Lampshaded with Ganondorf in the sequel, as Link is aghast at seeing the FinalBoss of ''Ocarina of Time'' appear in Termina after he was presumably killed in that final battle.

Justified since otherwise the author would have an impossible time [[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters fitting in all those characters]]. Sometimes we see what they're up to away from the group as well.

** Ocarina Link CompletelyMissingThePoint, such as when he reaches Ganon's Castle in the future. Instead of noticing the lava moat and the giant castle floating over it, he sees that a ''rock has moved and is therefore evil.''

As it has not been updated since 2013, sadly, it can be considered essentially dead.

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The humor in the first few parts of the first fanfic contained a lot of what some people would call "lol random" humor (Among plenty of other humor). It wouldn't be until around the end of the Forest Temple that it began to move away from this and into the more clever variety it's known for. Mr. Light Chicken Bulbs has since rewritten the early chapters specifically to avert this trope and make the quality more consistent.

* FreudianSlip: "Hookshot" is frequently spelled as "hook''shit''". An acknowledgement of this very page's existence from Mr. Bulbs himself suggests it isn't an accident.

* KillItWithFire: Fire causes Gyorg to shrink down to about the size of a large dog. (Well, [[AcceptableBreaksFromReality he's got to join the party somehow...]])

* MrViceGuy: As mentioned above, King Dodongo is greedy and a relentless businessman. When money isn't involved, however, he's surprisingly nice... relative to the others.

* RunningGag: Quite a few. One notable one is that whenever Ocarina Link tries to use his ocarina, he plays the Bolero of Fire. This occurs before he even learns the song, once.
** And he does it again [[spoiler:right at the climax of Majora's Mask, too!]]

* WhatDoesThisButtonDo: While trying to open the Gerudo Fortress gates, Ocarina Link finds a panel absolutely filled with buttons and levers. He randomly presses one button, opening the gate. [[TooDumbToLive He then stupidly presses every single button and pulls every single lever.]] This [[NiceJobBreakingItHero launches missiles, electrocutes guards, and turns the fortress into a giant robot.]]

* GuestStarPartyMember: During ''Twilight Princess'', the bosses from ''Ocarina of Time'' and ''Majora's Mask'' [[spoiler:except Morpha/Morpheel, who are the same being]] come and go and generally only join Link's party for one dungeon. * CursedWithAwesome: [[spoiler: Morpha]] is "sued" and his punishment is being transformed into an eyeball, and allowed to create a body for himself of whatever he wants and living for a thousand years. [[spoiler: He ends up becoming [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Morpheel]].]]

* MetaGuy: Odolwa evolved into this over time, constantly reading from the game's script and announcing whenever Link gains a new item.

* MrViceGuy: As mentioned above, King Dodongo is greedy and a relentless businessman. When money isn't involved, however, he's surprisingly nice and actually quite considerate of others.

** Ganondorf, all the way.
** Gyorg may have even larger shades of this, given that he still attacks Link (both ones) whenever possible. And not because of his stupidity.

** Subverted. Most people freak out at the sight of Link's party, but some don't seem to be phased at all.

** Some, if not all, of the bosses from Ocarina of Time would be killed off, including Morpha drowning...somehow.

* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Most of the bosses start out as somewhat flat, but develop parts of their personality over time, often via interaction with Link, the other bosses, and the enviroment. Barinade in particular went from fairly generic to one of the best characters in the story.

* FreudianSlip: Even in recent chapters, the author has a tendency to misspell "hookshot" as "hook''shit''".
