* DropTheHammer: Hephaestus' essence is found within one of these. Makes sense because he was the blacksmith of the Pantheon.

** Vanessa Barone, Kuniko Kasahara and the old monk from the episode "The Lotus Temple" were originally oneshot villains that appeared in filler episodes. Here, they fill the Enforcers' usual role of the BigBad's main henchmen.

* WorfHadTheFlu: [[spoiler:The true Monkey King has been cooped up in Heaven with centuries, along with the spell Macaque and Eris cast messing with powers, means that he's rather rusty. It's implied that even ''with'' the power of Poseidon's essence boosting him, the Six-Eared Macaque would be finding the battle against the Monkey King, who's wearing the Armor the Gods, '''much''' more difficult if Sun Wukong was at full strength.]]

* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: Eris can't believe that ''she's'' the logical one during her conversation with Aphrodite's host.

* YourWorstNightmare: The essence of the God of Fear, Phobos, which was absorbed into Ares' own essence, gives its wielder the power to trap people in illusions of their worst fears.

* AirVentPassageway: Jade, Jimmy, and Rachel do this to escape a crowd of [[spoiler: Eros!Drew]]'s brainwashed love cultists, though Rachel is a bit too big for it and has to go through the rafters instead.

* CursedWithAwesome: [[spoiler:Eros!Drew]] shoves a chocolate down Hak Foo's throat, turning him into a statue, but Eris warding him against magical assaults means that he can still move and quickly knocks him out, then plans to use his enhanced form to help take Jade out.

* DisappointedByTheMotive: Simone is ''furious'' when she realizes that [[spoiler:Eros!Drew]] did everything he did ''just to go to the school dance with her''.

* DwindlingParty: As the Aphrodite Arc continues, the kids remaining in the school keep getting captured and transformed by [[spoiler:Eros!Drew's]] cultists. Yahir is the first to go, followed by Jimmy and then Rachel.

** [[spoiler: Eros!Drew]] tries to brainwash Simone to love him after she rebuffs his advances by means of telling him she's gay. However, he still takes the time to make it clear that he's ''expanding'' her sexuality, not just flipping it.

* IncompatibleOrientation: When [[spoiler:Eros!Drew]] tries to charm Simone, she tells him, rather bluntly since he doesn't get it immediately, that she's gay. He decides to force one of his chocolates into her mouth and alter her sexuality (though in an EvenEvilHasStandards moment he makes it clear that he's ''expanding'' her sexuality, not flipping it).

** More than one of these gets used in Chapter 17, from Eris dissing the bearer of Aphrodite's essence to Simone berating [[spoiler:Eros!Drew]] for how pathetic his motive was.

* StockYuck: Even [[spoiler:Aphrodite!Arielle]] hates white chocolate, using it to encase Eris while saying she wouldn't waste the good stuff.
* StraightGay: [[spoiler:Eros!Drew]] was apparently completely unaware that Simone was gay, and doesn't immediately get it when she rejects his rather forceful advances for this reason.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: When fleeing [[spoiler:Eros!Drew's]] minions in an AirVentPassageway, Rachel is too large to fit and has to go up to the rafters, and it's noted that even the below-average Jade is finding it a tight squeeze.
* {{Synchronization}}: [[spoiler:Eros!Drew's]] cultists all scream and pass out after their master is knocked unconscious.

** When [[spoiler:Eros!Drew]] shoves an enchanted chocolate down Hak Foo's mouth, he turns into a statue. Unfortunately for him, Eris applied wards to Hak that allow him to still think and move in that state.
** Later, [[spoiler:Eros!Drew]] hits Jimmy with an attack that threatens to literally give him a "heart of stone" to try and force Simone and Jade to surrender.

* ValentinesDayEpisode: The Aphrodite arc takes place on Valentine's Day, fittingly enough. Jade's subplot shows her school getting ready for a holiday dance, before the building is hijacked by [[spoiler: Eros!Drew]].

