* "Mexicali Blues", which appears on the Music/TheGratefulDead's highly popular greatest hits album ''Skeletons from the Closet'' is actually a song from guitarist Bob Weir's solo album, ''Ace''. That makes the previously obscure song's appearance on the compilation strange, right? Well, in actuality, almost every member of the Grateful Dead c. 1972 perform backup duties on every song on ''Ace'', thereby making the song and album basically by the Grateful Dead!

* There's a long history of [[https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles_bootleg_recordings#Fake_or_disputed_bootleg_songs songs with no direct connection to The Beatles appearing on bootleg albums]], often other artists imitating or parodying their style, or sometimes even just ones that coincidentally had similar names (a duo called John & Paul for instance). The track [[https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace_of_Mind/The_Candle_Burns "Piece of Mind"]], appearing on various Beatles bootlegs since 1973, was something of a mystery at first, as it was generally accepted that it wasn't a genuine Beatles recording, but no one could track down the actual source: In 2021, the song was revealed to be a prank put together by radio DJ David Hunter and musician Walton Jones - Walton wrote, performed and self produced the song, which David played on air as part of an all-Beatles program as a supposed unreleased "basement tape".

Yacht rock is a specific genre with electric pianos and soul/jazz/R&B and sometimes disco influences. That label includes musicians like the Michael Mc Donald era Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Toto, and Hall and Oates. The bands listed HERE are not that.
