Ethan Cutkosky appears in the episode "Parent Traps and Heart Attacks", while Creator/WilliamHMacy guest stars in "Two More Years And A Stolen Rose". The Macy episode [[LampshadeHanging lampshades it]] when Macy's and Kenney's characters meet, as the latter immediately asks him if [[HaveWeMet she knows him from somewhere]].

* ''Series/TheConners'' has Creator/WilliamHMacy guest star in "Two More Years And A Stolen Rose". He previously starred in ''Series/{{Shameless}}'' with ''Conners'' regular Creator/EmmaKenney. Though the two don't actually interact until the final scene of the episode, their connection is [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] when Kenney immediately asks him if [[HaveWeMet she knows him from somewhere]].

** ''Franchise/{{DCAU}}'': Creator/MarkHamill, Creator/ClancyBrown (Wade Eilling), Creator/MichaelJaiWhite (Bronze Tiger), Creator/MorenaBaccarin, and Creator/MichaelIronside (Lewis Snart).

** They were unabashed fans of ''Creator/JossWhedon'', so not only did they cast Creator/AlysonHannigan as one of the stars, but brought in her Buffy castmate (and husband) Creator/AlexisDenisof plays Sandy Rivers. Other ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' co-stars who also appeared on the show include Creator/SethGreen, Creator/TomLenk, and Creator/DannyStrong, the latter who guested as the minister at Marvin Eriksen's funeral. * Creator/CharlieSheen loves to do this in his shows: in ''Series/TwoAndAHalfMen'' a long time friend of Charlie's is introduced at the start of an episode. One close enough that Charlie refers to him as ''the brother I never had.'' The actor portraying said friend? Creator/EmilioEstevez, real-life brother to Charlie. A second example also exists when the character Rose introduces her father, portrayed by Creator/MartinSheen.
** This happens again in his new show, ''Series/AngerManagement''. Charlie has an estranged father, a character once more played by none other than... Creator/MartinSheen.

* The secretary [[spoiler: who turns out to have the jade pin]] in the ''Series/{{Sherlock}}'' episode "[[Recap/SherlockS01E02TheBlindBanker The Blind Banker]]" is Olivia Poulet, former girlfriend of Creator/BenedictCumberbatch, who plays Sherlock.
