* In ''TheLizzieBennetDiaries'', several main characters have been racelifted. Considering [[PrideAndPrejudice the original]] took place in 18th century England, and the adaptation in the modern-day United States, this makes sense.

** Colonel Fitzwilliam becomes Fitz Williams, who is ''[[BlackBestFriend African American]]'' (and gay.)

** At least where Egyptian royalty was concerned, it would very much depend on which dynasty you're talking about.

* The animated film ''PrinceOfEgypt'' depicted the Israelites of the Exodus as being [[AmbiguouslyBrown much darker-skinned]] than typical RealLife Jews. Here, for example, is [[http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mblts0jAXi1rxpoxko1_400.jpg Yocheved as depicted in the film]], and [[http://www.haza.co.il/eng/gallery_picture.asp?group=general&id=6 here is Ofra Haza, the Yemenite-Israeli Jewish actress]] who did her voice. Granted, there are Jews of just about every race, including plenty who are darker-skinned than the Israelites in ''PrinceOfEgypt'', but the average Jew is not anywhere near as dark-skinned as depicted in the film.

* [[spoiler:Khan Noonien Singh]] in [[spoiler:''StarTrekIntoDarkness'']].

* Master Miller, FOX HOUND's drill instructor in the Franchise/MetalGear, had a distinctively Asian appearance in the [=MSX2=] version. When he "returned" in ''MetalGearSolid'', he was turned into a blond haired Caucasoid with a Japanese heritage [[spoiler:making it easier for Liquid Snake to impersonate Miller by simply giving himself a ponytail and sunglasses.]]

* General Vega (or M. Bison, depending on which version you prefer) made his first appearance in ''StreetFighterII'' as a dictator from Thailand who looked very appropriately Asian in his character portrait. In every subsequent appearance, including [[CapcomSequelStagnation the game's numerous prequels]], he instead looks ambiguously European. Given his in-story desire to transfer his conciousness into different bodies, this at least has a built-in HandWave.

* Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has been cast as Blink in ''Film/XMenDaysOfFuturePast''.

* In ''SonicAdventure2'' and ''ShadowTheHedgehog'', the President's secretary was a white woman with blonde hair. When she appeared in the ''{{Sonic X}}'' anime, she was changed to an African-American woman.

* The second season of ''MortalKombatLegacy'' has the half-white, half-Asian David Lee McInnis as Raiden. In the last season and the feature films, Raiden was played by white actors.

* In ''Literature/TheHost'' Melanie Stryder is described as having tanned skin and is part latina on her mother's side; in ''TheFilmOfTheBook the Movie'' she is played by {{Creator/Saoirse Ronan}}.

* In the Creator/StephenKing short novel ''FourteenOhEight'', Gerald Olin is a white middle aged British man. In the [[TheFilmOfTheBook film adaptation]], he is played by SamuelLJackson, [[CaptainObvious who is not]].

* In ''Film/{{Iron Man 3}}'', the Mandarin, who is half-white and half-Chinese in the comics, is played by BenKingsley. [[spoiler: It's revealed that the Mandarin is really a British actor playing a decoy]]. Firepower ([[ComicBookMoviesDontUseCodenames Jack Taggert]]) also went from being African-American to Caucasian.
