[[quoteright:288:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/HotDadDave1_2998.jpg]]

The Hot Dad, a male parental figure that caters to the ''female'' (or [[LGBTFanbase male]]) demographic's wants and desires.

The Hot Dad possesses an appearance more fitting for half his age, and is often a widower. He dotes on [[DaddysGirl his daughter]] with a [[OverprotectiveDad borderline-homicidal protectiveness]] should any male her age even glance at her. To the utter embarrassment of their child, they act like high-schoolers in love in front of his/her friends.

In the case where the Hot Dad is actively pursued by women half his age in-universe, he can become the series ''StacysMom''. Contrast TheUglyGuysHotDaughter.

!Examples:

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:Anime and Manga]]
* ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'':
** Minato Namikaze, [[spoiler:the main character's father]]. Note that [[spoiler: Minato died only a few hours after Naruto's birth,]] so he may only have been in his early 20s.
** Shikaku (Shikamaru's dad) is kinda roughed up but still quite popular. And also his old friend/partner in the Ino-Shika-Cho trio, Ino's father Inoichi Yamanaka.
%% ** Hizashi Hyuuga, Neji's father. [[spoiler: Too bad he's been dead for years, but later BackFromTheDead. Damn you, [[FanNickname Kabutomaru]].]]
%% ** There's also Fugaku Uchiha, Itachi and Sasuke's dad, even though fanfic has the tendency to demonize him beyond recognition.
* ''Manga/CardcaptorSakura'':
** Kinomoto Sakura's father, Fujitaka, who is a widowed archaeology professor who also finds time to do housework for his kids. The mother of Tomoyo, Sakura's best friend, says she hates him because he is too perfect. The fact that, parallel to her daughter, she was in love with Sakura's mother, might also have something to do with it.
** It runs in the family. [[spoiler: Sakura's [alternate universe counterpart's from "Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle"] own husband later becomes this after they married, and their son still couldn't match Syaoran Sr's mature look after all his time in the story. Until Syaoran Sr. was aged down, of course. Then they're identical. But still attractive by most standards.]]
%% * Forbessi, the Kind and Handsome ''Demon Lord'' father of Nerine in the harem anime ''{{Shuffle}}''.
* Furukawa Akio, the father of Nagisa in ''VisualNovel/{{Clannad}}'' is an exception to the model: Handsome though he may be, he is a coarse, loud, brash and hyperactive oaf of a child-trapped-in-a-man's-body, and a baker to boot. He is still very much ''openly (and publicly)'' in love with his wife, much to their daughter's embarrassment.[[spoiler: After Ushio's birth, he became a Hot GRANDPA!]]
%% ** [[spoiler: Tomoya becomes a Hot Dad. And fits more in the model, at least after episode 18 of ''After Story'']]
* Deathscythe aka Spirit Albarn, Maka Albarn's father in ''Manga/SoulEater'' is the greatest Weapon/Warrior of Death City on top of being a handsome, kind-hearted and devoted father. His '''only''' flaw is, unfortunately, that he is [[LovableSexManiac a cheating loser whose unfaithful behavior cost him his marriage and his daughter's respect]].
%% * ''JungleWaItsumoHaleNochiGuu'': Hare's dad is one of these (goes with his mom). He's [[JerkAss kind of]] [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold a jerk though]].
* ''KareKano'':
** Tsubasa Shibahime's father; he's so handsome that Yukino lampshades the trope by going googly-eyed when she meets him.
%% ** The Miyazawa family's father, Takashi.
%% ** [[spoiler:Souichiro Arima himself at the end of the series.]]
%% ** DeadpanSnarker Reiji, Soichiro's biological father.
%% * ''DragonballZ'': Son Goku, Krillin and especially Vegeta have been worshiped as such amongst certain fangirl communities. Heck, even ''Piccolo'' is subject to this worship, with his fatherly relationship to Son Gohan as justification. In Goku's case, this is also in-universe. The women who actually found him rather attractive (other than of course his wife Chi-Chi) are Bulma, Bulma's mother (both of whom are married hot moms, although the former was still dating Yamcha when she realized this), and Princess Snake and her servants in the anime (although she may simply want to eat Goku).
* And there is Ryouji "Ranka" Fujioka, Haruhi's dad in ''OuranHighSchoolHostClub''. Sure, he is a very convincing {{crossdresser}}, but he is also fairly attractive when in male garb (and his dead wife Kotoko was much the same)...
** Tamaki's father, Yuzuru, is pretty good looking for being 48 (and his mistress/Tamaki's mother Anne is DEFINITELY the same). Hikaru's and Kaoru's father is quite attractive, too (and married to someone who was much the same... go figure).
* Sarah Macdougal's father Noriyasu Seta (of LoveHina) is lusted after by most of the female cast, not to mention being a gullible-kind hearted-handsome-genius-archeology professor-who is also a master of Jeet Kun Do Kung Fu definitely qualifies him for this trope.
** He is also a menace to society [[DrivesLikeCrazy when he is driving]].
* In ''Manga/DragonBall'', we have Bardock, Son Goku, Son Gohan (minus NerdGlasses), and Vegeta. If you're attracted by beards, King Vegeta as well.
* Konoka's father Eishun (a Japanese pronunciation of the Chinese Kung Fu style "Wing Chun") in ''MahouSenseiNegima'', who is a wise Martial-Arts Master AND Grand Sorcerer, is a slightly older example.
** Eishun is a subversion, actually. It's mentioned that, while not ugly, he was rather plain when compared to {{Bishonen}} like Nagi and Alberio, an on top of it [[IWasQuiteALooker he didn't age super well]]. In fact, when Eishun's old friend Jack Rakan met Konoka, he was all "[[UglyGuysHotDaughter what, that ugly swordsman REALLY fathered such a cute little girl?!]]"
** And for that matter, Nagi Springfield from the same franchise is one of the few examples of this trope who has no daughters (Nekane is genetically Negi's ''cousin'', not big sister proper). In-story, he even has legions of {{fangirl}}s, although most of them are unaware that he's a dad.
** Negima seems to be in love with this trope lately, as GenkiGirl Yuuna Akashi's father was revealed to be a Hot Dad during her DayInTheLimelight chapter. Apparently, he's so hot his ''own daughter'' seems just a little too... [[ParentalIncest attached]] to him.
* Though he's technically Kyo's foster father, Kazuma Sohma from ''FruitsBasket'' has practically raised Kyo after his mother's suicide, and also took Rin in after she was released from the hospital. He's handsome, gentle, wise, knows his martial arts (he has a dojo, after all)... and is one really LethalChef. He's so hot, even [[spoiler:[[TheStoic Saki Hanajima]]]] has immediately a crush for him, and she's a highschool student.
