* TooDumbToLive: Zhang severely overestimates his influence, and even when it's clear Siyun won't show him any mercy if he keeps talking bullshit about his girls. He keeps pushing until Siyun is about to rip his entrails out in front of his father and by this point is too late to back down.

* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: Ditu's Emperor leaves Pleiades Dowager Empress to die at Beiyang's hands since she clearly has no idea how to lead the Dragon Slayer Alliance, is utterly defeated and completely refuses to accept defeat.

* TheAlliance: An evil version. Several fleets, warlords and dynasties join the Dragon Slayer Alliance against Siyun. [[TheChessmaster Which is most likely what he wanted to draw them into the open]]. The forces and resources they possess indicate that they had been planning to betray Daxia for decades. Siyun antagonizing them was just an excuse to do what they had wanted to do all that time.

* LostTechnology: While human technology in general has far surpassed what it was during the god slaying era, so many weapon engineers were killed during the war that military technology had to be redeveloped pretty much from scratch, with much remaining lost.

* AlwaysChaoticEvil: It becomes clear that most of Ditu's soldiers are traitors who defected from Daxia so they wouldn't be bound by things like law, morals or basic human decency.

* SlipknotPonytail: Ding Yuan's ponytail occasionally comes undone, letting her RapunzelHair cascade down her back.

** After assimilating Dragon Empress's HiveMind, Siyun gains access to her collection of bodies, the majority of them being female angels from nearly extinct races. Siyun can change their shape to some degree and often makes them look like his original body, but after a difficult fight with Rain Master, one of them reverts to it's original shape.

* HiveMind: This is essentially what a Soul-Tier angel is. If an angel reaches a high enough power level, they become able to control multiple bodies. When Dragon Empress, the only living Soul-Tier, attempts to add Siyun to her collection of bodies, he manages to [[AssimilationBackfire turn it on her]], claiming her power and HiveMind for himself. He has been shown operating ''three'' bodies at once: one acts as him for public appearances, another is the "Dragon Empress" who is officially Beiyang's Soul-Tier Angel, and the third is his real body.

* GullibleLemmings: Even the most ObviouslyEvil Dragonslayer Alliance officials that openly brag about how much they enjoy KillThePoor get a decent amount of public support from Daxia citizens.

** Galaxy News may be a heavily biased news source that champions the Dragon Slayer Alliance as if they weren't completely evil, but when one of their reporters hears an average citizen boast about how they don't go to war for silly things like defense, but to enjoy massacring people, he is taken aback.

* GenderBender: Xiao Pao, being a battle puppet, eventually changes from a young-looking Siyun, to a teenage girl version of Siyun.
** Siyun himself creates a female body after his fight against Rain Master.

* HiveMind: What Siyun essentially becomes after becoming a Soul-Tier Angel. He has been shown operating ''three'' bodies at once: one acts as him for public appearances, another is the "Dragon Empress" who is officially Beiyang's Soul-Tier Angel, and the third is his real body.

* GullibleLemmings: Even the most ObviouslyEvil Dragonslayer Alliance officials that openly brag about how much they enjoy KillThePoor get a decent amount of public support from Ditu citizens.

* GenderRestrictedAbility: The substance used to create angels normally destroys anything that isn't female. Male angels are technically possible, but it's extremely rare for a man to survive the process. Humans didn't even know that male angels were possible in the first place, with Siyun being the first human man to succeed during a failed attempt to kill him with it.

* ObligatoryWarCrimeScene: Upon learning the prince of Merak was pushing for the abolishing of slavery, Yihou planet lord orders the mass-murder of the entire slave population of Shura in the slave concentration camp, on live stream, with "Galaxy News" Specialist Bao openly cheering that they should all be burned alive, rather than granted freedom. This is after his fellow commentator openly declared that Shura are over 99% human!

* SkunkStripe: Qian Zhen, the Thousand-White Needles, has a strand of white hair.

* DidNotThinkThisThrough: When Ditu's prince starts attacking communication satellites, both to engage in (mis)information warfare and to boost his own ego, Siyun takes the logical step of getting replacement satellites '''armed'''. The moment Ditu's fleet is destroyed in a retaliatory strike, Ditu runs to the blatantly biased press and whines about Siyun's "war crime." The internet swallows this ridiculous narrative hook, line, and sinker and starts lambasting Daxia about his "evil ways" until Dragon Empress comments that she'd happily destroy the sattelites herself if they want, after all, those bored rich kids are spending way, way too much time on the internet and should have it shut down on them by the destruction of said satellites. At that point, the internet goes strangely silent...
