* ToastOfTardiness: Non-romantic version. Stella, one of the younger Shadows, is running with a piece of bread in her mouth because she's late for her debut... and crashes into Edward, her examiner. Her Living Doll Candy is running so close behind she crashes into Stella, and the two of them end up falling over backwards on the floor. The bread flies out of Stella's mouth and lands in Candy's.

* CorporalPunishment: Mia is on the receiving end of this from Sara, who is nowhere near as kind a master as Kate. Even worse, she's [[StockholmSyndrome internalized the belief]] that it's a way for Sara to 'better' her when she makes mistakes, so at one point she brings the cane to Sara and ''requests it''.

I think I misremebered some things. He targeted both - he was confident that Shirley/Rum would fail, but felt like he needed to cheat to fail Kate/Emilico.

* DubInducedPlotHole: Prior to the beginning of the Garden Labyrinth leg of the Debut, Edward ruminates on how Emilico's actions have made it harder for him to deliberately fail the targeted pair. [[spoiler:Readers of the manga and viewers of the Japanese dub of the anime are meant to assume that he has targeted Kate and Emilico, due to his mentioning of Emilico and because they are our protagonists, but he never specifically named who he was after, only that they were female. Later, it's revealed that he was actually talking about Shirley and Rum. Presumably, the writers of the English dub didn't realize that Edward's inner monologue was vague on purpose and fell for the misdirection themselves, having him incorrectly state that he's after Kate and Emilico (as well as his complaint that the problem stemmed from Emilico getting fired up - he was actually upset that Emilico got someone ''else'' more motivated).]]

* MirrorRoutine: Living Dolls are expected to do a version of this after their shadow debuts, mimicking the shadow's movements exactly and showing an expression befitting their emotions when they speak. It's more than a little unsettling in action given that the first example we see is Mia, a doll who Emilico had started to befriend, playing "face" for her AlphaBitch shadow, Sara.
