* Carlos always appears as the most tech savvy of the group. Most likely because his mother is the closest to a Disney villain who lived in a present-day setting.
** Therefore, why does modern technology exist if settings where the Disney Heroes and Villains originated from lacked it? Because Auradon combines every world and takes every aspect of each world, including Cruella's, which HAS modern technology.
** Imports from [[WesternAnimation/BigHero6 San Fransokyo]], perhaps?

* Even if Uma hadn't been tricked with a 3d printed version of the wand, who's to say that the real deal would have worked within the anti-magic barrier? Not only would Uma send Ben (and likely his rescuers) to his death believing she had been tricked, but she would have completely ruined her chance at freedom, and by extension, many other Isle of the Lost inhabitants.

* Um, there is something that kinda bugs me in the newest book: They mention the son of Hades (named Hadie...[[SarcasmMode real original.]]). But...here's a question with this. Adding to the FridgeHorror above, but um...how did the Fairy Godmother find a way to put HADES into the Isle of the Lost? Or really ANY of the villains who are a slight grade above Maleficient in pure magic when you think about it.
** Two possible ways: Zeus and the other "good" gods helped imprison him, OR Hades willingly send his son there, for whatever reason, but is not trapped himself there.
** Alternately, if Hadie is anything like his cousin Hercules, he'll have grown up among mortals and could've committed acts that got him sent there for his ''own'' crimes, not for who his Dad is.

* How come Jay doesn't show any, well...genie-like powers. When Jafar died in ReturnOfJafar, he was a genie still. He didn't die a human so I doubt he was suddenly a human again. Unless they found another genie to de-genify Jafar, I am doubting greatly that Jay isn't half-Djinn.

* The DancePartyEnding, with the Auradon and Villain Kids kicking up spray in a few inches of water, isn't just a unique twist on the usual Disney choreography-routine: it's a CallBack to [[spoiler: Mal's opening daydream-sequence, in which she imagined the [=VKs=] enchanting all her Auradon classmates so they'd forget about rules and have some trouble-making fun]]. Since they're drenched already, and with Mal and Ben already setting the carefree mood by breaking out of their "pretty princess" and "respectable king" public personas, all the folks who would normally act somewhat stifled even at a school dance get to cut loose, shake off all formal inhibitions, splash around like lunatics and '''party''' ... which, far more than actual evil-doing, is what Mal'd ''really'' been longing to see them do, all along.

* Maleficent had enough magic while on the Isle to set up a spell that enables her to ''possess her daughter'' and turn her evil.

* This film shows that even the "[[{{DesignatedHero}} heroic]]" characters have the potential to [[{{FaceHeelTurn}} fall to the Dark Side]]. And [[{{EvilIsHammy}} Audrey]] [[{{EvilFeelsGood}} is clearly]] [[{{DrunkOnTheDarkSide}} enjoying every minute of it]]. Also, it is established that the Fairy Godmother is (presumably) capable of [[{{BroughtDownToNormal}} depowering]] even the [[{{PhysicalGod}} likes of]] [[{{WesternAnimation/Hercules}} Hades]]. [[{{YouCanPanicNow}} Let's hope she doesn't have]] [[{{TakeOverTheWorld}} too much ambition...]]

* Mal's primary color scheme makes sense when you consider that purple is the color associated with royalty and with mysticism - it shows that she's a magic-user. The Fridge Brilliance kicks in when you realize that this also symbolizes Malificent's standing on the Isle; as the ruler of the island, Mal is by definition the ''Crown Princess'' and the only one who would wear royal colors to denote her status.

