It covers an estimated area of 890 hectares (2,200 acres). Most of it is the underground mycelium, all you'll see above ground are the small honey mushrooms that sprout in autumn.
** We have a smaller Armillaria here in Michigan, USA. It's over 30 acres, located in Mastodon Township. The nearby city of Crystal Falls has a Humongous Fungus Fest every year.
