* CurbstompBattle: The MarvelUniverse outclasses the Franchise/HarryPotter universe in almost every way in this story. Not only can a Muggle like ComicBook/IronMan breach the security wards of Hogwarts (finding it with the help of Captain Britain and Meggan, two magical MarvelUniverse heroes), Harry was trained by Comicbook/DoctorStrange of all people, effectively eliminating his need for a magical education. Also, magical culture is shown to be stagnant and backwards, filled with ridiculous amounts of FantasticRacism and corrupt to high heaven. The two reasons the Potterverse shows up at all are because Harry can't avoid the prophecy, and because (per WordOfGod) even though there exist god-like beings (as well as actual gods) in the Marvel Universe, many of them focus more on the Galactuses and the Doctor Dooms, while leaving lesser heroes to take care of lesser villains, which Voldemort counts as in this world. The specific example given is that there exists a super villain named "Paste-Pot Pete," who acts as an antagonist to Spider-Man or Daredevil, but would obviously not be of much use against, say, Thor, the god of Thunder.

* ScrewYouElves: The tone of this story is very much on the side of Marvel and very harsh towards Wizarding Culture. Not individual wizards or witches, mind you, but to the culture itself, which is portrayed as ridiculously racist and stagnant. Somewhat justified, as Rowling herself is on record as saying that someone with a gun will generally beat someone with a wand - and the Marvel characters have much better tech than guns.
** Not to actual elves, though- those Harry is rather nice towards.

* ShoutOut: There's several brief references to Gotham City from the Franchise/DCUniverse put in as an in-joke. Also, Harry is reading a ComicStrip/Garfield book while on trial by the Ministry as they attempt to declare Tony Stark's adoption illegal.

disambig Nice Hat

* NiceHat: Sirius gets one.
-->Sirius: It seems the ladies love a boat, and the ladies love the Captain of a fast boat the most.
-->Harry: You're the captain?
-->Sirius: As far as they know. [points to his hat] I've got a hat. Never underestimate the power of a good hat.

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* WhatDoesThisButtonDo: Dudley takes this UpToEleven, playing with an entire control panel's worth of buttons in Stark Enterprises, leading to explosive results, and kickstarting the story.
