After hearing it again she immediately goes to get Hayate. Luckily it's just Father Lynn messing around, and luckily for ''him'' he's able to convince Hayate not to let Hina try "exorcising" him via sword.

Incorrect use of The Red Sonja. It refers to a Relationship Upgrade or something similar after a man defeats a woman.

* TheRedSonja - Somewhat for Hinagiku. Hayate has 'conquered' her, in that he's taught her how to defeat her fears (or at least the knowledge how to), but when admitting it to Ayumu, she still wants Hayate to be the one to start the romance.

* FridgeBrilliance - Have you ever wondered why Chiharu is the only Hakuo Academy student to speak with an English accent in the Animax English dub? You figure it out in two ways:
** 1. You then remembered that both [[spoiler: the maids, Maria & Saki, speak with an English accent in the dub too. You mix the two & two together and realize that Chiharu must be a maid too! Your suspicions are later confirmed once you read the later manga chapters or watch the 2nd season of the anime and discover that she's none other than Sakuya's maid!]]
** 2. Having no idea, you decided to [[spoiler: watch the 2nd anime season and/or read the later manga chapters and suddenly find out that Chiharu is "Haruko", Sakuya's maid. It is then you realize that the dub was giving the viewers a hint what Chiharu's secret job was all along and that clue was none other than the maids Maria & Saki who speak with English accents. Brilliant!]]
*** Red Angel Media, the studio that dubbed the anime on Animax were genius. They musta [[spoiler: read the manga that she was a maid long before the Viz manga English release so they decided to do the English accent thing to give the first time viewers the hint long before they read the manga or watch the 2nd season. You gotta hand it to the studio, they knew what they were doing.]]
** There's also a bit later on in the manga, where it is revealed that Hinagiku was very close friends with [[spoiler: Athena, the board chairman of Hakuo Academy]] which might seem a bit odd given the latter's mostly loner nature, and was even noted by the Baka Trio. However, it actually makes a lot of sense that Hinagiku would get so close where others couldn't as [[spoiler: she likely reminded Athena of Hayate, at least sub-consciously, since the two are so similar]].
** On a separate note of Fridge Brilliance, remember when Hayate's brother heard Athena calling for help, and he thought it might be a ghost or something? Well remember he only heard her calling for help the moment when the stone of bonds landed in his hand, the only reason he heard her was because the stone opened a path way to the garden, thus letting him hear her mental cries for help. Though this doesn't really explain his ability to hear subconscious desires from a person at all.

* HoYay - Kotetsu Segawa is canonically gay for Hayate, and Azumamiya is almost undoubtedly attracted to him after the Mt. Takao trip (when Nishizawa met him she could literally sense it and moved to grab Hayate right after he introduced himself).
** The weird part is how Hayate acts around Kotetsu. No other character can get Hayate to show his dark side...which pretty much consists of being a {{Tsundere}}. Seriously, whenever they're together Hayate basically acts like a stereotypical tsundere love interest, albeit a particularly violent one with [[RanmaOneHalf Ranma-esque]] strength and skill, and has twice managed not to kill him to have a dere moment...which Kotetsu inevitably ruins instantly and gets beaten down HARD.
** On that note, Father Radiostar has had a few moments as well and did canonically write Hayate a love letter. That creepy, stalker-ish love letter. Tama sort of has his moments but depending on his mood it may be more like FoeYay.