* They take a moment in the film to reveal that Belle and the Beast married when he was 28. The reason that they might take the time to establish that fact is, due to combining to lines in [[WesternAnimation/BeautyAndTheBeast their movie]] ("cursed until his 21st birthday" and "ten years"), fans on this very site have worried that the enchantress cursed an eleven year old. By establishing that Belle and Beast got together when he was 28 instead of 21, it removes that issue and changes it to him being cursed at 18.
** Unfortunately, it doesn't. The prequel book reveals that the eldest child in Auradon (which Beast is King of) becomes King at 16 - which is why Ben is being crowned. Since Beast was just a Prince in the Disney Movie, then he must have been ''under sixteen'' when the Enchantress cursed him in the first place.
*** For all we know, he could've had an older brother who reigned for a while and then died without an heir, at which point Beast was crowned King.
** The wording is somewhat ambiguous, as it claims is an "ancient tradition", but it also says that the country was founded 20 years ago (It never claims that "Auradon" is the name of Beast's country, and following the "America" parallel, The United States of Auradon might be in the continent of Auradon).
*** Actually, it doesn't. It says that Beast UNITED the Kingdoms into "The United States of Auradon"; they're evidently all still separate as Chad, Audrey, etc, are all Princesses of their ''own'' kingdoms and it's just like America -- all separate, but united under one banner -- which means that, in Beast's particular Kingdom, the whole "become King at 16" thing ''could'' be an ancient tradition, which then goes back to the whole "The Enchantress cursed someone under the age of sixteen, probably going through hormonal stages and teenage angst, etc, for turning her away!"

* Belle mentions that the Beast married her when he was twenty eight; she's 16 in the film and, assuming he ''was'' 11 when cursed it means the curse broke when he was 21 (as per the rules of it!). This also means though, that Belle is ''not'' suffering from Stockholm Syndrome and she had ''SEVEN YEARS OF FREEDOM'' for she and Beast to make sure they were compatible, no imprisonment, no curse, nothing -- just the two of them making sure that marriage would work for them.

* Performing "Be Our Guest" at Family Day makes a lot of sense, seeing as the story of WesternAnimation/BeautyAndTheBeast would be a part of the cultural history in Auradon, like how The Beatles are a part of our world's cultural history.
** More than that: since Auradon's founding royal couple are Belle and the Beast, a lot of the royal servants who perform that song for ''Descendents'' are probably the '''same''' servants who sang it in their movie ... they're just singing it ''as humans'' now, not teapots and candlesticks.

* As these are the children of famous animated Disney characters, that means all those characters had sex at some point. While that's not too bad for most of the characters, one of them is the son of ''Dopey''. Just when you got over ''[[WesternAnimation/GoofTroop Goofy]]'' having had sex...
** What's so bad about a dwarf having sex?
*** The issue isn't that he's a dwarf, it's Dopey's [[QuestionableConsent mental capabilities at the time when he would have had to have sex.]] Think about how he acted in [[WesternAnimation/SnowWhiteAndTheSevenDwarfs Snow White. ]]
*** Muted people can find other ways to express consent.
*** Dopey didn't have a beard in ''Snow White'', and his features are very childish. He acted that way because he was a ''kid'', not because he was mentally challenged; presumably he grew up a lot before fathering Doug.
** Why was Goofy used as a reference? Sure, [[TooDumbToLive he already gave people reason to question his intelligence]] but to question his consent?
*** The concern isn't so much about consent as it is the image of what they would look and act like during sex getting into peoples' heads. There's a minor meme going around on tumblr about the implications of Goofy having a biological son, so that's where that came from.
*** The thing that concerns me -- who in their right mind (though given some of the villains...), would ''willingly' sleep with Frollo?
*** If Tumblr is something to go by, Frollo may even have an harem.

* The establishing that none of the villain kids know what familial love feels like. This is not helped by one of Carlos's reasons for Auradon Prep not being so bad is that his mom uses him as ''a slave'' and doesn't even provide him with a bed, forcing him to sleep on the floor in a pile of furs; Carlos is ''14''. [[TheWoobie Poor kid...]]

* With how neglected all the main kids are by their villainous parents, CAN YOU IMAGINE IF FROLLO HAD A SON OR DAUGHTER???
** Well... according to the novel, he does have a daughter Claudine. (Same with Mother Gothel; she also has a daughter). In that case, an appearance from either may prove to be the darkest material ever touched upon in a DCOM. If one considers how the kids were treated by their parents in the book, one can only begin to think about how Frollo treats [[DudeNotFunny his own]] [[OhCrap daughter]]!

*** Only what's actually in the movie counts, though, and in this case it's UnfortunateImplications.

** Though to be fair, that could end up biting her in the backend. After all, what was it that got her mom to get hexed in the first place again?

