** In 2 other stories Sam and Sharon are revealed to secretly be HYDRA agents. In Sam's story, during Winter Soldier, he murders Steve and Natasha, but the day is still saved. In Sharon's it's revealed that her actions during Civil War were to further HYDRA's efforts to control the Avengers. It's implied either she is executed or commits suicide for her failure. In both stories case the purpose was to show the stupidity in trusting strangers over others whom they had worked with for years.

This or these examples of Surprisingly Realistic Outcome seem to violate at least one of these rules, which disqualifies them: No character reactions (characters get angry, don't forgive, don't change their personality instantly, etc.); Too fantastical (depends on the properties of magic, powers, sci-fi tech, monsters, etc.); Not surprising (a character was warned about the outcome, it's used to provide Karma or An Aesop, or it simply follows normal conventions for this genre or medium); Plot happens (the example only describes an event, but not why audiences would expect a different, unrealistic outcome); Not an outcome (a character just explains why something wouldn't work as expected, or something is just an innate aspect of the setting or character that has a logical reason for being present); More of a Deconstruction (the event has major, lasting effects on the plot, make something more realistic, but not completely realistic, or a parody/fanwork applies realistic consequences to the events of a different work); or fits better under a different trope. See the trope's definition for more details. If you believe a removal was a mistake, please bring it up in the cleanup thread.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: A key part of most of the stories.
** An early prompt sees Steve arrested for lying on enlistment forms, with the army noting they'd warned him plenty of times. He's still released after being forced to promise to never try to enlist again though as the army has more important things to be doing and just wanted to impress upon Steve how serious his actions were.
** In prompt 129, Clint is arrested for his numerous murders in the five years after the Snap. As the FBI state, he wasn't arresting criminals or defending himself; Clint was just killing anyone he felt didn't deserve to survive the Snap when his family didn't.
** In prompt 131, Natasha getting violently thrown by Wanda's magic breaks her neck, killing her instantly.
** When Bucky's saved from capture in prompt 146, he's barely able to talk and unable to even stand on his own due to the prolonged torture he underwent. It's implied to take at least a few days of medical treatment before he's able to even hold a conversation again.
** In prompt 148, Scott refuses to believe he's being called by Captain America or confirm he's Ant-man until Sam Wilson picks up the line and gives information only the two of them have. Furthermore, Scott thinks to himself how expensive it'd be for him to fly to first New York and then Germany as he's not exactly rich.
*** Scott's backstory of being a "Modern day Robin Hood" also faced reality in that all the money he redistributed was confiscated and returned back to [=VistaCorp=].
