* TheirFirstTime: Since neither Makoto nor Yura know what they are doing, their first time together is extremely awkward. It starts with him not quite figuring out where to "put it", and things go [[ItGetsWorse downhill from there.]]

''Futari Ecchi'' is an [[{{seinen}} adult]] {{manga}} by author Katsu Aki (''Manga/LoveLucky''), serialized in Japan in the bi-monthly ''Young Animal'' magazine.

* PornWithPlot: The ever-developing relationship between Yura and Makoto makes for a cohesive and entertaining plotline.

* HollywoodSex: DeconstructedTrope. ''Futari Ecchi'' is about two people who only know HollywoodSex ([[VirginityMakesYouStupid if that]]), and shows, realistically, what happens when they try to apply it.

* InnocentInnuendo: Though being a sexualy explicit manga series, it has it's shares of this. Yura thinks Makoto is cheating on her with Rika when they were making noises. Turns out, they were both playing a fighting game.

* [[TruthInTelevision Truth in Manga]]: Some people question the advice given, but this is rather well-researched stuff. For example, many men and some more physically sensitive woman are confused how long it takes for Yura to finally have her "[[UnusualEuphemism Grand Finale]]". But it ''does'' happen in real life, and there's a great deal of variations in men and women. There are women who never ever reach the "Grand Finale".

* InnocentInnuendo: Though being a hentai series, it has it's shares of this. Yura thinks Makoto is cheating on her with Rika when they were making noises. Turns out, they were both playing a fighting game.

* FlatCharacter: Yura and Makoto are the only ones who have even vague pretensions at being {{Rounded Character}}s. Everyone else is a one-trick pony.

* ThoseTwoGuys: Makoto's coworkers are never seen apart. The buck-toothed one seems completely unable to avoid hitting on Yura either, regardless of whether her husband is present or not.

* UglyGuyHotWife: Makoto is portrayed as being no more than average-looking, while Yura is a hottie on every aspects. (Or, at least, [[InformedAttractiveness that's how other characters react to them]].) Though Makoto is also a bona-fide ChickMagnet, and it's mentioned in Futari Ecchi for Ladies that Makoto is an "elite" salaryman and Rika thinks that's why Yura married him.

* LikesOlderWomen: Matsuzaki.

* IdiotHero: Makoto

* ItsAllAboutMe: Makoto tends to focus on his own pleasure when in bed with Yura. This if anything justifies the existence of the work itself: Makoto ''wants'' to be a good lover to Yura but simply doesn't know how. Yamada, who refuses to use a condom regardless of any pregnancy potential, has no such excuse.
