* VisitByDivorcedDad: A rare gender-swapped variant. Vicki's father has majority custody, with her mother having a few weekends. The plot begins when Vicki leaves his stunning home to go to her mother's much smaller, cheaper house in the suburbs.
* WhatDoesSheSeeInHim: Evelyn isn't entirely stable, but she can do a lot better than an abusive, manipulative, murderous killer-rapist pedophile. It's implied that he groomed her after retaliating against her abusive ex, which is why she's latched onto him.