** Shigure arguably sort-of filled this role (at least in the early part of the manga).
** Katsuya Honda, Tohru's dad, fulfills this trope, too, and Akito's dad Akira was so hot that he was described as having an "unearthly beauty". And of course, [[spoiler: Kyou]] becomes probably the hottest dad in the series.
* There's also Daisuke's father Kosuke in ''DNAngel''. Not a widower, but the rest of the description more or less fits.
* Ginji Kawai, Sasami's dad in the ''PrettySammy'' series, who apparently can do ''anything'', including going out in space as an astronaut.
* Not shoujo, but close enough, Shiro Takamachi of ''MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha'' is an ex-assassin/bodyguard now bakery owner.
** And he was [[SchrodingersCat dead]] in [[TriangleHeart3SweetSongsForever the series]] that he and his family were originally from.
* ''AkkanBaby'' had the seafaring, long-haired, nice and roguishly handsome dad of the male lead. The "hot" part of the trope was averted with the father of the female lead who was chubby and somewhat cowardly, though also very nice and he, at least, didn't tend to ParentalAbandonment.
* While he's not actually Rosette's father (merely her legal guardian), Father Remington of ''ChronoCrusade'' could quite possibly fit this trope. ''Rosette herself'' even has a crush on him! ([[SexyPriest Can you blame her, tho?]])
* Yucie's father in ''PetitePrincessYucie'' isn't particularly "hot" (maybe if he ditched the facial hair...), but his nurturing personality fits the trope.
* He's a father figure rather than an actual father, but Dr. Wakaouji in ''Manga/FullMoonOSagashite'' seems to fit this trope regardless. He's attractive, kind, loving, and amazingly understanding; has a lucrative job as a doctor; ''and'', as an added bonus, is a retired rock star. He's single for most of the series, too (although he eventually gets together with resident ChristmasCake Ooshige).
* Newest Noah, Sheryl Kamelot of ''[[DGrayMan D.Gray-Man]]'', who might be a bit ''too'' [[http://www.onemanga.com/D.Gray-Man/158/03/ affectionate]] towards his "daughter" Road Kamelot and "younger brother" Tyki Mikk.
** General Cross could fit here too, seeing how he "raised" Allen for five years.
* Although the show is definitely shounen, Max Jenius in ''{{Macross 7}}'' is just as hot in his fifties as he was in teens -- except that he's got even [[CoolShades cooler shades]] and Hajime Saito-style {{ahoge}}. Let's just forget that he's also CoolOldGuy, TheAce and, quite obviously, the CanonSue.
** [[WordOfGod The creator once explicitly said]] that Max simply stopped aging due to his [[TheAce sheer awesomeness]].
* Nanjiroh Echizen in ''Manga/ThePrinceOfTennis'' would qualify as Hot Dad if he shaved his stubble and dressed more or less normally. He ''was'' very attractive and a ladies man in his younger years ([[LoveAtFirstPunch and married the Tsundere who didn't take his crap]]).
* He probably avoided this list for so long because people often remember him for his shadowy, smiley-faced form, but Hotaru's father Doctor Shuichi Tomoe from ''Manga/SailorMoon'' was actually something of a {{Bishonen}} when all of the shadows were removed. [[spoiler: More exactly, once he was debrainwashed and the true BigBad was revealed.]]
** Usagi's dad Kenji qualifies too; he's very tall and well-built.
** Considering [[KidFromTheFuture Chibi-Usa]], it's ''very'' safe to say that Mamoru himself will become a Hot Dad once she's properly born in the future. Hell, one of the reason's Usagi likes Mamoru is because he reminds her of her father.
** [[{{Bifauxnen}} Haruka]] qualifies as a rare female example, once she, Michiru and Setsuna adopt [[HasTwoMommies Hotaru.]] Except when she's mindcontrolled.
* Kim Kaphwan from ''FatalFury'' and ''TheKingOfFighters''. ''Specially'' in the ''Special'' games (where his two kids show up in his intros and win poses) and the Motion Picture (where his also gorgeous wife appears too).
* ''Kirepapa'' provides a yaoi example -- Chisato is old enough to be the father of teenaged Riju, but has a very cute and youthful appearance. Riju's upperclassman chum Shunsuke sees him as definite DILF material.
** Hell, Shunsuke's dad (and Chisato's former upperclassman) should count too! Especially if you have a thing for the CEO type in suit and glasses. Also, they get a flashback to their teen years, wherein Chisato is... even more uke.
* For the female tropers who like their guys older and more rugged, ColonelBadass Sergei Smirnov from ''{{Gundam 00}}'' definitely qualifies. He ''was'' shown in his younger years in the second season's flashbacks, too.
** [[GundamWing Relena Darlian's]] (adoptive) father, Premier Darlian, was ''very'' TallDarkAndHandsome. Her biological father [[spoiler: King Peacecraft]] cut a very impressive figure, too, combining his BadassBeard with a nice military uniform and quite a long hair. [[spoiler: Too bad he's dead.]]
** Quatre's father Zayeed "Master" Winner also was pretty good-looking. Basically, age up Quatre's [[HoYay "best friend"]] Trowa by 25 years, add a BadassMoustache, and here you go.
** By the time ZetaGundam rolls in, Captain Bright Noah from the original Gundam series has become a Hot Dad. Some consider Hayato Kobayashi to be a cute dad, too, despite not being a bishonen by any league.
** Hangelb Evin, [[Anime/MobileSuitVictoryGundam Uso Evin's dad]] is also an example.
** [[Anime/MobileFighterGGundam Domon Kasshu's]] father, Dr. Raizou Kasshu, is an older example. And apparently, an evil one. [[spoiler: He was framed, by the way, so he wasn't a bad guy in the end.]]
** A ZigZaggedTrope in GundamAGE. [[spoiler: While second-season!Flit Asuno isn't ''ugly'' by any standards, the huge stress and hard work coming from his high responsabilities in the UE military as well as his DarkAndTroubledPast make him look [[YoungerThanTheyLook quite older than his 39 years old]], contrasting with his wife and VictoriousChildhoodFriend (sorta) Emily, who seems to have ''barely'' aged in the TimeSkip. However, some pictures taken few years before the second season took place (when his son Asemu was a little kid) show that he played the trope ''incredibly'' straight. And in the third season of the show, at age 53 Flit moved into [[FoxyGrandma hot grandfather]] status.]]
*** [[spoiler: Asemu himself has become Kio's HotDad in the third season. At first he was a babyfaced one who barely looked his age, then when he returns as Captain Ash after being missing for years he's more mature-looking and rugged but still very handsome.]]
* Once again, ''LightNovel/{{Baccano}}!'''s Huey Laforet hardly a "figure of impossible perfection," being a morally ambiguous MadScientist currently spending prison time for federal treason, but he is an almost [[{{bishonen}} disturbingly pretty]] father of two who, thanks to alchemically-induced {{immortality}}, looks more like his eldest daughter's half-identical twin brother than parent.