* LesYay - Ayumu and Hinagiku. Superintendent Kirika and Sion
---> '''Hinagiku''': Now I'll never be a bride...
---> '''Ayumu''': [[EngagingConversation I'll take you]].
---> '''Hinagiku''': What about Hayate?
---> '''Ayumu''': That's right... Then how about [[TenchiSolution Polygamy]]?
** We also can't forget the yuri-tastic friendship between [[spoiler: Hinagiku and Athena, where Hina pretty much admired Athena on sight and blushed nervously as she tried to ask for her email address]]. It was explicitly stated that [[spoiler: Athena]] didn't interact with anyone else like that and that the two were an unstoppable duo that basically ruled the school together.
*** From way back when Hayate went to the Kendo Club to get Nagi interested in sports (because Hinagiku mentioned Nagi tried to join before), we see that Nagi and Hinagiku had an almost identical start with Nagi admiring how cool Hinagiku was and playing out much the same as the above relationship - at least until Nagi realized she would never be like Hina
** And with the Greece Arc we also have much more Nagi/Ayumu moments with the two being seemingly inseparable friends at times, it even extends after and the two seem quite friendly even after returning to Japan. Also Ayumu told Nagi she loved her during her birthday story. It was very heartfelt.
** Does [[spoiler: Luca and Hayate]] fit here? I mean [[spoiler: she thinks that Hayate or "Maid Star" is a girl, and she did kiss "her" on the cheek thinking that and seemed to be generally enamored of "her"]]. Seems like it's going to fit here until she figures it out.

* SickEpisode - Chapter 352 has everyone [[spoiler: in the Violet Mansion]] except Hayate getting colds. Hayate tends to them and decides to go out to get medicine for them, given his luck [[spoiler: he is sent flying by Kayura and hit by a speeding truck]]. Despite this he seems okay and returns with the medicine.
** Chapter 353 then has Hayate catching the cold as well, as Alice warned him about, and unfortunately for him it's also the day of the Hakuou final exams (that being the "punchline" to the previous chapter. He was just going to take soem medicine but couldn't as he didn't want Nagi to think that she gave him her cold and feel bad. Then he thought he could just focus on merely passing but couldn't as Hinagiku was expecting great scores from him due to all the studying they had done together. After that it was just a set of disasters that made Hayate's cold worse and killed any time he had to prepare. Fortunately Maria figured out he was sick and let him rest when he finally got back.

** Played up a bit more in the anime, but in the manga it has only really been seen twice. The first time was when Kaede Nonohara was fighting Hayate in the Kendo Club and used his rather insane "Safety Shot: Grand Explosion, Immolating Dark Murder" which a huge dragon-shaped burst of fire. Hayate uses one once as well called [[TitleDrop Hayate no Gotoku]] which basically gives him a burst of SuperSpeed which let him basically jump ''through'' a giant robot as well as generate enough energy to completely blow up the church they were under (but it was incomplete so he wound up breaking every bone in his body). Himuro Seaki is implied to have one that he didn't get to use and Hayate and Nagi are certain that Maria has one too.
*** Notably, Hayate had a small recurring arc to develop his FinishingMove. Part of this included finding a book left by Himegami in the Sanzen'in library entirely about creating various ultimate attacks. Nagi took interest in a move designed to win the heart of the one you love, it turned out to be [[spoiler: basically stripping naked and using sex appeal]]. Sadly, Hayate never got to read it as [[spoiler: Nagi asked him why he wanted to learn one in the first place. He replied that it was for ''Hinagiku's sake''. Nagi burned the book immediately]].
* FiringOneHanded - Hayate pulls this off early in the series when he shows up to rescue Nagi from an enormous robot with a wrapped bundle on his back. He reveals this to be an HK-MG3, which is normally a ''turret-mounted machine gun'' and simply tears through the robot's armor. Hayate is also apparently strong enough to ''easily'' wield it with one hand. Mysteriously, he also claims to have already been very familiar with the weapon somehow and seemed to have access to it before/without Sanzen'in resources.

As soon as Nagi jumps in to help him he recalls there were ''two'' sharks. Equally strange is the fact in all of the discussions Nishizawa and Hina have had about Hayate she has never brought up the fact that Nagi is also their love rival and thus Hina remains as unaware as Hayate on the matter.
** While the option played straight is very unlikely to happen, there is an interesting variation that has a chance of happening, that being [[spoiler: Nagi's new apartment (maybe after a possibly foreshadowed expansion) eventually having all the Haremettes move in with Hayate continuing to act as the "butler included" and thus sharing him]].
