* OutsideContextProblem: King Cassander doesn't believe in the gods, thinking that they are just metaphors and Hyperion's campaign is basically just rallying his forces to make a dramatic impression as no man would ''want'' war on this scale. This leads to him underestimating the scale of his enemy's ambition until it's too late and the situation has escalated to open warfare, where it might have been possible to end it earlier if Cassander had allowed Theseus to act.

** The prison that they are held in, is even more nightmarish. Known as the Tomb of Tartarus, the prison is deceptive in its appearance. It's much bigger on the inside that it is on the outside, which is why there were additional Titans bursting and crawling out from inside of it after the first set of Titans got out and were being slaughtered.

** To be fair, the concept of "immortality" is also touched on as either living on through your descendents, or as a legend. That said, the only things that actually kill either gods or titans are other gods or titans; a human would have no chance of killing a god unless the god stood stock still AND the human had a divine weapon.
