The series focuses on Roger Rocket, a 13-year-old boy in YER-GASP (Young Earth Representatives to GASP), a project to send young humans to Planet Zed, a city world home to all sorts of aliens and robots that serves as capital of the Galactic Alliance of Systems and Planets (GASP). On Planet Zed, Roger befriends a robot named Calculus and an alien named Voona, and the three have adventures across Planet Zed and other worlds, encountering many strange and wonderful things.

Roger Rocket is a thirteen-year-old American boy in YER-GASP whose love of outer space adventure comics has made him determined to make the most of his time on Planet Zed. The youngest of the YER-GASP ambassadors and his own family, Roger is audacious, adventurous, and confident to a fault. He is an eager explorer, a wannabe space hero, and a fantastic cook all rolled into one bold package.

* CasanovaWannabe: Due to his extreme self-confidence, he believes himself to be a ladies' man when really he's mostly just a space-obsessed dork.

* FishOutOfWater: On Planet Zed, where he encounters all manner of wonders that the others deem mundane, ranging from an alien supermarket to a galactic food court.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Although his inflated view of himself can make him pompous and boastful, he's a well-meaning person who is always willing to help others, would never abandon his friends, and is always open to encountering new people and new opportunities.

* NaiveNewcomer: Played with. He tends to believe he has an idea of how things work on Planet Zed due to his knowledge of space adventure stories, but things don't always go as he expects and his friends often have to explain to him elements of the setting.

* {{Pride}}: His biggest flaw. He has an extremely high opinion of himself due to his extreme self-assurance in his knowledge of how dealing with sci-fi situations work.
* SmallNameBigEgo: He is so confident and daring that he frequently overestimates his abilities, requiring his friends to bail him out whenever he ends up biting off more than he can chew.

Calculus is Roger’s highly intelligent and well-mannered robot buddy, a grey tin can on wheels whose tiny body is packed with dozens of tools and gadgets for every situation he and his friends could possibly get in. Always prepared for the worst-case scenario, Calculus possesses both an endless curiosity for the universe's countless wonders and a great sense of caution for its equally infinite dangers.

* LoveMakesYouDumb: He loses his usual polite, fearful, and curious nature and devolves into a lovestruck and oblivious fool when around those he has feelings for, namely his crush Integer - much to his own chagrin.

* VitriolicBestBuds: With Voona. The two frequently rib on each other and get annoyed by each other, but nonetheless are loyal and respectful to eahc other.

Voona is Roger’s other friend, a lovely and tomboyish alien girl from the planet Cholak with pointy ears, tentacles for hair, and a short temper. The rebellious daughter of a respected GASP diplomat, Voona is a skilled martial artist never afraid to say what’s on her mind. Despite her rough and tough image, Voona is also an animal lover with a protective compassion for all creatures great and small.

* IJustWantToBeNormal: She is very ashamed of being from a political family and prefers to hang out with common people instead, because she just wants to be treated as a normal kid and to avoid the hassles of galactic politics.

* RebelliousPrincess: While not a true princess, her political background and her distaste for the formalities of politics in favour of just going rough-and-tumble make her quite similar to one.

* SecretlyWealthy: She is so insistent on distancing herself from her upper-class background that she adamantly refuses to make use of her father's enormous wealth and hides the fact she has a gargantuan allowance from even her own friends.
* SlummingIt: Prefers hang around more with the less refined and more casual members of society instead of the rich and powerful of Planey Zed that she was born amongst, desperately trying to hide the fact that she's related to one of GASP's most esteemed diplomats. Her success is mixed.
* TomboyPrincess: Once again, she's not a real princess, but she takes a lot of pride in her tomboyish attitude, and expresses a strong distaste for elegant feminine things.

Gaitha is the wife of an interspecies alien couple hosting Roger on Planet Zed. A fussy and elegant lady from the planet Nhimm, Gaitha has a long snout like an anteater and works as an archivist at the GASP Universal Museum. She is prim, proper, and utterly enamoured with her job, but also a strong, highly intelligent, and compassionate woman knowledgeable in an impressive array of subjects.

Zemir is Gaitha's husband and the other half of Roger’s host couple. Originating from the planet Elan, Zemir is extremely fat and possesses four arms and four eyes, which help him as both a mechanic and a licensed starship pilot. Exuberant yet easygoing, Zemir loves being in the midst of the wildest and loudest events, but despite his lowbrow interests, he is very intelligent and knows a lot of useful things.

* SmarterThanYouLook: He's frequently underestimated by others as nothing more than a crude and lazy idiot, much to his chagrin, as he's an expert in all things related to technology and the streets of Planet Zed.

