* AbsurdlySpaciousSewer: There is one infested with [[EverythingsSquishierWithCephalopods Dianogas]] on Sleheyron. Lampshaded by Grein.

* ActionGirl: Grein, Hiriss Moraana, [[SamusIsAGirl R9-C4]] and Dynn Manthis, before and [[DarkActionGirl after]] she joins the Valkoran.
* AffablyEvil: Maesterus. Others like [[FourStarBadass Admiral Marx Gravlek]], Dynn Manthis (when she joins them) and Arcidus also qualify. Subverted somewhat in that (most of) the Valkoran aren't necessarily evil.

* AntiVillain: Most of the Valkoran, especially Maesterus and Dynn Manthis. They aren't interested in ruling the galaxy: they just want the galaxy to have a more efficient government. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, they are also unwitting pawns in the Forceless Collective's plan to take over the galaxy. However, Maesterus seems to be on his way to a full HeelFaceTurn.]]

** BadAssNormal: Admiral Marx Gravlek, Gahmah Raan [[spoiler:[[TheForce (or is he?)]]]], Besh Squad
** BadAssLongCoat: Zolph again. There's also Arcidus.
** [[spoiler:HeartbrokenBadass]]: [[spoiler:Zolph, after Dynn's death.]]
* BadBoss: The Valkoran leaders mostly avert this trope, but Masochus plays this straight if [[spoiler:Sergeant]] Will Helms is to be believed.

* BatmanCanBreatheInSpace: Maesterus. [[spoiler:Whether it's because of his armor (which can already protect him from lava) or Forceless mutations is unknown. It's most likely the latter considering he has exposed flesh (his wings and the spike bones).]]

* BittersweetEnding: [[spoiler: Episode I. The [[KillSat Death Star Forge]] has been destroyed, Belluzub has been killed, Maesterus seems to be on his way to a HeelFaceTurn, and Zolph is to be awarded for his part at Krantisi. However, Zolph is now heartbroken from being forced to kill Dynn Manthis.]]

* BodyHorror: One of the main symptoms of Forceless possession. Aside from the [[RedEyesTakeWarning red eyes]] and sometimes jet black skin, other mutations may include ExtraEyes [[EyesDoNotBelongThere (usually in places they shouldn't be)]], extra body parts (like wings for Maesterus), extra layers of skin, or [[spoiler:rearranging your internal organs so you will be dependent on the Forceless symbiote for survival.]]
** Forceless Archfiend [[MakingASplash Hydrojus]] is also capable of doing this to people since most living creatures are mostly made of water. From what a few Alliance soldiers witness, it isn't pretty.
* BountyHunter: They are a nuisance for Zolph in Chapter 9 of Episode I. Most notable of these is Gahmah Raan.

* BunnyEarsLawyer: Gahmah Raan is an unusually eccentric mercenary that is supposedly prone to Spice-induced hallucinations, but by the end of the arc he debuts in, [[spoiler:he has killed almost all of his competitors, captured Menbar Mun, lured Zolph to Kratzar, and evenly matched him in a duel.]]

* ButtMonkey: [[TheyKilledKennyAgain Private Will Helms]]. Most of his deaths are accidents on the parts of his peers. [[TookALevelInBadass He does get promoted to Sergeant sometime before Episode II though]].
** While not to the same extremes as Helms, Zolph Vaelor also qualifies. The galaxy doesn't seem to respect him enough. On a serious note, let's not even get into both the [[IronButtMonkey physical]] and [[HeroicBSOD psychological]] damage he receives over the course of the story.
* ChargedAttack: Gahmah Raan's pistols have this function, and it can be [[YourHeadAsplode lethal depending on where it is applied.]]

** This is pretty much what Private Helms exists for.

** The Blazing Manta: a [[{{Expy}} Corellian YT-3300]] (basically in the same series as the Millennium Falcon) owned by Grein.
** The Vriknash: Gahmah Raan's starship.
** The Doomsayer: Maesterus's personal flagship and the largest ship in the Valkoran fleet.
** Zolph Vaelor eventually gets his own before Episode II: a modified X-Wing with 6 wings.

The trilogy has just started Episode II. ** This is what happens to those who are eaten by Valkor. They are put in a state between life and death, where they are stripped of their bodies and trapped in a void filled with millions of crystal-ball like eyes. Those eyes are the people he's eaten, the static sound is their feeble attempt at communication and most of them don't understand one another or even realize they are giant disembodied eyes.
* AnIcePerson: In addition to being able to [[MakingASplash liquefy herself]], Grein can also freeze those liquefied body parts into ice blades.

* AntiHero: Zolph Vaelor. He will only threaten or hurt people if they are damaging enough to deserve it (or if peaceful negotiations don't work), whether they are armed or not. [[FatBastard Va'Za the Hutt]] learned this the hard way... twice. However, he doesn't do that enough to be slipping close to the Dark Side.