** Also inverts the OverprotectiveDad, since he has no problem [[TykeBomb winding her up and sending her out as a battle pawn]]. She, on the other hand, will kill any perceived threat to him, in spite of his immortality.
** In the 2002 Novel we see their grandchildren, so, by ForegoneConclusion, [[spoiler: Claire Stanfield/Felix Walken]] becomes this with [[spoiler: Chane Laforet]] as his wife.
* Suguru Daimon, Masaru's father in ''Anime/DigimonSavers'', turns out to be one when he [[DisappearedDad finally shows up]]. He's also {{badass}} enough to fight on the same level as Mega-level digimon with his ''bare hands''.
** Another Digimon example is Yamato's (divorced) dad, Hiroaki Ishida.
** [[spoiler: All of the male Digidestined become Hot Dads in the end.]]
** [[DubNameChange Henry's]] dad sort of counts in [[Anime/DigimonTamers Tamers]]...in a NerdsAreSexy way.
* ''BeautyPop'''s Kiri Koshiba has a Hot Dad in her father, Seiji Koshiba. At the moment he's more on the scruffy seinen side, but flashbacks to his glory days as 'The Number One Stylist In The World' show him as totally bish. Presumably, Narumi Shogo's dad was also fairly hot-- We never see him from the front, but it's often remarked how alike he and his son are, so presumably he would've looked like Narumi (if a bit older).
* In ''ZodiacPI'', Lili's dad Inspector Hoshizawa is definitely bishonen, and it's remarked on by Lili's friends as well.
* Mr. Koiwai from ''{{Yotsubato}}''. Some friends of Fuuka mention he looks handsome.
* ''{{Mai-Otome}}'' seemed to be trying for this with Nina's adoptive father Sergey.
* ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'': Two HospitalHottie examples are Dr. Isshin Kurosaki and Dr. Ryuuken Ishida. Isshin is Ichigo's father and Ryuuken is Uryuu's father. Isshin is the CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass who was BroughtDownToNormal for twenty years before CantStayNormal kicked in while Ryuuken is the HeroicNeutral ArcherArchetype who is attempting RefusalOfTheCall. They are both RetiredBadass VitriolicBestBuds claiming a twenty-year OddFriendship and the united view that they're both [[WhatTheHellDad bad fathers]].
* Akane Tendo's dad Soun from {{Ranma}} is tall, dark and handsome. He's generally a good guy too despite being very emotional and friends with [[{{Jerkass}} Genma]].
** And despite the ''very'' weird faces that he makes when he's over-emotional. Still better-looking than many men his age.
** In the ''only'' time he ever bothers to [[SheCleansupNicely dress up and ditch the odd faces]] in the anime, Principal Kuno is regarded as ''extremely'' handsome. Lampshaded nicely by some female bystanders that see him walk around on the streets in a nice suit... [[HilarityEnsues until he ruins it by, well, being himself.]]
* Mendou and Ryoko's dad from UruseiYatsura is a very good looking older man. In fact, he just looks like his son Shuutarou with a mustache.
* [[spoiler: Mitaka]] is heading towards this trope by the end of MaisonIkkoku. [[spoiler: Godai has already reached it, though he's more cute than hot. Specially compared with his companion, Kyouko.]]
* Syn I from ''HeliosEclipse''. [[spoiler:Who is also [[LukeIAmYourFather Eddy]].]] While his child may be a toddler, Spade certainly counts too.
* The main character's father in ''Aoi Destruction'', who looks and acts more like a little girl to the point that EvenTheGuysWantHim, [[strike:until]] ''even after'' they've realized that [[UnsettlingGenderReveal it's a trap]].
* Van Hohenheim from ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'' looks older than the standard [[spoiler: and is MUCH. much older than he looks]], but fits in like whoa.
** Hughes too.
** [[spoiler:Father in his final form. It helps that he looks like a younger Hohenheim]]
** [[spoiler:And in the end of the manga, Ed becomes a hot dad too. With Winry as his companion.]]
* In ''VisualNovel/UminekoNoNakuKoroNi'' Rudolf Ushiromiya has aged pretty well. One of the few examples that has both a [[{{Bishonen}} handsome]] [[AgentScully son]] AND [[{{Moe}} an adorable little daughter]] (who [[FutureBadass grows up to be]] quite pretty herself). He's also a unique widower in that he has already remarried.
* Honey's father, Dr. Kisaragi, was made into a hot shoujo dad for ''Anime/CuteyHoney'' Flash.
* Hajime Shibata in ''HellGirl'', despite token attempts at slobbishness (i.e. four-o'clock stubble). Also looks ludicrously young, when you consider that his daughter Tsugumi is at least ten years old.
* Sabato Rokudo, Rinne's father, from ''Manga/{{Rinne}}''. Too bad he's an horrible {{Jerkass}}.
* [[spoiler: Yoh and Ren]] from ''Manga/ShamanKing'' become this, from what we see in the side stories after the manga had ended. Before he got badly scarred and hid his face under a CoolMask, Yoh's father Mikihisa was pretty good looking too, if a bit on the hobo side.
* ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'': Gendo Ikari. I mean, tell me he isn't handsome for a man who's pushing 50. Not to mention how many women fall in love with him.
* Chikage from AntiqueBakery certainly qualifies in the hotness department, but he's a dad only in the most literal sense. As a CloudCuckooLander, he was smart enough to know that he wouldn't be a great parent, but agreed to help someone conceive anyway (the woman chose him mainly for his looks). One of the other characters is surprised that he even knew how to make children.
* Haru's father Gale Glory from ''RaveMaster''.
** And [[spoiler: Haru himself, based on the Levin comic strips, who happens to be his son.]]
* Vincent Phantomhive from ''Manga/BlackButler''.
* At the end of ''{{Karin}}'', [[spoiler: Kenta and Ren]] become this.
* From ''NagasareteAirantou'', Ikuto's DisappearedDad, who looks a lot like his son. It's clear to see where Ikuto [[spoiler: and Utau]] get their looks from.
* Rahzel's adopted father from ''HatenkouYuugi'' fits this trope so, so well. [[spoiler:Her biological father's not bad either.]]
* Kaburagi Kotetsu, a.k.a. Wild Tiger from ''TigerAndBunny''. In his late thirties (or so), he's widowed with a nine-year old daughter. He's also achieved MemeticSexGod status in the fandom.
* Sena's dad in ''LightNovel/BokuWaTomodachiGaSukunai'' without a doubt qualifies as [[TheWoobie cute]]
* Daisuke's dad and Satoshi's dad in ''DNAngel''.
* Technically, [[spoiler:Holland]] from EurekaSeven, [[spoiler:since he and Talho end up expecting (surprise!) about 3/4ths of the way through the series.]]
