Creator/PaulCornell [[WordOfGod confirmed]] that the Doctor and the android Master were an item in ''Scream of the Shalka'', while Creator/RussellTDavies has confirmed on multiple times that he believes the two to be almost soul mates, which is part of what makes it so tragic. Creator/StevenMoffat has also admitted to shipping them, going so far as to [[RelationshipUpgrade get them together]] at the end of the parody ''Recap/DoctorWhoTheCurseOfFatalDeath'', after the Doctor regenerates into a woman, and to have them kiss in the main series story "Dead Water"/"Death In Heaven" after the Master regenerates into a woman.

* ''Series/OnceUponATime'' has a shocking amount of FoeYay between Emma and Regina, that eventually turns into straight up LesYay when the latter makes a HeelFaceTurn. The first half of Season 4 has Emma attempting to rebuild her friendship with Regina, in pretty much the same way a lover would. One episode has a flashback to Emma's childhood about a friendship that went south - said friendship being incredibly charged with romantic undertones - and it's paralleled to Emma's current stance with Regina. The fact that Regina is the adoptive mother of Emma's son Henry has led to a couple of jokes about Henry [[HasTwoMommies having two mothers]], which is certainly no coincidence. It's by far the most popular ship on the show, named 'Swan Queen'.

* ''Webcomic/MyLifeAsABackgroundSlytherin'' turns up the FoeYay present between [[Literature/HarryPotter Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter]] into this.

* ''Series/Taskmaster'': the dom/sub sexual tension between the Taskmaster and his assistant is quite intentional and played up more and more starting from series 3. By series 6 they've kissed on screen. They've also discussed it outside the show.

* While Fai and Kurogane in ''Manga/TsubasaReservoirChronicle'' almost pass into YaoiGuys territory, the genre makes them into one huge ShipTease because the mangaka love to hear fans scream in frustration.

** The Thirteenth Doctor and Yaz have had many moments that could be interpretated as this, fans often make comparisons between them and the Tenth Doctor/Rose; the subtext [[UnresolvedSexualTension only grows stronger]] within the books, especially in the story 'The Maze of Doom'.

** In one episode, a conversation between Rachel and Monica about the fact that Monica has been shopping with Julie (Ross' girlfriend at the time) sounds exactly as if Monica has cheated on Rachel. Of course, FromACertainPointOfView, it is true. She's done something meaningful with Rachel's rival.

* ''LightNovel/EndoAndKobayashiLiveTheLatestOnTsundereVillainessLiselotte'' has an InUniverseCase. Endo and Kobayashi occasionally comment on "yuri developments" in Lieselotte's interactions with Fiene in the FictionalVideoGame ''Love Me Magically!''. They elect not to [[NoInnerFourthWall explain to Siegwald]] what they mean by that, especially since it actually wouldn't be too crazy for things to develop in that way based on what they know--and they {{ship|perondeck}} Siegwald / Lieselotte and Baldur / Fiene.

* Eminem's DepravedBisexual character, Ken Kaniff, is mostly there to do [[SongParody parodies]] of Eminem's singles turned into jokes about cocks and dicks, but he also tends to be responsible for the most sexual moments on Eminem's records. Despite his homophobia, Slim doesn't seem to be bothered by Ken being an AbhorrentAdmirer, instead calling him his "friend" and finding him funny. He's even played Ken on stage while touring, miming sex acts on a pair of blow up dolls dressed like Music/InsaneClownPosse... who then [[WrongNameOutburst call Eminem's name]], upsetting Ken.

** TheDissTrack "Killshot" is based on the idea that Music/MachineGunKelly is so obsessed with Eminem that he's like Stan from "Stan", and can't rap because his mouth is full of Eminem's cock. Eventually he concludes that Kelly should "leave [Em's] dick in [his] mouth", which carries the subtext that he's enjoying it.

** In "Stan", Stan wants to "be together" with Slim Shady, but it's left ambiguous as to whether this is in a sexual, romantic or just HeterosexualLifePartners way. Marshall, in his verse, seems to be creeped out by it, but it's also left up to interpretation whether it's due to Marshall being homophobic, having IncompatibleOrientation, or [[LoonyFan just being repulsed by Stan's overinvestment]] and AxCrazy personality. Some fans consider the {{SillyLoveSong|s}} sample to represent the idea that if Stan and Marshall ever ''did'' get together, their relationship would be as happy as the one in the SampledUp "Thank You". The version of "Stan" performed with Music/EltonJohn seems to lend weight to the queer reading, with Elton decorating the track with a romantic piano part which puts the emphasis on Stan and Marshall as StarCrossedLovers, rather than a MurderBallad. In several later songs, Eminem has used Stan's name when he's needed talk about [[EvenTheGuysWantHim how even men want him]], or needed a boyfriend for a punchline.

** Eminem also loves to do FauxYay with Music/DrDre. In "My Dad's Gone Crazy", he comes out of the closet - "''all this time, me and Dre have been fucking with hats off''". He hits on Dre in "Just Lose It" and [[VerbalBackpedalling tries to backpedal]], blaming it on BeerGoggles.

** The BlueBishounenGhetto cast of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXV'' was played up like this in the marketing, and the characters break the fourth wall to tease each other about this on occasion. However, the biggest example is Ignis, who is almost certainly gay, though nothing has ever been confirmed. In ''Episode Ignis'', Ignis is fascinated by Noctis, has GaussianGirl flashbacks about almost holding his hand, is willing to burn his own soul to death in order to protect Noct, and the other characters tease him about his lack of interest in Ardyn in such a way that implies that the issue isn't that Ardyn is ''male''. Some official Valentine's Day promo art depicted Ignis' Valentine as (the male) Ravus.

* In ''Anime/GreatPretender,'' Laurent is highly affectionate with Makoto, both in that he's [[NoSenseOfPersonalSpace unabashedly touchy-feely]] with him, and in the way he speaks to him. He even gives Makoto the AffectionateNickname "Edamame." However, the show stops just shy of confirming whether this is something he does [[TheGadfly just to mess with Makoto,]] or if it's [[AmbiguouslyBi intentional, purposeful flirtation]] on Laurent's part. The closest it comes to a confirmation one way or another is when Laurent tries to flirt with his compatriot Cynthia, and she replies that she "Thought Edamame was [his] favorite." However, it's ambiguous as to whether she's just teasing him back, or whether she thought he was genuinely more attracted to Makoto. Either way, Laurent stays mum, leaving the whole matter as subtext.

** ''HomoeroticSubtext/FamilyGuy''

* Gore Vidal claims to have inserted homoerotic subtext into the script of ''Film/BenHur'', treating two male characters as former lovers. The characters otherwise appear straight, and Charlton Heston later claimed complete ignorance of the subtext. (Heston's ignorance was a case of EnforcedMethodActing. Vidal told Stephen Boyd privately to act as if his character was in love with Ben Hur.)

* ''Film/MastersOfTheUniverse'' Hardly surprising given it's a movie based on a toy line which consisted of what were essentially homoerotic male dolls. Despite conquering Castle Grayskull and seemingly assured of victory, the evil/sexually repressed Skeletor insists on chasing He-Man (a muscly Aryan barbarian with a fondness for wearing leather panties and baby oil) halfway across the universe in order to chain him up in just his underpants and watch him get whipped in front of everyone. This was the actual storyline in what was supposed to be a children's movie.
