** Likewise, the Igors specialize in appearing behind their masters' backs, regardless of how vigilant the master or how coverless the room is. Like most Igor traits, it's hard to be certain whether it is a natural talent, or the result of rigorous training. In ''Going Postal'', Reacher Gilt tests this skill by setting a bear trap down, turning his back to it, and calling for his Igor; the Igor arrives and hands him the now-closed bear trap.

* In the works of Creator/AAPessimal, Witches are good at this: Granny Weatherwax (''mayhersoulhavemercyontheGods'') used the skill of "fading into the foreground" to make herself invisible, or at least un-noticed, by others, until such a time as she chose to make her presence felt. Tiffany Aching was the first witch to work out how his was done and to apply it to her work, and it is inferred that other Witches also learnt the skill. Creator/AAPessimal visualised a young witch who applied this to her Steading work in [[UsefulNotes/SouthAfrica Rimwards Howondaland]] and felt smugly pleased that she could do this so as to be able to observe unseen. But she is trumped by her Assassin aunt, who spent seven years of ''her'' life also learning to move and observe unseen, who routinely comes up behind her and surprises Bekki that a non-Witch can also do this.

Joe doesn't realize the switch until he turns back and discovers he's two feet away from the Punisher. He gets a whole panel of wordless dismay before Frank [[PayEvilUntoEvil does his thing]].