* To the fangirls of ''{{Berserk}}'' [[spoiler: Guts]] is the hottest dad around, despite the fact that he's father to [[spoiler: a weird, supernatural offspring [[TouchedByVorlons that was conceived]] through a traumatizing event that cost his lover her sanity.]]... [[BadassAdorable But the kid turned out cute later!]]
* ''{{Inuyasha}}'' and Sesshomaru's father, the Inu no Taisho, was unquestionably one of these. Sesshomaru himself also qualifies as a father figure to Rin. [[spoiler: And Miroku becomes one at the end of the series]].
* Tomohisa Kaname from ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'' is handsome, very nice, takes care of the household (his wife Junko is the breadwinner), cooks well, and he adores his family very much. His daughter [[TheHeroine Madoka]] got more from his personality than Junko's. Madoka [[AllThereInTheManual says]] she would marry someone who is like her ''mom''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Comics]]
* Franchise/{{Batman}} currently has ''six'' kids running around the [=DCnU=]: his biological son, three adopted sons, one adopted daughter, and one biological daughter from a parallel universe.
* Magnus aka {{Magneto}} from the ComicBook/{{X-Men}}. [[StandardizedLeader Cyclops']] father [[LovableRogue Corsair]] and [[NinetiesAntiHero son]] Comicbook/{{Cable}} (who is also a father, as well as a [[PapaWolf father figure]] in recent arcs) have significant followings of their own. Cyke himself is a bit more of a BaseBreaker, though out of the three men [[TallDarkAndHandsome fits the physical type best.]]
* In ComicBook/GoldDigger, Theodore Diggers: father of three, grandfather, and all-around beefcake. He ''still'' makes women swoon well into his sixties, including his own hot wife Julia.
%% * In ''Comicbook/TeenTitans'' and ''GreenArrow'', Roy Harper definitely qualifies.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Films -- Animated]]
* Cassim, Aladdin's father in Disney's ''Disney/AladdinAndTheKingOfThieves''. Many actually seem to find him sexier than his son.
* Mr. Incredible in Pixar's ''WesternAnimation/TheIncredibles''.
* Prince Eric becomes one of these in ''Disney/TheLittleMermaidIIReturnToTheSea''.
* Cornelius, Wilbur's father, in ''MeetTheRobinsons'' is revealed to be this. [[spoiler: Bonus points because [[ShesAllGrownUp Cornelius is Lewis]].]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Films -- Live-Action]]
* Robert of Disney's ''{{Enchanted}}'', a divorced father with a young daughter.
%% * Indiana Jones in ''Film/IndianaJonesAndTheKingdomOfTheCrystalSkull''.
%% * Henry Jones in ''Film/TheLastCrusade'', Sr (for the die-hard-devoted lady fans of SeanConnery) in the ''Franchise/IndianaJones'' saga.
* There was a brief moment in ''Film/LordOfTheRings'' where Arwen sees a vision of her young son with an aged Aragorn. And damn, [[GrandmaWhatMassiveHotnessYouHave he still looks fine.]] Not to mention he acts as the TeamDad and AFatherToHisMen for the rest of the Fellowship.
%% * The Commander in ''Film/SkyHigh''.
%% * Jude Law's character from ''Film/TheHoliday'', a widowed man with two young daughters.
* WillSmith as the hard-working, charismatic single dad Chris Gardner in ''ThePursuitOfHappyness''. The doggedness with which he protects his son from their unfortunate living conditions is truly awe-inspiring, especially since this is also a RealLife example.
%% * LeonardoDiCaprio as the widowed Cobb in ''Film/{{Inception}}''.
%% * Alejandro (played by AntonioBanderas) in the sequel ''[[TheMaskOfZorro The Legend of Zorro]]''.
%% * Creator/ArnoldSchwarzenegger in ''Film/{{Commando}}''.
%% * Lester tries to become one in ''AmericanBeauty''.
* Creator/MattDamon in ''Film/WeBoughtAZoo'', to the point that multiple women are very forwardly lusting after him only ''six months'' after his wife died.
* In ''Film/StarTrek'', George Kirk is quite fetching. [[spoiler:Plus, he has that whole HeroicSacrifice thing going for him, being willing to give his life for his wife, newborn son, and crew]].
** Leonard "Bones" [=McCoy=].
* Liam Neeson as a divorced dad in {{Taken}} and as a widowed step-dad in ''{{Love Actually}}''. The fact that he's now a widowed dad in real life makes the latter all the more poignant.
%% * Dennis Quaid in {{The Parent Trap}} remake, as a divorced man.
* Herc Hansen in ''PacificRim''. Also Stacker Pentecost, the adopted father of Mako Mori.
* Thranduil the Elvenking and Bard the Bowman from ''Film/TheHobbit'', both of whom are widowers (although Thranduil's wife may have sailed to Valinor prior to the films) and appear to have raised their children by themselves.
** Thorin Oakenshield could also count as a [[HotDad Hot Uncle]], since it's heavily implied that he helped raise Fíli and Kíli (the sons of his sister) after the death of their father.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Literature]]
* Mo from ''Literature/TheInkworldTrilogy''. WordOfGod is that he was always supposed to look like Brendan Fraser, although it didn't come across so clearly to the reader until Inkspell.
* ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'''s Dr. Carlisle Cullen. He's not a widower (he's been married to Esme for nearly a century), but he fits just about every other requirement of this trope.
* ''Literature/{{Outlander}}'' has Lord John fitting this trope. Already established as a fan-favorite StraightGay, slightly bishonen OfficerAndAGentleman, he shifts into hot protective dad mode whenever his adopted son William comes into play.
* In ''Literature/TheDresdenFiles'' we have [[spoiler: Harry Dresden himself]], as well as Michael Carpenter.
* In Marisha Pessl's ''SpecialTopicsInCalamityPhysics'', Blue Van Meer's father Gareth is one of these. Constantly moving around, he seduces a string of attractive women and discards them when he tires of them. Blue eventually comes to realize what a {{jerkass}} he is.
* Mentioned in the ''Series/DoctorWho'' Literature/EighthDoctorAdventures novel ''Father Time''. The Eighth Doctor appears to be around forty and is such a MrFanservice that the actor who played him actually has his own Estrogen Brigade. Miranda, his [[ChildrenRaiseYou adopted daughter]], has a best friend and classmate who, at only fifteen, {{squick}}s said daughter by saying he's "gorgeous" and "hunky" and inquiring as to whether he "go[es] in for the schoolgirl type," and generally displays an excessive interest in his ([[ChasteHero almost nonexistent]]) love life.
* '' Literature/ASongOfIceAndFire''
** Oberyn Martell, a MemeticSexGod, has eight bastard daughters who idolize him.
** [[spoiler: Jaime Lannister]] is one too, as [[spoiler: the incestuous lover of his sister Cersei and the father of her three kids.]]
* Tekla's father Tommy in Viveca Lärn's ''Literature/{{Tekla}}'' series. An extremely handsome 33-year-old artist, he's always getting chased by the women, much to his daughter's chagrin.
