* MultiEthnicName: Ashley's full name is Ashley Tan-Shin O'Leary since her paternal grandfather was Irish. A side-story about an alt-Ashley gave her parent's names as Yuri O'Leary and Sean Wei O'Leary.

** Uber and Leet somehow built a fully functional Franchise/MetalGear (specifically the TX-55 from the original Videogame/MetalGear) and used it (specifically it's [[MeMeticMutation nuclear weapons]]) during an allegedly peaceful demonstration at city Hall while dressed as [[VideoGame/{{Civilization}} Ghandi]]. The following chapter mentions the TX-55's weakness and states that the Poisons helped Uber and Leet do it as a distraction.

* AmbiguousDisorder: According to the Author, Ashley is probably somewhere on the autism spectrum.

* AssholeVictim: [[spoiler: Absolutely no one is shedding tears after Ashley kills Kletus Cassidy and eats his soul]].

* TheStarscream: [[spoiler: Roderick Kingsley/the Hobgoblin manages to get a job for Accord, then takes advantage of his [[SuperOCD neuroses]] to assassinate him and take over his operation, while making it look like someone else pulled it off]].

* EverythingIsBetterWithDinosaurs: Early on, Ashley expresses disappointment that the savage Lands don't exist on Earth Bet and that she'd like to ride a triceratops. The idea of riding Dinosaurs of various types is repeated throughout the story and side stories to the point of Ashley expressing a desire to meet Molly Hayes because she mistakenly thinks that she's the Runaway with the dinosaur.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: A couple of times.
** Early on, Ashley expresses the desire to go to high school with Taylor if she's good enough, implying that she'd use Mister Snuggles enhanced memory and intellect to cheat. Later it's shown that while she did very well in math and science(due to Marvel Earth being much more technologically advanced and that knowledge trickling down) but even with the help she completely flunked everything social studies related. A few weeks isn't enough to learn decades of history, due to how ''different'' Bet's history is from her world (Dracula being real, for example).
** Ashley is a big cape geek, but she can't know ''every'' hero from her Earth. When Klara Prast, having been bonded to the Anti-Venom symbiote and dumped om Earth-Bet by [[spoiler: Contessa]], is brought to the Bay, when Clockblocker asks if Ashley can confirm Klara's statements, she points out to the older hero that the Runaways were a relatively small-scale group on the opposite side of the country from her, so she's not as intimately familiar with them as she is with, say, Spider-Man. She also gets a bit offended by an unintentional implication that all mutants know each other.
** A spiteful rant where you overpower and deconstruct the flaws of someone, especially a bully or corrupt authority figure, can be cathartic, especially if you're already stressed out, but it's likely to frighten bystanders and isn't always the appropriate way of handling things.
** [[spoiler: Even if you manage to get through to someone, years of Brainwashing aren't gonna come undone after a conversation and an offer of friendship.]]
** [[spoiler: An off screen one: Ashley spars with Fat Cobra while visiting Avengers Mountain. A little girl, no matter how much power she has and how many skills she's absorbed, can't hope to win against a century+ old Martial Arts master with the inherited skills and chi of countless millennia worth of his predecessors with enough skill to tangle with PhysicalGods.]]
** [[spoiler: Ashley loses a fight to Taskmaster despite her best efforts because despite all her power she's an inexperienced child and he's a consummate professional who puts a lot of time and effort into using his copied skills to their most effective. The lecture he gives her while avoiding her every attack rattles her enough that she decides she needs to get stronger and more skilled ASAP.]]
** [[spoiler: Similarly to the above, being a young child, Ashley's body can only channel so much power (not even getting into the physical limits of being so small) so unless she absorbs a ''lot'' more codices, or a few of significant power, the best long-term solution Mr. Snuggles has for getting more powerful is simply growing older and maturing properly. Ashley isn't happy about it]].
** [[spoiler: Ashley's power set is very similar to Apocalypse's, so when she finally adapts to his DNA (to get his Technopathy) the boost to most of her powers is negligible, though, in relation to the above Mister Snuggles says that the difference will get bigger as she gets older and has a more mature body able to handle and express more power.]]
** Ashley points out that the Registration Act was basically a violation of the Constitutional ban on slavery. Spider-Man wonders why no one thought of that at the time.
** Doctor Strange is ''not'' happy when he finds out the standard policy PRT for Wards amounts to mass malpractice, and threatens to burn the organization unless they fix things.
** [[spoiler:Related to the Fat Cobra example above, Ashley may have access to a massive reservoir of martial arts knowledge due to her codices, but the people she gained the knowledge from all had significantly different forms and body types, so she's currently focusing on practicing Capoeira in order to get her own form down and better assimilate her acquired skills]].
** [[spoiler:Yuri and Yuki's mother was a descendant of the founders of the Hand, and was secretly training her daughters in ninjutsu. When their father noticed the scars on a beach trip when they were teens, and learned just how intense the training was, he applied for divorce. Yuri was able to be killed by the people who took Ashley because she never learned to do the cool stuff, and being a ninja doesn't make you bulletproof]].
** [[spoiler:Lisa could get a good chunk of the local PRT arrested based simply on what she's learned about how they operate since becoming a Ward. Taylor earlier points out how unethical it is that the PRT can transfer Wards to other cities without even telling them or their parents ahead of time, and notes that it's amazing that the Youth Guard hasn't gotten involve yet.]]
** Sauron rants to a captive [[spoiler:Miss Militia]] when she starts to say something about him using his technology to make dinosaur-people instead of curing cancer, he points out that there already ''are'' super-tech cures for cancer, so there must be a reason that cancer still exists despite this, which he attributes to StatusQuoIsGod not wanting "happy endings".

