* ''Manga/KomiCantCommunicate'': Yamai has a ''serious'' crush on Komi, and wants nothing more than to be her friend (and lover). While becoming her lover was never an option, Komi ''is'' actively trying to make as many friends as she can, and is completely willing to befriend Yamai. The problem is that Yamai's obsession with Komi goes to {{Yandere}} levels; she goes to such extreme lengths to try to be close to Komi and have her to herself (to the point of ''kidnapping'' Komi's actual best friend) that Komi is extremely wary of her. In essence, Yamai's efforts to get closer to Komi and monopolize her friendship are the exact reasons why she never has a shot at actually becoming a close friend.

** Frieza wiped out all the Saiyans because he was afraid that he will be beaten by a Super Saiyan. He was defeated by Goku, and ultimately killed by Future Trunks, both who are Super Saiyans. The true irony in the former case is that it was Frieza's own actions, killing Krillin and Vegeta, nearly killing Piccolo, and threatening to kill Gohan drove Goku into the Super Saiyan state. In essence, if Frieza hadn't been stupid enough to twist the knife, he probably wouldn't have had to deal with the thing he was most afraid of.
** The ''[[Anime/DragonBallEpisodeOfBardock Episode of Bardock]]'' special reveals that Bardock was sent back to the past and became the Legendary Super Saiyan. Meaning that ''Frieza'' was responsible for creating the very legend upon which he destroyed the Saiyan race for, and eventually his own death.
** In ''Dragon Ball Minus'' it is revealed that Frieza recalled all the Saiyans to their home planet so he could kill them all at once. This clued Bardock in that something was wrong and sent Goku into space to space. If Frieza hadn't decided to give the order, Goku would have never left Vegeta.

* ''Manga/The100GirlfriendsWhoReallyReallyReallyReallyReallyLoveYou'':
** Chapter 118 features Miss Naddy, an America-obsessed inversion of the OccidentalOtaku, in trouble with a senior teacher because her way of speaking, a constant smattering of GratuitousEnglish and/or Spanish, makes her incomprehensible to the students she's supposed to be teaching classical Japanese. To test the harem's claim that they can understand Naddy just fine, the teacher giving the warning has the harem translate a lesson Naddy gives into proper Japanese. Everyone manages it except Yaku, who is well known to be incapable of understanding Naddy, who instead writes a letter declaring how much she values Naddy's friendship and requesting the senior teacher forgive Naddy her quirks. The letter brings Naddy herself to tears and makes the teacher rescind the warning. The irony of the situation becomes clear when everyone else sees the letter and the traditional calligraphy it's written in is illegible to everyone except Naddy, who grew up around similar writing. Uto posits the senior teacher rescinded her warning to Miss Naddy, given based on the belief students couldn't understand her, rather than admit she couldn't read Yaku's handwriting.