* [[spoiler:Peeta Mellark]] in "''Literature/TheHungerGames''", eventually.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Live-Action TV]]
* ''Series/{{Californication}}'' gives us Hank Motherfuckin' Moody. Women keep coming to his bed and he's too weak to say no, even though he loves the mother of his teenage daughter.
* ''Series/DoctorWho''
** The Doctor himself used to be a father (before the Time War). [[spoiler:His clone daughter Jenny]]. One of his first companions was his granddaughter.
** [[spoiler: Rory Williams]] in series 6 is another good example.
** Alan Jackson, Maria's father, on ''Series/TheSarahJaneAdventures''. He cooks, cleans, works out, skateboards, and fends off his ex-wife. All the while managing to remain oblivious to all the oddness in his daughter's life since they moved the house opposite a former ''Series/DoctorWho'' companion. [[spoiler:That is until Maria gets abducted by aliens who use RetGone, because he had a doohickey in his possession that made him immune he remembers her and goes PapaWolf on said aliens.]] His [[spoiler: replacement character]] Haresh is pretty hot as well.
** In ''Series/{{Torchwood}}'', [[spoiler: Jack Harkness]] has at least one daughter. She's naturally starting to [[spoiler: look older than he does]], and although they care a lot about each other, she doesn't want him to freak out her own child.
* Basically all of the fathers on ''Series/TheSecretCircle'':
** Charles
** Ethan
** John.
* The Chilean telenovela ''Papi Ricky'' ("Daddy Ricky") has one of these as its main character. He's raised his daughter alone for eight years, and apart from dealing with her strict great-grandmother (Grandma of the kid's MissingMom), he's a CoolTeacher in the middle of a LoveTriangle along with a ProperLady co-worker and a mysterious BrokenBird who befriends his little girl [[spoiler: (and who actually ''is'' the MissingMom, only with LaserGuidedAmnesia)]].
* ''Series/{{Supernatural}}'':
** Daddy John Winchester. You might not want him as your father ([[ParentsAsPeople because, well, he's got VERY SERIOUS issues]]) but ''damn'', the old guy is hot. Just look out for the CartwrightCurse: it runs in the family.
%% ** Jimmy Novak, [[spoiler: Castiel's vessel]].
%% * Burt from ''Series/RaisingHope''. And he's a grandfather, too!
%% * Dr. Mohinder Suresh in ''Series/{{Heroes}}'' fits into this trope in the second season, after he and Matt Parkman take Molly under their wings.
%% * ''Series/BattlestarGalacticaReimagined'''s Helo.
* An adoptive stepparent example of Captain Apollo from [[BattlestarGalacticaClassic from the original series]]. In his case, he adopts Boxey after [[spoiler:the boy's mother (who is also Apollo's wife) is killed by the Cylons]] during a mission in Kobol.
* Rick Castle from ''Series/{{Castle}}''. He's a dashing writer played by Creator/NathonFillion, and he's often on list of the most eligible bachelors of New York. He's divorced and has a teenage daughter.
* ''OneTreeHill'':
** Peyton's Dad. Brooke once referred to him as "a total DILF".
%% ** [[spoiler: Nathan Scott]], in later seasons. So. Very. Much.
%% * Jack Bristow of ''Series/{{Alias}}''.
%% * Christopher Sieber's character on ''Two of a Kind''.
%% * In ''Series/MadMen'', Don Draper certainly counts.
* ''Series/{{MADtv}}'': The "My Gay Dad" sketch is summed up in the theme song: "My gay dad always steals my boyfriends even though they say they're straight, and promise me that they won't fall for him but they always do every time. Because he's so irresistible, they can't help themselves AND I HATE IT!!"
%% * Aaron Hotchner of ''Series/CriminalMinds''. [[TheStoic Stoic]] {{badass}} who will make your life hell for touching his [[TrueCompanions team]], never mind his ''actual'' son. [[DespairEventHorizon God help]] anyone (especially the Reaper) who goes after Jack.
%% * Housekeeper Tony on ''WhosTheBoss''.
%% * Robby Ray Stewart from ''Series/HannahMontana''
%% * Jerry Russo from ''Series/WizardsOfWaverlyPlace''
%% * Kurt Martin from ''Series/TheSuiteLifeOfZackAndCody''
%% * Mark Sloan from ''Series/GreysAnatomy''.
* Joseph Adama of ''{{Caprica}}'', especially in the 1920s-style suit and fedora he wears in New Cap City. However, when Joseph gets a severe case of HeroicBSOD and becomes functionally useless as a father, his brother [[ManlyGay Sam]], who is taller, hotter and way more [[{{Gayngster}} badass]], steps into the role with even more enthusiasm.
%% * Benjamin Sisko of ''Series/StarTrekDeepSpaceNine''.
%% * Jonathan Kent on ''Series/{{Smallville}}''.
* Leroy Jethro Gibbs on ''Series/{{NCIS}}''. His own daughter and wife are dead, but he's TeamDad to the NCIS [[TrueCompanions crew]]. [[{{Badass}} Ziva]] calls him the closest thing she's had to a father figure, and [[PerkyGoth Abby]] plays the DaddysGirl bit to the hilt. Gibbs has, in turn, transferred all OverprotectiveDad tendencies to Abby, because [[{{Determinator}} heaven]] [[ColdSniper help]] you if you mess with her.
%% * Awesome from ''{{Chuck}}''. Have you seen his abs? John Casey. Then again, he's played by Creator/AdamBaldwin.
%% * Both Danny Tanner and his brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis from ''Series/FullHouse''.
%% * Seeley Booth on ''Series/{{Bones}}'' definitely counts.
%% * The title character of ''Series/{{Angel}}'', same actor as [[Series/{{Bones}} Booth]], which explains a lot.
%% * Jimmy Darmody of ''BoardwalkEmpire''.
%% * Danny Messer, ''{{CSI NY}}''.
%% * Jim from ''Series/{{The Office|US}}''.
%% * George from ''{{Suburgatory}}''.
* B.J. Hunnicutt from ''Series/{{Mash}}''. He is a HospitalHottie and devoted family man and HappilyMarried who loves his wife and little daughter. He's a fun guy who likes pulling pranks.
%% * Julius from ''EverybodyHatesChris''.
%% * Frank from ''Series/StepByStep''.
%% * Mike Brady from ''TheBradyBunch''.
%% * ''Series/ILoveLucy'' has Ricky Ricardo.
%% * Mr. Sheffield from ''TheNanny''
%% * Sheriff Stilinski and Chris Argent (Allison's father, [[FanNickname also known as Papa Argent]]) from ''Series/TeenWolf''.
%% * Det. Elliot Stabler from ''Series/LawAndOrderSpecialVictimsUnit'', especially pre-[[HollywoodPudgy beer gut]].
* Caroline's friend and roommate Max is in awe of her imprisoned father, Martin, when she finally meets him in the second-season premiere of ''Series/TwoBrokeGirls''.
%% * Danno on ''Series/HawaiiFive0''.
%%* Prince Charming in ''Series/OnceUponATime'' and due to some magic involved, doubles as a hot grandpa.
%% ** [[spoiler: Neal Cassidy aka Baelfire]], Henry's father.
%% * Stuart from the UK QueerAsFolk, both in and out of universe.

