* The Willys MB/Ford GPW truck, or far more commonly, the "Jeep" that was built in large numbers during World War II became ubiquitous and notorious for the sheer amount of ways it could be used, greatly helped by its ability to drive through terrain most land vehicles would stand no chance getting through (and if it got stuck, it could just be pulled out by hand). Out of the factory, it was already a useful transport for troops and supplies in addition to scouting, but a few field modifications would facilitate it being handy for towing, an ambulance, and powering searchlights or radar. Even its hood was very helpful by being wide and flat enough to be used in lieu of a table - some people even had surgery performed on them while atop of a jeep's hood. Some of the only things it couldn't do was replacing tanks or aircraft, and it still saw use as a weapons platform, with the [[UsefulNotes/BritsWithBattleships Special Air Service]] performing night raids with them after mounting four Vickers K machine guns onto them soon after the unit's formation.

Babe Zaharias, Heather Moyse

Added DiffLines:

* Another famous example of this was Babe Didrikson Zaharias. The Texas native, after dropping out of high school, moved to Dallas and was employed as a secretary by a locally based insurance company to get around amateurism rules. Her ''real'' job was to compete on the company-sponsored sports teams.
** For starters, she led her company basketball team to the AAU[[note]]the Amateur Athletic Union, then the country's main governing body for post-college sports, now mostly a youth sports organizer[[/note]] national title in 1931.
** The following year, she led her company's women's track team to the AAU national title. Scratch that... she ''was'' the national championship team. By herself. She competed in eight of the 10 individual events, winning five and finishing second in another.
** The AAU championships served as the US trials for that year's Olympics in Los Angeles. Didrikson (as she was then known) won gold medals in the 80-meter hurdles and javelin, and a silver in the high jump. To this day, she's the only individual of either sex to have won individual Olympic medals in separate running, throwing, and jumping events.
** She also played competitive baseball and softball, and was an expert diver, roller skater, and bowler. She even played competitive pool, though wasn't a champion in that sport.
** She then began playing golf, which she quickly mastered. She became the first, and to this day only, woman to make the cut at a regular PGA Tour (men's) event. Zaharias went on to become America's first female golf celebrity, and the leading women's golfer of the 40s and early 50s. Not to mention becoming one of the founding members of the LPGA, the current operator of the top U.S. women's tour. And she won her last major, as well as her last two competitive tournaments, while battling the colon cancer that would prematurely end her life in 1956.
* Canada's answer to Zaharias is Heather Moyse. After starring in university track and basketball, she switched her focus to rugby union, becoming so successful in both 15s and sevens that she eventually entered that sport's Hall of Fame. And represented Canada internationally as a track cyclist. ''And'' won two Olympic golds as a bobsledder.

They can do a little of everything - healing, support, fighting - but aren't quite as good at any one thing as the more specialized characters. They get powerful equipment, though, and a couple of awesome exclusive spells (Thordain and Healusall), though the latter's usefulness tends to get offset by costing a lot of MP. Especially as the heroes tend to have mediocre MP growth.

* Usopp from ''Manga/OnePiece'' (before the time skip) seems to be this. He's not an especially good fighter, though he gets in on the action here and there and uses his cleverness when he can. He was doing his best to fix the ship, as the only one who had any skills in that area before they got a genuine shipwright. He mostly did odd jobs on the ship for the crew, not having a specialization like all the others. Whilst his pure combat skills where sub-par compared to the other (admittedly super-human) characters, his aim was always extremely good (which did in at least one occasion come to great help). Since the time-skip it simply seems he has gotten the combat power to use it effectively against more powerful enemies, along with a wide variety of bizarre plants to use as AbnormalAmmo.

There's a ton of technology packed into those little things, like a gyroscope, motion controls, an NFC reader, an infrared sensor, HD Rumble, and the ability to be detached for multiple modes of play. A Pro Controller is better for general home gameplay as it features a more ergonomic grip and larger buttons and sticks, though it's fairly bulky for travel and can't be separated into two controllers for multiplayer or two-piece motion controls. A lot of third-party offerings have an advantage in price, but they often lack many of the special Switch features mentioned above. While the Joy-Cons can't be the best at everything, they certainly are ''capable'' of doing everything, and that flexibility is one of the primary selling points of the system as a whole.