** [[spoiler:Eros!Drew]] and his minions are weak to things related to science and reason, Jade theorizing that it's because they can prove that love is nothing but hormones. Jade and Simone manage to beat [[spoiler:Drew]] up by luring him into the science lab, while Rachel is able to survive her HeroicSacrifice trapping the cultists in the library by diving into the test book isle, where they are unable to follow.

* ExplainExplainOhCrap: At the end of Chapter 9, Jackie notices that the bag -- that contained the hammer with the essence of Hephaestus -- is gone. When he asks where it was, Tohru and Jade realized that it must've slipped during Tohru's tirade with his mother.

* {{Magitek}}: With the power of Hephaestus, Tohru's mother turns ordinary kitchen supplies and appliances into a functioning suit of PoweredArmor, complete with a JetPack and an ArmCannon.

** Eris is ''not'' a fan of ''Creator/SethMacFarlane'' and his habit of using tons of references ''as'' the joke instead of informing said jokes, and tells the Monkey King off for doing the same.

* TimeSkip: The series starts about a year after the series ended.

** Chapter 20 reveals that [[spoiler:the "Monkey King" from the show is ''actually'' the Six-Eared Macaque using a spell Eris helped him make to usurp the Sun Wukong's identity, and Eris breaks the spell when he absorbs Poseidon's essence.]]

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Hestia appears in front of Team Chan, Captain Black and Prometheus as a grand goddess... but the minute Prometheus opens his mouth, she slaps him across the face before apologizing to Team Chan for her rudness. Then after berating Prometheus, she hands them all (except Prometheus) some freshly baked muffins.

* DarkSkinnedBlond: Vanessa Barone.

* BalefulPolymorph: The chocolates that [[spoiler: Eros!Drew]] hands out don't just brainwash people into lovesick slaves, but will also physically transform them. If they have inner beauty, they become idealized versions of themselves, but if not, they turn into random objects like potted plants or statues.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** Despite Jade being part of the action to stop Eris from unleashing chaos, she still has school to go through. Jackie is furious when Jade tanked her mid-term in Chapter 7, to the point that he prevents her from joining him, Uncle and Tohru to India.
** Due to what happened to Zhixin at the end of the Athena arc (see SomethingWeForgot), he's ''very'' pissed off at his teammates and relishes in obtaining the power from Hera's essence (the ability to command people to do as he says).
** Rather than using his divine foresight to find the man using the bayonet with the essence of Ares in a Civil War reenactment, Prometheus snaps a picture and uses the name tag on him and the pictures online about the reenactment.
** When Eris is chasing the heroes, who are fleeing in a helicopter, she is calling out to them, but they can't hear her over the rotors. Jade even lampshades it.
** Eris stands in the middle of the road [[spoiler:after Ares dies a second time]], her power leaking out and affecting people. She promptly gets hit by a car whose driver her power drove into a blind rage.
** An aircraft being cloaked doesn't make it actually ''invisible''. Thus, Eris is able to attack the Section 13 jet as it returns with Aphrodite's essence.
** When fleeing [[spoiler:Eros!Drew's]] minions in an AirVentPassageway, Rachel is too large to fit and has to go up to the rafters, and it's noted that even the below-average Jade is finding it a tight squeeze.

* HeelFaceTurn: Finn, Ratso and Chow are officially clean and work for Section 13 as janitors and chefs. No mention as to what happened to Hak Foo, though.

* InsaneTrollLogic: How the Monkey King figures out that the Chans are on a flight to London.

** The fic has a bunch of these toward commercial airlines.

* SomethingCompletelyDifferent:
** The main focus on ''Jackie Chan Adventures'' were from Asian roots (Shendu and the Talismans being Chinese and Tarakaudo and the Oni masks Japanese). ''Olympian Journey'' is based on Ancient Greece.
** In Chapter 7, Scruffy is the stowaway this time, not Jade (as she's being forced to stay at Section 13 to prepare for a test retake).
