[ForTheEvulz for his own amusement]], and then attempts to [[AssimilationPlot merge with the entire Earth]], turning each and every living thing on the planet into a copy of himself and having them butcher any humans who manage to escape his merging wave.

** [[EvilSorcerer Zelada]] is an [[FantasticTerrorists extremist who uses acts of violence to incite hatred]] between humans and Semanians. Initially unseen, Zelada frequently uses the "latena" of fairies to [[NightOfTheLivingMooks kill others and enslave them as controlled corpses]]. Introduced posing as a subordinate of the smuggler Dennis Elbaji, Zelada demonstrates a prototype for a [[FantasticNuke "fairy dust" bomb]] on two police officers. Confronted by San-Teresa Police Detectives Kei Matoba and Tilarna Exedilica--the former of whom recognizes Zelada for slaughtering his platoon when Kei was in the military--Zelada exploits their superior's xenophobia in order to escape to the roof of a skyscraper where he intends to amplify his bomb's blast radius. Seemingly dying by falling off the roof--and with his bomb having been defused--Zelada eventually reveals himself to still be alive, having arranged the [[ConspicuouslyPublicAssassination assassination of two mayoral candidates]] in order to increase tensions between humans and Semanians. After capturing Kei and Tilarna, and killing a reporter who met up with them, Zelada claims to be acting in the best interest of the Semanians, but is called out for his xenophobia by Tilarna before Kei shows up to confront him.
** [[NouveauRiche Dennis Elbaji]] is the head of a "[[FantasticDrug fairy dust]]" manufacturing ring who [[VillainWithGoodPublicity hides behind his role]] as a nightclub owner, having [[SuperHumanTrafficking abducted over a hundred fairies to manufacture his product]] for his own personal gain. Introduced having the sorcerer Zelada test a fairy dust bomb on police officers, Elbaji makes Zelada toy with the corpses before having one corpse shoot both. Confronted by Tilarna in his nightclub after harassing her, Elbaji tries to have her shot once he realizes she is on a rescue mission. Subsequently defeating her in a sword fight, Elbaji takes Tilarna prisoner, professing to worship money on the drive to his facility. Later [[FieryCoverup setting his facility ablaze]], Elbaji makes a callous quip about how much the fire will cost him when he encounters Tilarna again. Defeated in a final duel thanks to Kei's intervention, Elbaji defiantly curses Tilarna out.

** The [[BitchInSheepsClothing seemingly cheerful and upbeat]] Company 1 lieutenant, Rekka Hoshimiya, is in truth a [[AxCrazy deranged member]] of the [[Characters/FireForceWhiteClad White-Clad]] who has been turning countless of innocent people into Infernals; most of whom are [[WouldHurtAChild children]] whom Rekka was experimenting on to find a suitable host for the Pilot's Light. Rekka would manipulate his subordinate, Tamaki Kotatsu, into bringing him a group of children and a mother to a building where he incinerates the mother before injecting her son, Nataku, with an Infernal Bug; when Nataku becomes a suitable host for the Pilot's Light, Rekka decides to experiment on the rest of the children anyway and [[FrameUp frame]] Tamaki for his crimes. When Tamaki tries to stop Rekka, he attempts to beat her to death. After Shinra Kusakabe saves Tamaki and battles Rekka, a frustrated Rekka uses his powers to burn down the building to kill Shinra, Tamaki and the children.

* ''Manga/{{Appleseed}}'' franchise:
** 1988 {{OVA}}: [[NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist A.J. Sebastian]] is the terrorist head of the Human Liberation Union. A {{cyborg}} with [[FantasticRacism an undying hatred for bioroids]] and a lengthy conviction history, Sebastian is [[EstablishingCharacterMoment introduced]] assisting his squad in holding several bioroid families hostage, [[CopKiller killing a cop]] tasked to guard him. Partnering with the cop Charon, Sebastian ultimately plots to deactivate the Gaia computer controlling Olympus's power, just so he can activate the Multipede Cannon and use it to destroy the city. Killing anybody who stands in his way, Sebastian, despite his claims of desiring freedom for humans, is willing to kill both bioroid and human alike during his eventual Multipede destruction spree, ultimately caring more about the carnage.