** [[spoiler: After losing a fight to Taskmaster, Ashley becomes convinced that she needs to be stronger and more skilled. First she discretely steals a codex from the Human Torch while he's sleeping, then she violently extracts the Venom and Mania codices from the Scorpion when it turns out that he's piloting a giant Robot modeled on Metal Gear RAY as the final boss of Murderworld, which startles the other Wards. She puts collecting more on hold when picking a fight with Apocalypse results in him agreeing to teach her magic, but the combination of realizing that she can't connect to the rest of the mutants on Krakoa, a prerequisite for Mutant Magic, and Mister Sinister being Mister Sinister makes Ashley snap and decide to take Codices by force, starting with Wolverine's. The following chapter she chases it with Archangel and Colossus, drains skills from Apoclaypse, and then after almost being talked down she goes on to take the Codices from Nightcrawler, Magick, Eye-Boy, Iceman, Storm, Jean Grey, Cyclopes, and five Extras from Venomized.]]

* AudibleSharpness: Averted, Cuddlebug's claws don't make a sound when they form. Ashley says "snikt" instead. [[spoiler: Untill Ashley's powers get an upgrade, that is.]]

** Chapter 21 has [[spoiler: her tell Bloodbath the Carnage Clone "go fuck yourself sideways, dickhead" which she follows up with a rough translation of "and your horse too" because she wasn't fluent enough to know the equivelent of "and the horse you rode in on."]]

** [[spoiler: When arriving back on the Marvel Earth, Ashley gets mad at some cultists who think that mutants are divine, expressing disgust at the idea of being worshipped as a god. After absorbing Storm's symbiote codice, she finds out that there ''is'' a mutant who count as a god due to some bloodline magic and [[ClapYourHandsIfYouBelieve being worshipped by an entire country]]]].

* ButForMeItWasTuesday: [[spoiler: When Ashley realizes that the people who kidnapped her and killed her parents were working for Mister Sinister and thus that it's his fault they're dead, he replies that its his fault that a ''lot'' of people are dead and she's going to be dissapointed if she wants him to feel bad about it.]]
** [[spoiler: When trying to steal the piece of Carnage, Ashley runs into the Invisible Woman, who's had or heard of so many different ways that super kids have shown up older than they should be that she takes a minute to try and guess the ''specific'' reason Ashley looks older after recognizing her]].

* CruelMercy: [[spoiler: Instead of killing Jack, knowing that in his twisted StrawNihilist worldview, him making a hero a killer means that he'd "win", Ashley arrests him, making sure that he's taken alive and expressing a hope that he'd be sentenced to th Birdcage, where he'd spend the rest of his days in a tiny cell, watching the world heal and forget about him]].

* NeverLiveItDown: Andrea X tells Ashley Noir not to let it get out that she almost got killed by a Mysterio because of this trope.

* NeverHeardThatOneBefore: Sauron is rather ticked when the captive [[spoiler:Miss Militia]] starts saying something about how he's using genetic-alteration technology to turn people into dinosaur-hyrids instead of curing cancer, going on a rant.