[[folder:Video Games]]
* The Player Character's dad is pretty hot in Fallout 3. It helps that he's voiced by Liam Neeson.
* Ephraim and Eirika's faher Fado in FireEmblemTheSacredStones is still quite [[http://serenesforest.net/media/fe8illust/few/Fado.jpg rugged looking]] and [[http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v139/VincentASM/Site/FE8/Fardo.gif handsome]]. This is made [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XFKUuyvg8c fun of]] in the [[MemeticMutation Gheb]] patch.
** Innes and Tana's father King Hayden [[http://serenesforest.net/media/fe8illust/few/Hayden.jpg isn't hard]] [[http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v139/VincentASM/Site/FE8/Hayden.gif on the eyes]], either.
** L'Arachel's uncle [[ParentalSubstitute and caretaker]], [[http://fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/Mansel Pontifex Mansel]], counts too.
** And [[http://fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/Vigarde Emperor Vigarde aka Lyon's dad]]. [[spoiler: Too bad he CameBackWrong.]]
*** A non-human example is [[http://fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/Morva Morva]], Myrr's adoptive father. [[spoiler: He also CameBackWrong.]]
*** Several males are mentioned to become hot dads if the player gets them to reach A support with some pre-determined females. Such A-support endings are: [[spoiler: Franz/Amelia (daughter), Ross/Amelia (son), Ewan/Amelia (daughter), Kyle/Lute (son), Kyle/Selene (daughter), Innes/Vanessa (gender not specified, can go either way), Colm/Neimi (son ''and'' daughter), Artur/Lute (son) and Saleh/Eirika (daughter)]]. It should be noticed that not ''every'' male who gets married is specifically mentioned to become a dad, so...
** Almost all the males in [[FireEmblemJugdral Seisen no Keifu's first generation]] can become hot dads if you get them paired up. (Except [[{{Gonk}} Arden]]. Poor guy.) Quan already ''is'' one, what with [[spoiler: Altenna and Leif]], and then there's Sigurd...
*** Special mention goes to Prince Lewyn of Silessa: even if you don't manage to hook him up with anyone in Gen 1, he becomes the TeamDad for the kids in Gen 2 ''and'' has already been [[spoiler: Princess Julia]]'s ParentalSubstitute for a while.
*** Also to Finn, who is the ParentalSubstitute for Leif and Nanna in both Gen 2 and ''Thracia 776'' whether you hook him up or not with any Gen 1 girl. Though he does double duty too if you ''did'' manage to pair him up, and specially if [[spoiler: his partner was Raquesis, since she ''is'' Nanna's mother. Even more so, ''Thracia 776'' pretty much canonizes him as Nanna's birth dad - and does the same for Lewyn as Ced and Fee's father.]]
** Chrom from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening'' marries his wife ([[spoiler: who can be either a girl Avatar, Maribelle, Olivia, Sumia or Sully]]) about halfway through the game, and she gives birth to a daughter, Lucina, before the end of the game [[spoiler: and she'll sooner or later have her own pre-destined child (Morgan, Brady, Inigo, Cynthia or Kjelle, respectively)]]. There are also several good-looking [[spoiler: first generation]] males who can become fathers [[spoiler: of the other kids from the future]], but it depends on your strategies.
* Though he's only an adoptive father, there's been quite the buzz about [[PhoenixWrightAceAttorney Phoenix Wright's]] incarnation in ''[[ApolloJusticeAceAttorney Apollo Justice]]''. It doesn't help that seven years' bad luck has turned him into a [[TheChessmaster chessmaster]] capable of pulling off one of the most confusing schemes you've ever seen.
* ''{{Persona 4}}'''s Ryotaro Dojima doesn't quite fit the traits above ([[ParentsAsPeople although he tries]]), but he is still this to many fans. [[StupidSexyFlanders Including some of the guys]].
* Harry Mason of ''SilentHill'' is about as handsome a man as the PSX was able to render. He is also willing to (almost literally) go through hell and back for his adopted daughter.
** Murphy Pendleton from ''SilentHillDownpour'' also qualifies. [[spoiler: James from ''SilentHill2'' fits when he adopts Laura in one of the endings]].
* Braska of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX'' is a borderline example: Since he died when Yuna was little, all of his appearances in the game naturally show him as an attractive young man in his mid/late-twenties. He definitely fits the rest of the trope, though--after Yuna's mother died when Sin destroyed the ship she was in, he decided to ''take on Sin'' so neither Yuna nor the rest of the world would suffer the same pain he went through.
** And then there's Tidus's father Jecht. Fandom's even [[MemeticSexGod deified]] him for it after ''FinalFantasyDissidia''.
* Laguna Loire from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIII''. My god, [[http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2010/12/500x_laguna.jpg look at him]], you'd think he was still a teenager [[spoiler: instead of old enough to be Squall's father]].
** Although the linked picture is a little inaccurate, since it shows Laguna in his youth, in-game the only change in his character model is the addition of a few subtle lines at he corners of his mouth.
* [[spoiler:Kratos Aurion, Lloyd's father]] from ''VideoGame/TalesOfSymphonia''. Subverted that despite being a rather powerful warrior, he shows 'kindness' and 'loving' by other means than usual shoujo dads. It also helps that [[spoiler:the special Cruxis technology in his body stops his biological clock, so he's technically been twenty-eight for about 4,000 years at this point.]]
* ''VideoGame/GodOfWar'': Kratos could qualify, especially for fans of BaraGenre.
* In ''VideoGame/TalesOfDestiny 2'', Stahn has a 15-year-old son, but barely seems to have aged at all himself. Add a shoujo artist (Mutsumi Inomata) to the mix, and [[http://yusa.imouto.org/sample/29a925723ffdfa2a6036011eacb4cd5b/moe%2045185%20sample.jpg voila]].
* Norman and Byron in ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}''. Some may consider Koga one of these as well.
** How can you not mention Palmer? He seems to be this mixed with MemeticSexGod.
* Guile may qualify for this in ''VideoGame/StreetFighterII'', but Ken definitely is this in ''VideoGame/StreetFighterIII''.
* From ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI'', [[spoiler:Shadow. Or at least one can imagine. Considering how powerful and agile (and sexy) he is, one might forget he's old enough to have a 10-year-old daughter.]]
** Maduin, Terra's father, is pretty good looking for an [[spoiler:Esper.]]
* [[spoiler: Sol Badguy]] from GuiltyGear if you believe [[spoiler: he's the father of Dizzy.]] Ky Kiske also counts after the events of Guilty Gear 2.
* [[spoiler: Raiden]] in ''MetalGearSolid2'' and especially in ''[[MetalGearSolid4 4]]'', [[spoiler:after a lot of reconstructive surgery and prosthetic limbs are attached.]]
** Not quite a dad, but Big Boss should get an honorable mention at the very least. After all, [[EvenTheGuysWantHim Everyone]] [[MemeticMutation is gay]] [[PerverseSexualLust for Big Boss]].
* The few times we see him, ''VideoGame/GoldenSun'''s Kyle looks like he could be Isaac's scruffy older brother.
** And it seems to run in the family, as Isaac himself is shaping up to be this in ''Dark Dawn''.
** [[spoiler: [[HiddenAgendaVillain Alex]] is implied to be Amiti's father in ''Dark Dawn'', and still every bit the {{Bishounen}} he was in the first two games. On the other hand, he's also still [[ManipulativeBastard A]][[ItsAllAboutMe l]][[ChronicBackstabbingDisorder e]][[EvilGenius x]].]]
* Dr. Cossack from ''VideoGame/MegaMan''. Does anyone else find those glasses incredibly attractive?
* Kazuma Kiryuu from ''[[RyuGaGotoku Yakuza]]'' is apparently one of these; all the women at the hostess clubs seem to find him ''very'' attractive.
* [[TheHero Cecil]] is already considered very attractive in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyIV''. Seventeen years and one marriage-and-kid later...and little has changed.
** Though Cecil's the only one with a child in ''TheAfterYears'', the same basic principle (attractive older man) applies to Edge, Kain, [[spoiler:Golbez]], and Edward (Yang too, if your taste runs that way). These are men ranging from thirty-eight to fifty-two, all of them looking at least ten years younger. Significant parts of the fandom find them more attractive now than at their supposed prime.
*** Actually, Cecil [[http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Ursula_Fang_Leiden isn't the only main character]] with a child. She's a playable character even.
* In ''VideoGame/DisgaeaHourOfDarkness'', it turns out that, much to everyone's surprise, the self-titled Dark Adonis Vyers has a teenaged son: [[spoiler:[[LukeIAmYourFather Laharl]]]].
* Chuck Greene from ''DeadRising2'' is a stellar example. Apart from his [[http://www.crushfragdestroy.com/wp-content/gallery/dead-rising-2-x10-screens/stoic_chuck_bmp_jpgcopy.jpg rugged good looks]], he's good with his hands, would go through [[ZombieApocalypse hell]] for his daughter, [[VirtualPaperDoll and can be dressed in skimpy outfits]].
* Carth Onasi from ''KnightsOfTheOldRepublic''. Of course, he lost his son in the Telos bombing [[spoiler: you do find the kid. He's gone Sith, and it's on you both to try and talk him out of it...if you're inclined]].
* [[VideoGame/StarFox James McCloud]], completely with CoolShades.
* Ethan Mars from HeavyRain. He's modeled after a [[http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMzgxNjgyMTAzMV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNjIyODM4Nw@@._V1._SY314_CR8,0,214,314_.jpg famous French actor]], divorced from his wife during the bulk of the storyline and his whole character arc is essentially an exploration of what a father will do to save his son, which, depending on the player's actions can include [[spoiler:cutting off part of his own finger, killing a man, risking his own death and eventually committing suicide (or so he's led to believe).]]
* [[spoiler:Booker [=DeWitt=]]] from ''[[VideoGame/BioshockInfinite BioShock Infinite]]'', whose attractiveness is remarked upon by a few citizens of Columbia. [[spoiler:He's the biological father of Elizabeth]].
* The inclusion of Gracia in ''SamuraiWarriors'' makes Akechi Mitsuhide a Hot Dad.
* Relius Clover of ''VideoGame/BlazBlue''. OK, so he's a [[NightmareFuel terrifying]] [[TheSociopath sociopath]], but that doesn't even seem to slow the fangirl wagon down one bit.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Webcomics]]
* Subverted in ''Webcomic/{{Misfile}}''. Although Ash's father is definitely hot and protective, he's also several of the named characters' ''gynecologist'' and has a tendency to remember his patients by their, er, "features", making him the exact opposite of comfortable ''or'' sexy.
* In ''Webcomic/TheAdventuresOfWiglafAndMordred'', Geoffrey is definitely one of these. [[http://liliy.net/wam/archive/you-should-do-that-yes/ Good-looking]], [[http://liliy.net/wam/2008/06/29/home-sweet-home/ impeccably polite]], and [[http://liliy.net/wam/2008/07/02/daddy-knows-best/ violently protective]]. He subverts the PuritySue stereotype by having developed an tolerance level (and perhaps even a taste) for evil since marrying the super-villainess who kidnapped him.
* ''Webcomic/{{Altermeta}}'' has [[http://www.altermeta.net/archive.php?comic=13&view=showfiller Sasha's dad]]. His {{Bishonen}} appearance apparently runs in the family.
* Elan and his father Tarquin from ''Webcomic/TheOrderOfTheStick'' are both apparently very handsome men.
** [[StickFigureComic Apparently]].
* [[EmperorScientist Klaus Wulfenbach]] of ''Webcomic/GirlGenius''.
* Marten's dad Henry from ''QuestionableContent''. He is in his late fifties or early sixties, and is pretty much a grey-haired version of his twentysomething son, with the confidence that comes from a long, adventurous life. Both Dora and Claire comment on the resemblance and hotness.