* ArtificialLimb: Zolph Vaelor gets one ([[MegatonPunch with a charge punch feature]]) after Maesterus cuts off his right arm during a rescue mission on [[LethalLavaLand Kratzar]].

* ArtisticLicensePhysics: Lampshaded in that the laws of physics in that universe are sometimes inconsistent.

* DeconstructionFic: For starters, this trilogy takes place only [[CrapsackWorld a few months]] after the end of NewJediOrder. The main protagonist - Zolph Vaelor, who is also just a little older than the average KidHero - is an AntiHero at worst. The main villains - the Valkoran - are mostly [[WellIntentionedExtremist Well-Intentioned Extremists]] or [[AntiVillain Anti-Villains]] who think the Galactic Alliance will only make the galaxy worse place than it already is and whose [[TheHeavy supposed leader]] is a mostly light-sided Force User who allegedly dresses like a Sith Lord. The true villains of the story - the Forceless Collective - aren't strictly associated with the Dark Side of the Force, but rather, they are what can be described as [[EldritchAbomination dead spots in the Force]], and are arguably just as much of a threat as the Sith, if not more so.
** Also, TheHero has a love interest [[FaceHeelTurn that is working]] [[DatingCatwoman with the main villains.]] [[spoiler: It doesn't end so happily for either [[ShootTheDog Zolph]] [[MercyKill or]] [[DiedInYourArmsTonight Dynn]]. Zolphs ends up suffering a massive amount of [[HeroicBSOD psychological]] [[PsychologicalHorror trauma]] as a result of this.]]
* DefectorFromDecadence: [[spoiler:Grein possibly.]]

* DestinationDefenestration: Zolph Vaelor tries to do this to Arcidus in the prologue of Episode II. [[FakingTheDead It doesn't kill him]].

* DysfunctionJunction: The mental issues of the main characters become prevalent enought in Episode II that Gahmah Raan lampshades it. Ironically, he himself [[HypocriticalHumor also contributes to the junction with his insanity]].

* FauxAffablyEvil: Some of the more characterized Forceless and Archfiends can come off like this, especially Belluzub.
** Gestroma.

* ForTheEvulz: Pretty much Belluzub's main motivation for everything he does.

* PsychopathicManchild: R9-C4 is a non-villainous example. Through her beeping that can be interpreted as faux mathematical equations, she will sometimes make a mischievous giggle out of them when she's about to cause some mayhem. Zolph also has to make sure she won't kill everyone. She also has a habit giving people descriptively derogatory names upon meeting them for the first time. She's more of a thrill-seeker than anything, but some of her ideas of fun include killing people in [[CruelAndUnusualDeath creatively sadistic]] ways.

* PurpleEyes: Grein, of the [[MonochromaticEyes monochromatic]] variety, and this is one of her key physical traits. She is an anomaly in that her species, the Chiss, usually have red eyes. The in-universe reason for this trait has yet to be revealed. Out of universe, this was specifically to avert the RedEyesTakeWarning trope since Forceless have red eyes already (and that the [[TheThrawnTrilogy most]] [[VideoGame/StarWarsTheOldRepublic notable]] of Chiss have been portrayed as villainous or working with villains).

* SmugSnake: Va'Za the Hutt and Girdretto.
** Some of the bounty hunters in Chapter 9 of Episode I qualify, especially the [[http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Skakoan Skakoan]], Bom Pintor. He didn't think any of the competing hunters would dare [[ExplosiveDecompression shoot him]] [[MadeOfExplodium lest they vaporize Zolph in the process]]. Gahmah Raan certainly did, and Zolph just contained the explosion. Oh, and to add insult to injury, Episode II confirmed him to be a former Skakoan Commando.

** Neur can be like if her brain stops working properly.

* OneOfUs: As stated in the summary, Matt does indeed use TvTropes. In fact, he provides most of the examples on this page (and sometimes puts in information previously unknown).

** Surprisingly among the Forceless Collective (and for someone who was part of it since birth), Fafniros is the only known Archfiend with a code of honor.

** Those who are possessed by Forceless are consciously aware of what their bodies are being used for and there is nothing they can do about it. [[spoiler:The only ones who avoid this trope are those who serve the Collective willingly and those who have developed an immunity to their possession.]]

* ArtisticLicenseBiology: This line from [[spoiler: Sergeant]] [[TheChewToy Helms]] when being attacked by [[KillerRabbit Seefor]] says it all.

* AssholeVictim: [[spoiler:Toydarian crimelord Girdretto gets possessed by a Forceless symbiote during the invasion of Sleheyron. [[ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice He is killed by Grein]] shortly after being possessed. [[DirtyCoward And he was willing to abandon his men once he was alerted to how dangerous they were]].]]

