The Eighth Doctor appears to be around forty and is such EstrogenBrigadeBait that the actor who played him actually has his own Estrogen Brigade. Miranda, his [[ChildrenRaiseYou adopted daughter]], has a best friend and classmate who, at only fifteen, {{squick}}s said daughter by saying he's "gorgeous" and "hunky" and inquiring as to whether he "go[es] in for the schoolgirl type," and generally displays an excessive interest in his ([[ChasteHero apparently nonexistent]]) love life.

* The few times we see him, ''GoldenSun'''s Kyle looks like he could be Isaac's scruffy older brother. Then we have Sheba's adoptive father Faran, who would be a classic {{Bishounen}} if not for the moustache.

The HotDad possesses the appearance more fitting of half his age, and is more often than not a widower. Wife deceased or otherwise, he is as beautiful as his spouse, and dotes on [[DaddysGirl his daughter]] with a [[OverprotectiveDad borderline-homicidal protectiveness]] should any male her age even glance at her. If his wife is still alive she is almost always a HotMom, and to the utter embarrassment of their child they act like high-schoolers in love in front of his/her friends.

More so than the HotMom, the HotDad is a figure of [[PuritySue impossible perfection]], almost always painfully polite, considerate, sweet and yet will '''also''' be an [[PapaWolf invincible warrior for his children]].

Rarely outside the realms of {{anime}} and {{manga}} will you find ''teenagers'' with mothers so young in appearance and so sweet-and-cute in disposition that they will more often than not be mistaken for the ''big-sister'' of the hapless youth than their mother-proper. The subject of this phenomenon is known as the HotMom, a character whom older fans of an anime can identify with, or on a darker note, have "fantasies" about without guilt of having possible {{Lolicon}} tendencies.

This trope, however, is about the variation known as the HotDad, a '''male''' parental figure that caters to the ''female'' anime fan demographic's wants and desires - or that of their mothers or older sisters.

The HotDad possesses the appearance more fitting of a {{Bishounen}} half his age, and is more often than not a widower. Wife deceased or otherwise, he is usually as beautiful as his spouse, and ''invariably'' dotes on [[DaddysGirl his daughter]] with a [[OverprotectiveDad borderline-homicidal protectiveness]] should any male her age even ''glance'' at her.
