The ''[[http://custombionicle.wikia.com/wiki/Xaterex_Multiverse_Storyline Xaterex Multiverse Storyline]]'' (XMS) is a lengthy seven-book series of Toys/{{Bionicle}} fanfic novels written by [[http://custombionicle.wikia.com/wiki/User:Varkanax39 Varkanax39]], set in the [[AlternateUniverse alternate Xaterex multiverse]]. Originally written on the [[http://custombionicle.wikia.com/wiki/MainPage Custom BIONICLE Wiki]], the Xaterex storyline currently spans seven novels (the first of which is currently being reworked to fit with canon more closely) and several short stories in the same setting. The storyline is defined by its fairly complicated plot, its LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters, and its [[DarkerAndEdgier rather darker tone]] than BIONICLE {{canon}}. While the original volume, The Eternal Game, written over three years ago, was based heavily off first Literature/BattleRoyale and then later Literature/TheHungerGames, the series takes off in a completely new direction after the end of the third book, ''The Shadows Coil.''
