The first film that Creator/JohnWoo made in Hollywood after leaving Hong Kong, ''Hard Target'' (1993) starts off with a homeless man fleeing attackers on motorcycles, before being shot down just before he escapes across a river. Cut to three weeks later, when Natasha Binder (played by Yancy Butler) is looking for her father deep in the heart of New Orleans. Creator/JeanClaudeVanDamme... sorry, "Chance" Boudreaux, saves her from a gang. Natasha, after being told that the police won't be able to find her father, hires Chance to protect her as she investigates. Soon, the pair find out about a secret "hunting" ring, led by BigBad Emil Fouchon (Creator/LanceHenriksen) and ProfessionalKiller Pik Van Cleaf (Creator/ArnoldVosloo) and must turn the tables on the hunters.

Moving cut What An Idiot entries that lacked the proper formatting here.

Added DiffLines:

* IdiotBall:
** Under pressure, most people would probably throw away a grenade instead of trying to unscrew it and remove the fuse.
** Though he has just received a money belt filled with $10,000, the prey in one hunt doesn't consider ''paying'' one of the many bystanders for help.
** The victim in the beginning of the movie might have made it, had he taken the easier route of falling into the water and swimming. In the case of the victims, though, it should be noted that both men by those times were badly injured, scared out of their minds, and not thinking straight.

* VillainousValor: Credit where it's due, Van Cleaf and Fouchon are not cowards. They are perfectly willing to fight against Chance with their men and Fouchon, despite being a skinny middle aged man, doesn't go down easy when up against a former Marine and Silver Star recipient who is decades younger and a martial arts expert.

* ThrowItIn: The bit where Fouchon's BaddassLongcoat catches fire and he strips it off while cursing Boudreaux was not scripted. A pyrotechnic being used in one of the stunts accidentally set the coat on fire, and Creator/LanceHenriksen remained in character while stripping it off and throwing it away. John Woo was so impressed with the scene that he left it in the film.