* BerserkButton: Do not threaten or kill anyone Zolph cares about. [[spoiler:For that matter, don't even try to trick him into killing those he cares about. Also, [[RelativeButton don't make any nasty comments about anyone dead who mattered to him]].]]
** [[spoiler:Maesterus]]: [[spoiler:[[PapaWolf Do not threaten the lives of his descendants]], even if they are generations apart. [[HurlItIntoTheSun Belluzub took a one way trip to Krantisi's sun for this]].]]

Even better, ''The Holiday Special'' has an in-universe counterpart as an [[ShowWithinAShow old Imperial propaganda film]]. Another TakeThat towards the special happens when Attichitcuk is described as being not as horrifying as the costumes made him out to be.

** Episode II - Chapter 11 "Deranged": Gahmah Raan gives one towards the FandomRivalry over [[ProudWarriorRaceGuy Mandalorians]] and how some of them [[InsaneTrollLogic believe that]] [[ActualPacifists pacifists]] [[InsaneTrollLogic shouldn't have ever been]] [[WesternAnimation/StarWarsTheCloneWars possible]] in [[PlanetOfHats their history]].

** Episode II - Chapter 7 "The Return": When Zolph mispronounces Kashyyyk as [[TheStarWarsHolidaySpecial "Kazook"]], Hiriss slaps him for it and tells him to do that on planet. Even better, ''The Holiday Special'' has an in-universe counterpart as an [[ShowWithinAShow old Imperial propaganda film]]. Another TakeThat towards the special happens when Attichitcuk is described as being not as horrifying as the costumes made him out to be.

* AndIMustScream: Those who are possessed by Forceless are consciously aware of what their bodies are being used for and there is nothing they can do about it. ** While far from AxCrazy, Gahmah Raan can be violently childish when the people he's talking to ignore him, sometimes (non-fatally) shooting at them or barely missing to get their attention. And that's aside from his general [[CloudCuckoolander eccentricity]]. Still, he's relatively tame compared to most examples of this trope.

* SelfDeprecation: [[FourthWallObserver Gahmah Raan]] is a source of this in the Bounty Hunters arc. First in Episode I: Chapter 9, he compares [[AntiClimaxBoss the lack of an actual fight with Bom Pintor]] [[HypocriticalHumor (although, that was his own fault)]] to there [[TheUnfought not being a fight with Archfiend Cryosmn]] in the previous chapter (something he otherwise shouldn't know about). Then, in Chapter 10, he says it's been three week, while in-universe, it was actually five hours since Zolph encountered him in the last chapter.

* TakeThat: Episode I - Chapter 9 "Hunters": Zolph's experience with most of the [[TooDumbToLive people]] he guards kicking the bucket is one towards [[EscortMission Escort Missions]] in video games.

* Yandere: [[spoiler: Dynn Manthis herself isn't this trope, but the apparition of her that Zolph experiences on Dagobah six months after her death definitely qualifies.]]

* ActionBomb: The Skakoan Commandos are unusually courageous for their species in that not only are they willing to fight for whatever cause despite being at a [[ExplosiveDecompression major]] [[MadeOfExplodium biological disadvantage]] off of their homeworld, they are willing to breach their pressure suits to self-destruct when they deem necessary (or for pulling a TakingYouWithMe ). Their enemies need to be wary of this when disposing of them. Also, they do not take being forced to be suicide bombers very well.

* TheCaligula: [[http://gahmahraan.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d5ftpky According to his profile]], Belluzub was once a warlord, and was just as sadistic as he is working for the Collective. Of course, he still qualifies since he's been referred to as "Lord" by some Valkoran acolytes at one point and is one of [[BigBad Valkor's]] [[TheDragon highest ranking generals.]]

* EldritchAbomination: Forceless, or more specifically, the Black Matter and any creature ([[HumanoidAbomination including the Warriors]]) made solely from it, in that they defy the nature of the living Force. According to Grein, what Force Sensitives feel from them is a perpetual Force Wound (i.e. what Obi-Wan felt when Alderaan was destroyed). In other words, they are basically dead spots in the Force. Some of the creatures they possess - especially some of the Archfiends - [[spoiler:(and those willing to serve)]] may also qualify.

*** Gahmah Raan is like a combination of Boba Fett and [[SelfDemonstrating/Deadpool Deadpool]].

* IdiotHero: While Zolph's usually pretty cunning and intellgent, that doesn't prevent him from occasionally having lapses in his decision-making.

** [[spoiler: Zolph gets in on this in "The Return", where he his inherited Forceless immunity (which develops with every generation) can be used to convert Black Matter into Force energy and temporarily transform him into a creature with incredible power. Unfortunately, if he's feeling strongly emotional when he's channeling this power, he will [[AxCrazy go]] [[SuperPoweredEvilSide berserk]].]]

