** The sequel ''VideoGame/PokemonScarletAndViolet'', keeps this going with the sandwiches you make on picnics, since the game includes ingredients usually not seen in sandwiches like tofu, potato salad or rice. The default recipes you find from other people at least make combinations that make sense, but when you're given free reign of them, you can end up making a tofu, kiwi, jalapeño, vinegar and prosciutto sandwich... and your characer and the Pokemon may actually enjoy it! For bonus points, the game includes the ingedients needed to recreate the Elvis Sandwich described at the begining of the article.

* ''Series/RedDwarf'': Lister enjoys such foods as is said to have only one functioning taste bud left, due to eating too many [[TrademarkFavoriteFood curries]], which may account for his more unusual food choices. Probably his most normal favourite snack is a Sugar Puff Sandwiches, Triple Fried Egg Sandwiches With Chilli Sauce And Chutney, Beer Milkshakes, Cornflakes sandwich, which is simply cereal on bread – contrast that with how he likes his cornflakes with grated raw onion and Tabasco sauce, cold curry sauce. * Barbara Ehrenreich, in her book ''Bait and Switch: The (Futile) Pursuit of the American Dream'', describes with some degree of awe watching a fellow job-searcher help himself at a buffet to "a mound of lettuce, covered with canned fruit salad, topped by a desiccated gray hamburger patty and dripping with Thousand Island dressing".
* Henry Ford liked "roadside greens": basically, weeds and other plants plucked from the ground, served as salads, soups, and sandwiches.
** This is called "foraging" and can involve gathering wild lettuce (species related to regular lettuce, except they grow in the wild), dandelions (which were originally grown as a crop, before they escaped the fields and started growing everywhere), blackberries (again, another plant that is cultivated and can be grown as a crop, but also grows wild just about anywhere and everywhere it can if the conditions are right), ramps (a species of wild onion which has an entire [[https://visitncsmokies.com/attractions/ramp-festival festival]] dedicated to it, and has become a trendy food ingredient), and other edible plants that aren't typically cultivated.
* Like most people, UsefulNotes/FrederickTheGreat liked his morning coffee. Only he put mustard in his. (He also liked to make the coffee with champagne, though it's not clear if he did that with the mustard.)
* [[UsefulNotes/NationalFootballLeague Kansas City Chiefs]] quarterback Patrick Mahomes is known for his love for ketchup, to the point where he uses the condiment for many of his meals. Several of the meals he eats with ketchup include steak, eggs, and mac and cheese. This even extends to his younger years, as he used to eat sandwiches with ''only'' bread and ketchup as a kid.
* Former LSU [[UsefulNotes/CollegiateAmericanFootball football]] coach Les Miles has a unique pregame ritual... munching on a few blades of grass plucked from the field (at least where the field is real grass, not the fake stuff). {{Lampshade|Hanging}}d by the man himself in an ESPN commercial in which he drinks a concoction that the narrator calls a "grass smoothie". This is part of why Miles' nickname is [[BunnyEarsLawyer "the Mad Hatter"]].

He also liked the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fool%27s_Gold_Loaf Fool's Gold loaf]], which is an enormous loaf of bread hollowed out and filled with peanut butter, jelly and bacon. One famous story involves Elvis entertaining two police officers who were friends of the restaurant owners and deciding that he wanted the sandwich right then and there, so they flew to Denver. Adding in the pilots and restaurant owners, the party shared 22 Fool's Gold Loaves between them, an average of three ''per person.'' * NBA player Terry Rozier is partial to spaghetti (with the spaghetti sauce in it), sugar, and ranch dressing sandwiches.
* Music/TinyTim would eat spaghetti sauce right out of the jar.
* US Presidents:
** UsefulNotes/UlyssesSGrant liked pickles -- for breakfast.
** UsefulNotes/RichardNixon would eat cottage cheese and ketchup for lunch.
** UsefulNotes/GeraldFord had a similar lunch order but preferred A-1 steak sauce on his cottage cheese.
* Edwardian artist Louis Wain said that his favorite drink was Bovril and soda.

* Small children sometimes display this behavior — and eat their concoctions with great gusto, to the disgust of nearby adults.

"Sunny Sides Add Up" even has her making spider milk pudding and feeding it to Omar, who finds that it tastes good up until he's told exactly what he's eating, whereupon he drops the spoon in shock.
** At the end of "Sample of New York", New York Ms. O gives Oswald a canteen of the disgusting all-foods-in-one concoction she made earlier, and he reacts with glee. Directly after that, he and his teammates are shown attempting to consume pretzels and hot dogs on pizzas.

** In ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening'', the Avatar, AKA Robin, absolutely loves bear meat. A male Avatar's Supports with Frederick are centered around helping him develop a taste for bear meat. Chrom also enjoys bear meat, though not quite to the same extent as Robin. Even stranger, in the English version the translators also gave Robin a fondness for ''liver and eel pie'' of all things. However, given that this is [[NightmareFetishist Tharja]] who says this, this may be a joke.

** In ''VideoGame/FireEmblemThreeHouses'', you can choose to have a meal with different characters when exploring the monastery and everyone has their favourite meals. However, [[TheEeyore Hapi]] is the ''only'' character who likes "Small Fish Skewers", which is noted to have an unpleasant, muddy aftertaste and as such as a very unpopular dish.
