* During the Summer event every so often there's a dance party. Since so many players play it for marks, its not uncommon to see IRL couples dancing together at the event, regardless of race, gender, or species. Daww.
* One of the patrol missions in the Delta Quadrant introduces Captain Felczer of the ''Avenger''-class U.S.S. ''Avenger''. It's former Community Manager Brandon "[=BranFlakes=]" Felczer, whom the forums just ''loved''.
** There's several meta aspects to this cameo that takes this straight up to saccharine levels of heartwarming.
*** First, the cameo had been planned long in advanced and the Avenger was going to serve as a recurring crew with Brandon at the lead (some cut dialogue indicates a PVE mission involving Brandon was planned), but when Brandon quit PWE, that had to be scrapped, but the team couldn't bear to cut him out entirely.
*** Second, fans who know the situation that lead to Brandon quitting (namely the looming death of his Father-in-Law, which occurred days after his wedding, and the birth of his nephew) forced him to give up, what he calls his dream job.
*** Third, even if you don't like Brandon, there is a SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome in his cameo: if Captain Felczer is in canon the same as his real life counterpart, it still makes him Trek's first openly gay captain.
* In "What's Left Behind," seeing that even Sela has a heart, mourning the death and conversion in Elachi of her crew and even regretting what she did in ''Legacy of Romulus'' by working with the Iconians, just proves that EverybodyHasStandards.
* When news of Creator/LeonardNimoy's passing came to light, players shuffled all the way to Vulcan to pay their respects. KDF members and Rom-KDF players who couldn't go there hung around the area in Sector Space. Thankfully, Cryptic will put in a memorial somewhere for the man.
** They went far and beyond that - there will be statues on Vulcan and New Romulus of Spock, each bearing a famous phrase of Spock's ("Live Long and Prosper" and "The Needs of the Many outweigh The Needs of the Few", respectively) at each site respectively and the three main hubworlds will bear a memorial plaque bearing the names of various people who made ''Star Trek'' what it is today.
*** Particularly heartwarming is the monument on New Romulus. It features the Vulcan IDIC joined together with the wings of the Romulan Raptor, signifying that, at least in some small way, Spock's dream of unification between Vulcans and Romulans has been realised.
** Because of the outpouring of sadness and affection following Nimoy's death, there are now memorials on Earth Spacedock, Qo'noS, and New Romulus Command for all those who have contributed to Star Trek and have since died. The names of Gene Roddenberry and actors who played major characters are inscribed on the memorial, and the names of everyone else are listed inside the memorial. They even redesigned the memorial recently (late 2019) to make sure they could fit the names appropriately.
* In the Narendra system, you can find the USS ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sally_Ride Sally Ride]]''. Hailing her, you can get an Admiralty card to use the ship in your Admiralty missions. A touching tribute to real life space exploration, which ''Star Trek'' has always been very involved with.
** The fact the U.S.S. Sally Ride is an [[AscendedFanon approved]] ShoutOut to [[{{WebVideo/ShieldOfTomorrow}} Shield of Tomorrow]] complete with the character of T'Lan now as the Captain as seen in its series finale.

He's telling his fellow Klingons a story about courage...specifically the events of the [=DS9=] episode "[[Recap/StarTrekDeepSpaceNineS05E23BlazeOfGlory Blaze of Glory]]", when Cadet Nog stood up to him and two other Klingons on the Promenade.
-->'''Martok:''' And then he said "Either move, or I'm going to have to place you under arrest!" Hah! A Ferengi Starfleet cadet, telling three Klingon warriors to move! That boy had more courage than ''ten'' of these nuchpu' surrounding J'mpok! Remember this: courage comes in all sizes, and shapes.

** An additional layer crossed with CMOA if you're Klingon-aligned. Not only does this imply that someone on your ship had to go to the High Council and make a case for getting access to those ships, ''the High Council actually does it''. They move an insane amount of firepower halfway across the galaxy...to save a single captured Romulan. Because you swore an oath of fealty, and they intend to honor their half of that obligation.