** Gestroma in Episode II is like this to some of the Valkoran, despite being a mercenary working for them. Most notably during the Battle of Taris, he killed a Tuk'ata Fighter Tank's driver so he could use it for transportation after his Swoop bike was destroyed, and took one of the [[ActionBomb Skakoan Commandos]] aiding them hostage so he could use him as an unwitting suicide bomber later (when the Skakoan Commandos would only do such a thing on their own volition).

* CosmicHorrorStory: It somewhat becomes this once the Forceless Collective enters the scene, although it's closer to LovecraftLite since the heroes don't usually have any problems defeating these things. However, they are still taken very seriously, and it's suggested they've already conguered several galaxies prior.

* ImprovisedWeapon: During the infiltration of the ''Doomsayer'', Besh Squad member, Boltz - a Gand - used his own respiratory mask as an ammonia bomb when it got shot. [[spoiler:Thankfully for him, this wasn't fatal, as he was actually a lungless Gand retaining his anonymity.]]

** R9-C4 is an astromech droid. She's also very violent and can destroy an entire Valkoran fleet when told to. She's even dangerous outside the astromech-socket.

* PsychopathicManchild: R9-C4 is a non-villainous example. Through her beeping that can be interpreted as faux mathematical equations, she will sometimes make a mischievous giggle out of them when she's about to cause some mayhem. ** Gestroma.

** [[spoiler:Zolph's [[ArtificialLimb replacement arm]] has this function too. It is capable of sending Valkoran troopers flying and rendering a disruptor field generator permanently inoperable.]]

* CosmicPlaything: Possibly Will Helms.

* StupidEvil: Belluzub. He doesn't care for pragmatism as long as he gets to make his enemies' deaths painful. Lampshaded by Zolph.

* {{Adorkable}}: Zolph can be like this when he's off-duty if the OC interviews found in Gahmah's Deviantart journal are anything to go by.

* BreakTheCutie: [[spoiler:If you thought losing his parents when he was thirteen wasn't enough for him, Zolph goes through a major case of this when Dynn Manthis is fully possessed by her Forceless arm and forced to kill her. He eventually cools down and gets one last moment with her in peace.]]
** [[spoiler:Dynn Manthis herself arguably qualifies too, despite her AntiVillain status at that point in the story. Especially once her replacement arm takes [[AndIMustScream full possession of her]] and starts exploiting the Force Bond between her and Zolph to torture both of them.]]

** R9-C4. Despite his [[BloodKnight psychotic]] [[HeroicComedicSociopath tendencies]], Zolph keeps him around around because he aids with his starfighter's systems, he can effectively fill in as the pilot when Zolph's on the ground, and Zolph's able to keep him from killing everyone.

** R9-C4. This droid pretty much defines it by ripping out a Valkoran trooper's spinal cord and bludgeoning him with it.

* PsychopathicManchild: R9-C4 is a non-villainous example. Through her beeping that can be interpreted as faux mathematical equations, she will sometimes make a mischievous giggle out of them when she's about to cause some mayhem. Afterwards, he describes it as feeding suggestions [[IdiotBall (regardless of how idiotic)]] and even lampshades [[RefugeInAudacity the more ridiculous things you can get away with doing that]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Grein will typically make Zolph handle Archfiends and other missions on his own, as [[SinkOrSwimMentor she does want him to be strong enough to battle the more dangerous Archfiends on his own]], but [[BigDamnHeroes she will step in if Zolph really does need help]] (or set a back-up plan into motion). She also seems somewhat emotionally detached, a trait stereotypical of the Chiss species, and occasionally warns Zolph about the dangers of emotional attachments. With the revelation of Maesterus being [[LukeIAmYourFather one of Zolph's distant ancestors]], [[DemonicPossession that the deaths of Alec and Veene Vaelor weren't entirely his fault]] and that the Forceless Collective is far worse than he is (especially with them being behind all of it), Zolph seems to be putting this grudge aside.]]

This series started not as a fanfiction, but a series of concept art that began in 2006. It wasn't until early 2012 that Gahmah decided to actually write it as a full-out story. This in-progress trilogy features a main cast made mostly of original characters and concepts. Such characters include - but are not limited to - the protagonist Zolph Vaelor, a Jedi Knight who has put up with the weirder aspects of the universe he lives in; Maesterus - a Force user, one of the Valkoran leaders and most prominent antagonist in Episode I; and the Forceless Collective - a group of bizarre creatures that go against the nature of TheForce and a much bigger threat than the Valkoran. As light-hearted as this series is - especially with aspects like a certain character [[TheyKilledKennyAgain who dies repeatedly]] as a RunningGag, an eccentric bounty hunter, a sadistic astromech droid, and its awareness of the general tropes of fiction and Star Wars universe - it's not afraid to get really dark at times, especially when the Collective gets involved.