** [[TheDreaded Acnologia]], the Black Dragon of the Apocalypse, [[FallenHero was once a hero]] who protected humans from dragons. [[DrunkOnTheDarkSide Succumbing to bloodlust]] and a love of combat and destruction, Acnologia embraced his transformation into a black dragon, massacring the entire dragon race, even his own allies. Becoming a terrifying scourge on the world, Acnologia annihilates innocents for fun, stopped only from conquering the world by his own boredom. Upon his second appearance in the story, Acnologia brutally kills his old enemy, the Fire Dragon King Igneel, in front of the latter's adopted son. When he decides to take center stage in Alvarez's invasion of Fiore, Acnologia targets the other Dragon Slayers to wipe them out and reveals his intention to simply [[OmnicidalManiac annihilate everything that lives]], while keeping the only immortal wizards as playthings to torture forever.

** [[Recap/FairyTailEdolasArc "Edolas" arc]]: [[ArcVillain Faust]], the [[TheCaligula King of Edolas]], supposedly desires eternal magic for his kingdom, but in the end [[NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist only wants it for himself]]. He conducted a plan called "Anima" to absorb all of Earth Land into Edolas as Lacrima for fuel, but his son Mystogan eliminated most of the portals save for one in Magnolia City. Consumed by greed, he eventually orders the genocide of all Exceeds and uses his army's desperation for Magic to rile them. During "Code ETD", he siphons the Dragon Slayers of their magic to create a chain to throw the giant Lacrima containing Magnolia City residents and facilitate in Extalia's destruction. When Mystogan thwarts it, Faust personally leads a final assault in the Dorm Anima, callously shooting down his son and promising to turn Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel into [[HumanResources living batteries]] to fund future Anima plan attempts. His burning of Coco's legs and disregard for Pantherlily's life in a crossfire ultimately out Faust as a power-hungry and [[{{Greed}} avaricious]] king.

** ''[[Manga/FairyTail100YearsQuest 100 Years Quest]]'': [[OurDragonsAreDifferent Aldoron]] is one of the Five Dragon Gods, and initially comes off as a sleeping protector of the people living on him. However, immediately upon waking up from his 400-year coma, Aldoron absorbs and kills all of the 300,000 people on him, before sending his five "God Seeds" after Fairy Tail. After [[Characters/FairyTailNatsuDragneel Natsu]] outsmarts and defeats one of the God Seeds, Aldoron takes Natsu to his interior, where "God Seed Aldoron", the incarnation of Aldoron's mind, tortures him. During this torture, [[OmnicidalManiac Aldoron]] reveals how he plans to destroy the continent of Guiltina and then the rest of the world. When Natsu asks him how many humans he killed when he awoke, Aldoron says that the number was around 300,000 people, taking clear joy in recalling how the humans mistakenly viewed him as a protector. A power-hungry {{narcissist}}, Aldoron would stop at nothing to become stronger and rule the world, with even the other Dragon Gods just being future targets for him to devour.

** Rades Spirito is a vicious, vengeful EvilSorcerer who decides to attack the Kingdom of Clover. Using his curse which enslaves the dead to him, Rades bombards the city with magic blasts, and unleashes his zombies to devour everything and everyone they find. Rades then takes time to mock and terrorize a little girl before [[WouldHurtAChild trying to kill her]] as well, only being stopped by [[TheHero Asta's]] intervention. When Rades reveals his [[FreudianExcuse unbelievably petty motivation]] (he was kicked out of the Magic Knights for using dangerous magic) for wanting Clover destroyed, he proceeds to sneer that "reasons are best when they're simple" and declares his belief that as one with powerful Mana, [[SocialDarwinist he is free to do whatever he wants to those weaker than him]], even if he is destroying a country and killing everyone inside.

** [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast Vicious]] is an [[AmbitionIsEvil ambitious]] assassin-turned-underboss for the Red Dragon Syndicate who exacts vengeance upon his former girlfriend Julia for cheating on him with his best friend Spike Spiegel by trying to force her to kill Spike lest he murder them both. Going on to frame a young soldier for his own treason during a war, Vicious carves a bloody path within the Red Dragon, slaughtering all involved in a peace summit, including his old mentor, to [[AxCrazy take the Red Dragon back to their old ways of bloodshed]]. Eventually taking over via coup, Vicious has [[ArchEnemy Spike]] and Julia hunted down, gunning down an innocent woman in the process before Julia is killed as well, and fighting the broken Spike [[MutualKill to the death]].
