* There are some random events where someone will get robbed any you can choose to kill the robber and [[VideogameCrueltyPotential take what he stole for yourself]] or you can [[VideogameCaringPotential give it back to the person who was just robbed.]] Needless to say, the latter option is very heartwarming, indeed.

Meta moment and This Troper.

* This game gives you every opportunity to do things you could never possibly get away with in real life, which is the primary reason games like this are so controversial. But when you can have Franklin take Chop to the beach and just play fetch with him for a while (which is what this troper just did as of this writing), it offers one a sense of... peace and normalcy. It's a very literal PetTheDog moment.

* [[TakeTheThirdOption Option C]]. Instead of killing Michael or Trevor, Franklin decides to unite with the two against everyone who wronged them throughout the game. This results in the trio, with help from Lamar, taking on Merryweather in a massive assault before going after Steve Haines, Stretch and Mr. Cheng all at once. This ends with Trevor kidnapping Devin and the trio meeting at a cliffside with Devin still in the truck of a car, and they push him off the side of the cliff, ending the game.

Added DiffLines:

** After agreeing they all need to kill their worst enemies to avoid being hunted down in the future, Franklin is about to take down Stretch after Lester tracks him down, but Michael stops him so he can deal with him himself since Stretch doesn't know who Michael is, which gives him the element of surprise and to avoid putting Franklin or Lamar in more trouble.

*** Initially, [[DeadpanSnarker Michael]] treats Trevor's relationship like a bit of a {{Jerkass}}, claiming that it was idiotic for him to risk having Martin Madrazzo's Cartel hunting them both down for kidnapping his wife, and believed Patricia's affections were pure StockholmSyndrome. Transferred all moments related to online to the GTA Online page.

* Lamar Down really establishes how the three protagonists are TrueCompanions in spite of their ups and downs. Despite Michael and Trevor's relationship having soured greatly by this point in the story, what do they do when Lester calls them and says Franklin needs help? They both drop what they're doing and immediately drive to the rendezvous without any hesitation. They trade barbs with each other but notably neither of them goes as far as putting the rescue mission in jeopardy.

[[AC:Online]]
* The Online game can have many meta heartwarming moments. From the old time player who has already bought everything giving away his cut of the Heist to the new player because the new player needs it more than him and he just wants to chill out with people, to random people deciding out of the blue to escort your cargo sales against [[{{Griefer}} Griefers]] and giving you close air support, to people giving random limo rides to complete strangers, there are many plain [[NiceGuy Nice Guys]] playing GTA Online.
* A minor example, but the Online Protagonists hugging each other at the end of ''Doomsday Heist'' Act III's finale.
* Christmas time in Los Santos can be strangely heartwarming in that, even in a crime-ridden town, the Holidays can still be appreciated and celebrated by even the hardest of killers. Anywhere you go in your businesses, there are Christmas decorations and a tree.
** Even in the Diamond Casino Christmas is acknowledged with upside-down diamond-shaped trees, and the background is raining both diamonds and snowflakes.
* Though Vincent gets fired in the end of the ''Diamond and Casino Resort'' plot, it's still nice to see Thornton allow everyone else to keep their jobs and finally allow Tom Connors to pop open a bottle of Champagne.
* The Diamond Casino Heist has a few of these, and much needed ones after the bitterness of the previous plotline related to it.
** Even though Vincent got fired at the end of the first Casino arc, [[BelatedHappyEnding it's revealed he immediately got hired afterwards due to his credentials at the casino]], and he opts to help the player in robbing it indirectly as [[TheDogBitesBack revenge against the Duggans for risking his life previously only to fire him in the end]].
** After an entire arc of what seemed to be a one-sided romance, Lester and Georgina Cheng share a long kiss from the top of a building infront of the Diamond Casino right after successfully robbing it.
* The fact that Patricia Madrazo [[ThrowTheDogABone is finally being shown some sort of gratitude by someone other than Trevor]] in the ''Cayo Perico Heist''. She's seen having a good time in the Music Locker and having fun with other patrons, and is shown to be loved by the guests both at the Music locker and at the after-party when the online protagonist (or protagonists) rob El Rubio successfully for the first time.
** It should also be noted that when Miguel becomes distraught over being unable to impress his father, Patricia thanks the protagonists on her son's behalf.
* ''The Contract'' update shows in front of Frankin's house a car that belongs to Tanisha, along with a plaque in front of his house with "The Clintons" engraved on it. Not only that, Children's toys and a slide can be found in his backyard, and he explicitly mentions having kids in a conversation with Lamar. At some point, Tanisha may have ended her relationship with her jerkass doctor, got back with Franklin and [[HappilyMarried founded a family]].
** The update also implies that, [[https://youtu.be/rt6cf55BniQ if Franklin's line is any indication]], Michael is still alive and now has gone legit with becoming a movie producer just like he wanted eight years ago.
** The ending call has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SMuHAG1nBM Franklin calling you saying how good it was helping Dre]], and ends with him calling you the [[NWordPrivileges n-word as a sign of respect and friendship.]] It's both hilarious and heartwarming.
* ''The Contract'' has a rescue mission that involves Franklin sending the protagonist to rescue a CrusadingLawyer, and he reveals in the process that he has lawyers on the books that deal with human rights and corporate corruptions. Want to [[CriminalCravesLegitimacy feel like the good guy for once]] or at the very least, [[PunchClockHero get paid without feeling like the bad guy]]? Essentially this update allows that to be the case.
* The ending of the Short Trip mission "OG Kush" sees Lamar taking the opportunity [[ItMakesSenseInContext to crash his and Franklin's currently burning literal weed van into a Tequi-La-La to attract potential customers there]]. ''[[EarnYourHappyEnding And it worked.]]'' Lamar was clearly overwhelmed with joy (even giving Franklin a noogie at one point) seeing that his business is finally going off on a [[AccidentalPun high note]] despite all the struggle he and Franklin had to endure against the Vagos for the entire mission string.
* For Nightclub owners, the Criminal Enterprises update now allows them to take passed-out [=VIPs=] home or to the hospital if they're bad enough in condition. It's nice to know that despite being a hardened criminal, [[PetTheDog the player still has the ability to look after an everyday person]]...though, in the case of passed-out oil tycoon associates, [[PragmaticVillainy it's probably just not to get on their bad side]].