[[folder:Web Original]]
* [[SilverFox Zeus]], [[{{Bishonen}} Apollo]], and whoever Eros' [[WarGod father]] [[UltimateBlacksmith is]] in ''ThaliasMusings''.
* WebVideo/AskThatGuyWithTheGlasses has fathered God knows how many children, and is by far the [[FemaleGaze most]] [[MrFanservice sexualized]] [[DepravedBisexual person]] on [[WebSite/ThatGuyWithTheGlasses the site]].
** For a ShipTease BigLippedAlligatorMoment in the ''{{Ferngully}}'' review, the PapaWolf PrettyBoy [[WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic Nostalgia Critic]] became a MisterSeahorse daddy courtesy of WebVideo/TheNostalgiaChick.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Western Animation]]
* ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'':
** Katara and Sokka's dad, Hakoda. Although he has kinda a rough and hardened appearance (in contrast to the softer, more bishounen appearance expected of your typical shoujo dad), that's part of his appeal, as well as being a strong, loving figure.
** On a lesser (or perhaps greater) note, Zuko's father, [[BigBad Fire Lord Ozai]].
** In a future flashback in ''The Promise Part 3'', Aang himself has become this.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'' Tonraq, Korra's dad, counts as one.
* Arguably, Professor Utonium from the ''ThePowerPuffGirls''. Aside from the art style, (which is far from the bishi-style of Shoujo animes, or anime in general) he is attractive, on top of being smart, loving, and protective of his girls. He may be a big dork, but for some girls, [[NerdsAreSexy that's part of his charm]].
* Possibly Timmy Turner from ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents'' at the end of ''WesternAnimation/ChannelChasers''.
* David "Dave" Seville from ''[[AlvinAndTheChipmunks The Chipmunks]]''. Same reason as Professor Utonium.
* Mr. Garcia, Jonesy's father, from ''WesternAnimation/{{Sixteen}}''.
* Daphne's father from ''[[ScoobyDooMysteryInc Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated]]''.
* Kate's father, Peter from ''WesternAnimation/PuppyinMyPocket''.
* In ''La Famille Glady'', the extremely cutesy and weird character design makes Sim Glady, the father of the family, look so cute and young that he looks more like his three children's BigBrotherMentor than their dad. Same goes to his wife, Sonia.
* Zachary Foxx from ''WesternAnimation/AdventuresOfTheGalaxyRangers''. Has a 15-year-old son and a daughter that's about 12, and is AFatherToHisMen.
* John Redcorn of ''KingOfTheHill'', though this is played with, since [[spoiler:he isn't raising Joseph and Joseph doesn't know who his real father is]].
* Anthony's dad from ''WesternAnimation/RenAndStimpy''