* Why does the "act like dogs" effect not happen to Carlos? Because his mother comes from a movie where dogs could talk to one another! He ''is'' acting like a dog, but specifically an IntellectualAnimal dog, not a mundane one. Any talking-dog-specific behaviors like tail-wagging can't be performed with his still-human body, so there's no discernible difference between Carlos the human and Carlos the human-level-intellect dog.

* Evie's night glow fashion was made by applying a material (paint?) on normal clothes, and that material, as asked by Lonnie and agreed by Evie herself, was made from nuclear waste. One of the ways of making night glow paint was mixing a weak radioisotope with a phosphor, using the radioactive decay to power the fluorescence of the phosphor. One of the possible sources of such weak radioisotopes is nuclear waste.
** Then it comes to the fridge horror territory: such paint would be usually toxic and definitely carcinogenic if stuck on the skin. So if Lonnie is not protected by the healing factors in Auradon she is going to be [[Literature/TheFaultInOurStars Hazel Grace]] in a few years.
*** Evie made Mendeleev's cupcakes before. Maybe she knows how to make sure that the radioisotopes are made into a form that can be washed off easily.

* Maleficent had enough magic while on the Isle to set up a spell that enables her to ''possess her daughter'' and she quickly begins to ''destroy'' Mal's new life in Auradon.

* Why are Evie's cookies usually made of not-digestible or even poisonous materials? Well, since we know [[GreenEyedMonster how her mother reacted when there was a person more beautiful than herself]] it's more than possible that the Evil Queen realized that her daughter would become beautiful with time and given that her parenting mostly centers around [[ItsAllAboutMe Evie continuing to live out the same goals as her]], knowing that kids like cookies, taught her how to make them in the hopes that Evie could use them on others.

* A lot of viewers have complained about the BlackAndWhiteInsanity of having Cruella De Vil imprisoned on the Isle along with the likes of the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Maleficent, when all Cruella did was steal puppies. If you're familiar with the film, you'll know that she did more than that: she stole ''hundreds'' of baby dogs, and planned to have them brutally killed and skinned for their coats; that's not just theft, that's ''animal cruelty''. (Given the size of her fur collection, it's almost a guarantee that she had other animals killed for the same reason, too.) Furthermore, it's hinted that in Auradon, at least some animals are recognized as being sapient as well as sentient; when you take this into consideration, Cruella's status as one of the worst villains in history makes a ''lot'' more sense.

* Carlos's fear of dogs may not just be due to his mother's indoctrination: if there ''are'' any dogs on the Isle, they're probably nasty ones descended from the likes of Sikes's Dobermans from ''Disney/OliverAndCompany''.

* Jay explains one thing the Isle does better than Auradon is that they don’t care about gender if your skills are good, in order to argue why Lonnie should be allowed to join the fencing team whose rules state can only be made of men. What makes this statement even better is that the villain of [[Disney/{{Mulan}} the movie]] of Lonnie’s origin is a good example of such. When Mulan revealed to Shan Yu that she was the one that caused the avalanche killing nearly his whole army, unlike even her own fellow male soldiers who considered her actions dishonorable and no longer credible after finding out she was a woman, Shan Yu only saw her as “the soldier from the mountains” who “took away his victory” and a powerful threat standing in his way.

* Resurrecting villains just to send them into exile might seem to be cruel and serve no purpose until we remember that the dead won't necessarily stay dead. Jafar himself became an example of this in [[WesternAnimation/{{Hercules}} "Hercules and the Arabian Night"]].

** Although considering all magical artefacts are locked up in the museum, the heroes would have a hard time stopping the villains. After all, if Audrey could stop Fairy Godmother, what's to stop Madam Mim from doing the same thing. Not to mention if Yzma recreates the potion that make Hercules mortal. * It makes perfect sense for Evie and Dizzy to be so close; due to their specific Isle upbringings, they're both closer to the heroines of their tales than they are to the villains they're related to.

* Mals dream sequence involves using apples to make people evil. This more closely resembles the forbidden fruit from the bible than the poison apple from snow white. Also, the apples are likely drugged or have some fairy tale equivalent of drugs on them. So Mal is fantasizing about satanic indoctrination and drugging the whole school.
