However, she wasn't very good at it and still proved she needed to be saved....twice. This is not including all the other times throughout the animated series that she had needed to be saved.

Moriarty Effect was renamed Breakout Villain.

* While Irene Adler has [[MoriartyEffect gotten an expanded role]] in SherlockHolmes adaptations for a long while, in ''Film/SherlockHolmes'', she becomes a definite ActionGirl, which is showcased in a MuggingTheMonster scene. This probably has to do with the fact that the film also emphasizes Holmes and Watson's (canonical) fighting prowess.

** That's more TheyChangedItNowItSucks coupled with RealWomenNeverWearDresses (fans' main complaints about the fourth movie was that she wore a pink dress to the Yule Ball). Hermione in the first film is fairly the same as her book counterpart - her solving of the logic scene was removed but they kept her saving them from the Devil's Snare - in that part each of the trio contributes once (Ron winning the chess game, Harry catching the flying key). In keeping with the book she is removed from the second film halfway through when she is petrified. In the third film (where the main complaints come from) she has only two "action scenes" where she is riding on the Whomping Willow and throws Harry into the passageway, and throws a stone through Hagrid's window to warn her and Harry's past selves. Fans forget that in the book when Sirius and Harry were going at it, Hermione kicked Sirius in the head and got the wands off him. That wasn't in the movie however. She has no action scenes at all in the fourth or sixth movies and her ActionGirl status is fairly low in the fifth film much the same as her book counterpart (though she remains conscious in the big battle in the movie version). The seventh film keeps her the same as the book counterpart.

* Kairi in the first ''KingdomHearts'' game spent 80% of the story as a vegetable while Sora had to save her. In the second game she acquires a Keyblade and is able to kick plenty of ass to save Sora and the others.
** While Ariel in ''TheLittleMermaid'' franchise qualified as an ActionGirl, she was made into a guest party member in ''Kingdom Hearts'' and kicked more ass than she did in the movie or TV series (though neither of them had Heartless so who's to say she wasn't already like that?).

* Susan in the ChroniclesOfNarnia series of movies. In ''The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe'', she has a scene devoted to training, while she's never seen fighting in the book. In fact, when she is given her bow by Santa Clause in the book, she is expressly told not to use it, because "'' battles are ugly when women fight''". Also, in the scene when the wolf attacks, she gives herself and Lucy time to escape by throwing a blanket at it. In the book, she just climbed up a tree and nearly fainted.
