** GenreBlind: Charlie Swan is this to a T, even to the point where he solemnly believes he'd make a great inventor than a police officer. Though this probably makes sense considering that he's LockedOutOfTheLoop, just like in most of Twilight prior to Breaking Dawn. [[spoiler:Which makes sense considering that it's all but stated that he and Bella were pre-Breaking Dawn]].

* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Marik fires Shadow, not because he botched the "One does not simply walk into Mordor" speech or even suggesting the memetic tactic of using the eagles, but by referring to them as hawks. [[SubvertedTrope THEN he starts calling]] [[DiscreditedMeme him out for the tactic]]. Shadow botched the line on purpose.

* WhatTheHellCastingAgency: InUniverse. Many times, a character is put into the role that they don't fit in. This gets pointed out all throughout the fanfics. [[AdaptationalHeroism Villains are cast as heroes]], [[HollywoodOld young people are cast as old people]], [[CrossCastRole women are cast as men]], etc. It's to the point that there's a scene in Blooper and the Beast that parodies it by having some of the characters talking about their miscasts.

* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Marik fires Shadow, not because he botched the "One does not simply walk into Mordor" speech or even suggesting the memetic tactic of using the eagles, but by referring to them as hawks. ** A minor example thanks to miscasting. [[LightNovel/SwordArtOnline Oberon]] and [[Anime/CodeGeass Lelouch]] managed to snag the roles of Elrond and Gandalf respectively.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Orion Cox has bright blue hair, in parody of Original Characters.

** In Blooper and the Beast, there's an author by the name of [=DragonKnight07=]. In Japanese, this would be [[Franchise/WhenTheyCry Ryukishi07]].

** Chapter 5 opens with Shadow recruiting [[WesternAnimation/TheHunchbackOfNotreDame Frollo]] to be [[ActorAllusion the asylum owner]] after he gets thrown out of [[Anime/PantyAndStockingWithGarterbelt The Anarchy]] [[WebAnimation/TheFrolloShow House]].

Good examples of this are when he's doing the role of [[Film/TheLordOfTheRings Boromir]] and when, with the help of a CrazyAwesome director and Van Helsing, managed to turn [[Film/BallisticEcksVsSever one of the most infamously bad movies]] into one of the most awesome.

* WhamLine: It managed to make an EveryEpisodeEnding into one, as it reveals who a certain character is... That ending? "[[spoiler:Dear Princess Celestia...]]"

* TheCollector: The BigBad of ''Shadow of the Beast'' is soon revealed to be this. [[spoiler:Of female Sonic characters]].

* DespairEventHorizon: Like the Beast, Sonic crosses this, but not because Bella left him. It's because [[spoiler: he realizes that the author has the final say on when he's back to being a hedgehog, which means that their attempts to speed up the story were all for naught]]... [[spoiler:Though it's soon revealed that the author ''had'' Sonic act like that.]]

* SelfInsertFic: First {{justified}} in ''Sleeping Blooper'', as [=OCs=] are {{Empty Shell}}s that will eventually develop their own personality, [[{{Jerkass}} usually one unfavorable]]. In order to stop that from happening, the author has to base the character off someone... usually themselves. It soon gets {{deconstructed}} in ''Shadow of the Beast'', where [[spoiler:the BigBad is a self-insert who had romanced himself with several Sonic characters, and by romanced, that means played the role of a prince in a Fanmake to woo the princess, then once the HappilyEverAfter ensues, imprison them and add them to the collection]].

** Blooper and the Beast combined two of Gaston's villain songs into one, but even then it gets subverted as Orion couldn't sing the whole thing before Shadow shoos him out. He soon starts singing a bit but doesn't finish his song.

** Shadow of the Beast: It's shaping up to be Tai Lung (as the Beast), [[spoiler: who isn't actually Tai Lung, but rather [[SelfInsertFic an author who was turned into Tai Lung]]]].

Thus beginning a series of {{Film Fic}}s that went OffTheRails. This is the Fanmake Blooper Series, a series of {{Film Fic}}s (or as they’re referred to in the fanfic, "Fanmakes") that ask the questions of "What if the Film Fics were cast, directed, and shot like an actual film?" and "What if the characters in these fanmakes actually ''acted'' in character?" and lays the common flaws and tropes of a fanmake out to the field and lambasts them, sometimes calling out specific Film Fics.

** A slightly major example comes in the form of [[spoiler:[[Film/WhoFramedRogerRabbit Judge Doom]], who acts less of an antagonist and more of an investigator who informs Shadow of what happened to Maria. Though he’s not that much of a hero, [[TheDreaded as toons still fear him]]]].

He gets better in Shadow of the Beast, serving as the new bartender and even managing to convince Megamind to form the angry mob to [[StormingTheCastle storm Tai Lung’s castle]].]]

* DeconstructionFic: While most of the time it parodies the tropes of a Film Fic, there are times where they take a serious look at a trope and ask "If fanmakes were made like actual films, how would the cast react to it?". The answer? The authors are more like directors with the ability to act as God and even brainwash the actors into doing a role they either aren’t fit to play as or don’t wish to play, the characters are unpaid actors who are cast into unfitting roles and are understandably upset by it, and attempts to derail the fanmake, speeding up the fanmake by cutting corners so that they’d be done sooner, or [[HamAndCheese making the most of it]] are commonplace.

* DespairEventHorizon: Like the Beast, Sonic crosses this, but not because Bella left him. It’s because [[spoiler: he realizes that the author has the final say on when he’s back to being a hedgehog, which means that their attempts to speed up the story were all for naught]]... [[spoiler:Though it’s soon revealed that the author ''had'' Sonic act like that.]]