The Hot Dad, a male parental figure that caters to the ''female'' (or [[LGBTFanbase male]]) demographic's wants and desires.

The Hot Dad possesses an
following:

* AbsurdlyYouthfulFather: His unusually youthful
appearance more fitting (or, through story conventions, his actual youth) is played for half his age, and is often a widower. He dotes attractiveness.
* FetishFuel: Some people are just turned
on [[DaddysGirl his daughter]] with a [[OverprotectiveDad borderline-homicidal protectiveness]] should any male her age even glance at her. To the utter embarrassment of their child, they act like high-schoolers in love in front of his/her friends.

In the case where the Hot Dad is actively pursued
by women half his age in-universe, he can become the series ''StacysMom''. Contrast TheUglyGuysHotDaughter.

* ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'':
* ''Manga/CardcaptorSakura'':
But still

%%
fathers.
* Forbessi, the Kind and Handsome ''Demon Lord'' father of Nerine in the harem anime ''{{Shuffle}}''.
* ''KareKano'':
* Konoka's father Eishun (a Japanese pronunciation of the Chinese Kung Fu style "Wing Chun") in ''MahouSenseiNegima'',
GrandmaWhatMassiveHotnessYouHave: A man who is a wise Martial-Arts Master AND Grand Sorcerer, is a slightly older example.
[[spoiler: While second-season!Flit Asuno isn't ''ugly'' by any standards, the huge stress and hard work coming from his high responsabilities in the UE military as well as his DarkAndTroubledPast make him look [[YoungerThanTheyLook quite older than his 39 years old]], contrasting with his wife and VictoriousChildhoodFriend (sorta) Emily, who seems to have ''barely''
visibly aged in the TimeSkip.
* Once again, ''LightNovel/{{Baccano}}!'''s Huey Laforet hardly a "figure of impossible perfection," being a morally ambiguous MadScientist currently spending prison time for federal treason, but he
(gray[ing] hair, wrinkles, etc.) is an almost [[{{bishonen}} disturbingly pretty]] father of two who, thanks to alchemically-induced {{immortality}}, looks more like his eldest daughter's half-identical twin brother than parent.
* Vincent Phantomhive from ''Manga/BlackButler''.

* Mr. Incredible in Pixar's ''WesternAnimation/TheIncredibles''.

* Robert of Disney's ''{{Enchanted}}'', a divorced father with a young daughter.

* '' Literature/ASongOfIceAndFire''
* [[spoiler:Peeta Mellark]] in "''Literature/TheHungerGames''", eventually.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Live-Action TV]]
* ''Series/{{Californication}}'' gives us Hank Motherfuckin' Moody. Women keep coming to his bed and he's too weak to say no, even though he loves the mother of his teenage daughter.
* ''Series/DoctorWho''
* ''Series/{{Supernatural}}'':
* ''OneTreeHill'':
Have you
seen his abs? John Casey. Then again, he's played by Creator/AdamBaldwin.
%% * Both Danny Tanner and his brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis from ''Series/FullHouse''.
%% * Seeley Booth on ''Series/{{Bones}}'' definitely counts.
%% * The title character of ''Series/{{Angel}}'', same actor
as [[Series/{{Bones}} Booth]], which explains a lot.

%% * Frank from ''Series/StepByStep''.
%% * Mike Brady from ''TheBradyBunch''.

* Kazuma Kiryuu from ''[[RyuGaGotoku Yakuza]]'' is apparently one of these; all the women at the hostess clubs seem to find him ''very''
attractive.
* [[TheHero Cecil]] is already considered very attractive in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyIV''. Seventeen years and one marriage-and-kid later...and little has changed.
** Though Cecil's the only one with a child in ''TheAfterYears'', the same basic principle (attractive
SilverFox: An older man) applies to Edge, Kain, [[spoiler:Golbez]], and Edward (Yang too, if your taste runs that way). These are men ranging from thirty-eight to fifty-two, all man's signs of them looking at least ten years younger. Significant parts of the fandom find them aging make him more distinguished, thus more attractive now than at their supposed prime.
*** Actually, Cecil [[http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Ursula_Fang_Leiden isn't the only main character]] with a child. She's a playable

* StacysMom: A young
character even.
* In ''VideoGame/DisgaeaHourOfDarkness'', it turns out that, much to everyone's surprise,
finds the self-titled Dark Adonis Vyers has a teenaged son: [[spoiler:[[LukeIAmYourFather Laharl]]]].
* Chuck Greene from ''DeadRising2'' is a stellar example. * [[VideoGame/StarFox James McCloud]], completely with CoolShades.

* ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'':
** Katara and Sokka's dad, Hakoda. Although he has kinda a rough and hardened appearance (in contrast
point to the softer, more bishounen appearance expected of your typical shoujo dad), that's part of his appeal, as well as being a strong, loving figure.
* Mr. Garcia, Jonesy's father, from ''WesternAnimation/{{Sixteen}}''.
* Daphne's father from ''[[ScoobyDooMysteryInc Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated]]''.
* Kate's father, Peter from ''WesternAnimation/PuppyinMyPocket''.
* Anthony's dad from ''WesternAnimation/RenAndStimpy''
