** Also, Marty's reaction. It's also a Crowning Moment of Awesome, since it demonstrates his CharacterDevelopment and triumph over his BerserkButton, but it's just really funny how he incredulously shouts "He's an ''asshole''! I don't care what ''he'' thinks!" like he's literally just figured this out and can't believe how obvious it is in hindsight.

Marty decides not to use a gun against Buford and drops it on the ground - but when he IS shot, it turns out that he's [[BulletproofVest wearing a stove door under his poncho]] (a ShoutOut to ''Film/AFistfulOfDollars'' [[note]]which received a nice bit of {{Foreshadowing}} in ''Part II'', as Biff had been watching it in the alternate 1985![[/note]]) - as Buford finds out the hard way when he tries to punch Marty in the stomach. Marty then takes it off and gives him a good whack in the face with it.
