Removing as there's no mention of an oath to be siblings.

* BloodBrothers: William, Robb, Jon and Theon, the four becoming fast friends in Winterfell and William telling them that he considers them his brothers all but in name. The bonds between them are so strong, that Theon chooses to aid Will instead of his family.

Asskicking Leads To Leadership is the new name of the trope.

* {{Hypocrite}}: Cersei. When Ned claims that the Iron Throne is William's by right, she claims that Aegon the Conqueror became king [[AsskickingEqualsAuthority through force]] rather than by right; [[JerkassHasAPoint this is true]], except she later tells Tommen and Myrcella that the throne is rightfully Joffrey's, plus Joffrey is too wimpy to do any ass-kicking himself. She also claims that there is nothing wrong with committing incest, citing the Targaryens as an example, completing brushing off the fact that numerous generations of inbreeding ultimately produced Aerys the Mad, one of the worst kings in the history of Westeros (and whom Joffrey is, canonically, often compared to).

Armor Piercing Slap is no longer a trope

* ArmorPiercingSlap: Arya gives one to Joffrey when he not-so-subtly threatens to rape her. She does not go for a MegatonPunch because she knows the slap will embarrass Joffrey much more.

* DefiantCaptive: Arya. When she was found out, she crippled one of Tywin's men with a ''steak knife'' and nearly escaped, enough to let Tywin know that letting her get too close to anything sharp is tantamount to handing her the keys to the cell. During their confrontations, she has no trouble in talking to Tywin as if they were equals. When Joffrey orders Ser Meryn to force her to kneel, she brutally stabs the Kingsguard in the back of his knee with his own knife. And when Joffrey not-so-subtly threatened to rape her, she [[ArmorPiercingSlap slapped him]].

** A more subtle one: in the books, Aerys Targaryen, the mad king, is implied to have at least [[AttemptedRape attempted to molest]] Johanna Lannister at the latter's wedding to Tywin, which drove a rift between them. In both the fic and in the main series, Joffrey is frequently compared to Aerys in demeanor, while Tywin himself notes similarities between himself and William, while Arya talking to Tywin about her relationship with Will bring up memories of [[MoralityChain Johanna acting as her husband's better half]]. Come chapter 24, when Joffrey and Arya meet again, Joffrey [[IHaveYouNowMyPretty threatens to rape her]] [[ForcedToWatch in front of his brother]]. [[spoiler: [[ArmorPiercingSlap Fortunately, it ends better this time.]]]]

Poisonous Friend is no longer a trope

* PoisonousFriend: Loras Tyrell is this for Renly. His feelings for him are genuine, but he also manipulates him to secure Tyrell domination of the Crown and place Margaery as Queen.

** Renly as well: he wishes for the war to end as quickly as possible, and has little desire to be King even though [[PoisonousFriend Loras]] is pushing for him to do so. However, he chooses to back the Tyrells, who indicate the price for their help is William's marriage to Margaery, even though it would completely undermine his strongest alliance.

* ImaginedInnuendo: In Chapter 26, when Delphine tells Barristan that Will and Arya are "discussing war strategies" alone in his tent, it's interpreted as a SexualEuphemism. Though in this case, it's just making out, not sex.

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* LightningBruiser: William is a talented swordsman decked out in heavy armor, but he's surprisingly fast and agile, regardless of whether or not he's wearing it. Bonus points for the fact that his sword, Dragonbane, can emit bolts of lightning when used against Dremora or dragons. UpToEleven when he uses two of his shouts (Elemental Fury and Slow Time).