* HalfwayPlotSwitch: Blooper And The Beast, near the end, switches focus to the Christmas midquel. This brings the plot to such a screeching halt that [[spoiler:the author actually had to hire three characters who specialize in {{Massive Multiplayer Crossover}}s to go and deal with it. Though Sonic doesn’t mind that, since it ends the plot switch.]]

** Shadow Of The Beast has the chapter named after Shadow’s role in the cutaway gag for that episode.

* MindControlEyes: Two versions of this. One where there’s a red ring around the iris, and another where it’s DullEyesOfUnhappiness. [[spoiler:The differences between the two are pointed out by what device is used to brainwash the people with.]]
* NoNameGiven: Played with. Chrysalis wasn’t called by name in the show she was in (the comics, however, manage to do so) and so none of the characters know her name and just referred to her as the Hole-y Queen.

** The very reason why the fanfic was created in the first place was to have a fanmake that went off the rails by doing something that was so obvious to do in the first five minutes that even a guard was able to do it. It’s even the goal for a few characters to throw fanmakes off the rails, especially when Sleeping Blooper showed that they can make excellent shows.

** {{Railroading}}[=/=]TheStationsOfTheCanon: And yet they somehow manage to encounter scenes and plot points similar to the original in question. In fact, there’s references to the former trope in the form of train metaphors.
* OhCrap: The Author has this when [[spoiler:Bella’s mind shield prevents him from brainwashing her]].

* OriginalCharacter: Orion Cox and Adam. The former is a parody of one, while the latter is not. It also gets {{exploited|trope}} by Van Helsing. Since Original Characters have no canonical characterization outside of the one they’re given by the author, they can fit any role the author sees fit, [[spoiler:including a coward]].

* RageAgainstTheAuthor: Blooper and the Beast’s entire finale is this.

* RightBehindMe: Max utters this when Bella enters Sonic’s castle.

* SmugSnake: The Author of the Beauty and the Beast fanmake. He spends the entirety of Blooper and the Beast setting up everything so that his self-insert can kiss Bella by the end of the fanmake, including turning Sonic into a Werehog and forcing people to make the same moves that the characters in the original film did. Though once things don’t go his way, he suffers a VillainousBreakdown as he attempts to get everyone to obey him. Is it any wonder that [[spoiler:his own creation hates him]]?

** In Blooper and the Beast, there’s an author by the name of [=DragonKnight07=]. In Japanese, this would be [[Franchise/WhenTheyCry Ryukishi07]].
** "Every being of [Shadow’s] fibre is screaming, "[[WebAnimation/PonyDotMov Crush! Kill! Destroy! Swag!]]"
** During Shadow’s lamenting, he states that he’s [[VideoGame/ShadowTheHedgehog "supposed to be the badass loading his pistol and riding on his motorcycle all while it's set to a badass theme song."]]

** Adam states when he’ll stop [[spoiler:regretting his murder of the author.]]: "[[{{Film/Casablanca}} Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon. And for the rest of my life.]]". Van Helsing tells him he got the quote wrong.

* TheStarscream: Facilier’s plan is to take over the kingdom and thus when [[spoiler:Orion marries Kairi, he’ll backstab him and rule as King]].

* TakeThat: As well as Fanmakes in general, there’s also several towards Sonic 06. There’s also one to Twilight and Jar Jar Binks, [[AcceptableTargets obviously]].

* TimeSkip: Lampshaded in Sleeping Blooper, where the skip in question sped through the sixteen year gap of Sleeping Beauty and during the FridgeLogic it presents when [[NotAllowedToGrowUp the Powerpuff Girls don’t grow up along with Kairi]]. It gets lampshaded again in Blooper and the Beast, in which the entire span of events going from Bella heading to Sonic's Castle to her exiting to save her father was just a day. Yes, that includes the midquel.

** Kairi and the rest of the Kingdom Hearts characters do this. Kairi in particular, as she always acts out her lines and gets frustrated whenever things get derailed, plot points aren’t done correctly, or when the other characters aren’t playing their roles.

In the case of Adam, though? [[spoiler:It turned out alright]]...

** Sleeping Blooper: The intended Big Bad was Chrysalis (as Maleficent), though she gets shot in the head by Van Helsing, so she gets replaced by [[Disney/ThePrincessAndTheFrog Facilier]]... [[DemotedToDragon only for him to become]] TheDragon to [[spoiler: Orion Cox]].

* RewritingReality: In this universe, authors, if they have the right equipment, are able to write out stories and have settings come to life within a few keystrokes, even if they're the same stories and settings used countless times. They can also summon characters to play certain roles and can even force them to do something that they normally wouldn't. Though they only seem to have direct control over what the ''story'' is seeing. Anything that's "off-screen" or away from the story's perspective is out of the author's control.

* BrickJoke: The second chapter of Blooper and the Beast notes how the authors believe Shadow could fit in any role. ''Any'' role. Shadow of the Beast begins with him being [[spoiler: a princess]]. The final chapter of Shadow of the Beast ends [[spoiler:with Shadow using the eagles to fly to Mount Doom and fighting the dragons.]]

* BigBrotherInstinct: Shadow towards Maria, and by extension, anyone that reminds Shadow of Maria, [[spoiler:as the cast of the Tom and Jerry Movie fanmake learn]]...

He plays Prince Phillip, but his egotistic attitude makes him act more like Gaston]]. A similar thing happened during the raid on Tai Lung's castle, with Tai Lung discussing this trope before he sends The Furious Five to attack.

* CutawayGag: Shadow of the Beast pulls these off in every chapter's beginning, as Shadow is reminded in one way or another of a role he played before, and most of the time, they're funny [[spoiler:save for one]]. One joke in particular had this in the middle of a chapter, depicting the almighty Dracula [[spoiler:as Lucy from {{ComicStrip/Peanuts}}]].