Qual is Roger’s rival, an alien from the planet Daquarri 8 who looks like a hybrid of an octopus and an anglerfish. Plagued by massive insecurities that manifest as an intense hatred for Roger and his confident attitude, Qual is determined to prove himself superior to Roger in every field possible. Unfortunately, this (along with his massive crush on Voona) often gets him into trouble with less savoury figures.

* TheBartender: He plays this role as the owner and manager of Spaceman's Stop, a cantina-like place where Roger, his friends, and many other citizens of Planet Zed hang out.

Modem and Trigonometric are Calculus’ "parents", as well as friends and neighbors to Gaitha and Zemir. They are inventors who make a living by designing hi-tech products for big businesses to sell. Modem is Calculus' "dad", tall, lean, and silver with a single wheeled leg and a somewhat world-weary attitude. Trigonometric is Calculus' "mom", a pink, spherical, hovering robot with multiple arms and a bubbly personality.

* GadgeteerGenius: Both of them. They work as inventors, developing the various crazy gadgets that big businesses transform into products for the general populace of Planet Zed.

!! Tardell Thinth
Tardell is Voona’s father, and he also happens to be one of the most esteemed ambassadors in GASP. But for all his negotiation skills, charisma, and open-minded thinking, Tardell has trouble bonding with his daughter, who sees her extremely wealthy political family as embarrassing, though deep down she does love him very much. As a male Cholakite, he lacks his daughter’s tentacle hair and is totally bald.

* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: Despite their admittedly strained relationship, Tardell will always pulls out for Voona in the end and genuinely tries to improve things with her.
* BrokenAce: Despite being one of the best diplomats in GASP, he is plagued by a strained relationship with his daughter and an inability to fully connect with or understand her.
* ParentsAsPeople: He genuinely does love and care for Voona, but as a political gentleman, he just cannot wrap his head around her tomboyish nature, her disinterest in politics, and her refusal to be treated as an upper-class figure.
* QuintessentialBritishGentleman: Talks and behaves like this to emphasize his upper-class background.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: He does his best to help Roger and his friends when their adventures involve the society of another planet and does his best to work out fair agreements that work for everyone.
* RubberForeheadAliens: He looks almost entirely human save for his hairless purple skin and his pointy ears.
* StepfordSmiler: He's quite good at putting on a polite, friendly, and compassionate image for the public, but deep inside, he's often troubled and unhappy about his private life and his family troubles.
* TurnOutLikeHisFather: Or in this case, her mother. He recognizes Voona's attitude as that of her mother and worries a lot about it, especially given the foregone circumstances of their marriage.
* WellDoneDadGuy: He genuinely wants Voona to be proud of her family background and not to be ashamed for the fact that her dad is an upper-class political figure.
* WhyCouldntYouBeDifferent: He has trouble understanding Voona's rough and tough attitude, viewing her behaviour as inappropriate for a young woman for her social standing.

!! Mr. Harthogarus Thol
Mr. Thol is a teacher at Andromeda Secondary School, where Roger, his friends, and others (like Qual) attend. He is a giant hairy alien from the planet Dulgara with tusks and six eyes. A stern fellow who values toughness and fair play, Mr. Thol's true passions lie outside of school, for he leads an active fitness and adventuring after-school group called the Star Rangers, which Voona and Qual are members of.

!! Integer
Integer is a student at Andromeda Secondary School who loves making different kinds of collections. She is a golden humanoid robot with extendable arms and a single ponytail-like antenna on the back of her head. Kind and cheerful, she is strangely nurturing and protective towards the things she collects. Calculus sports a huge crush on her, despite her collecting obsession sometimes causing conflict with Roger.

* CloudCuckoolander: If her obsession with collecting wasn't an indication, she's more than a little eccentric, to say the least.
* TheCollector: A non-malicious example. She is tends to gather things with little regard for how it might effect others (like not returning lost items) and can be very protective of her collections, but she treats everything she collects with utmost respect and gentleness.
* CollectorOfTheStrange: She's a collector of virtually anything, from living creatures to old technology to plants to minerals.
* FriendlyEnemy: Despite her collecting obsession occasionally leading to conflict with Roger, she has absolutely not malice towards them and sometimes even helps them.
* GenkiGirl: She has a peppy and optimistic attitude when it comes to searching for things to collect and adding things to her collection.
* ItMustBeMine: Has this attitude with things she needs to add to her collections, as she doesn't quite understand that others may have need for the things she collects.
* NiceGirl: Despite her oddness, she's nothing buy a sweet and peppy young robot.
* ObliviousToLove: She is completely oblivious to Calculus' infatuation with her because, like the stereotypical robot, she actually has no understanding of what love even is.
* ThePollyanna: She is almost always in a good mood and rarely lets anything get her down for long.
* RobotGirl: She's the most humanoid of the robot characters and the most feminine-looking of them as well.

!! Styleen Felfew
Styleen is a student at Andromeda Secondary School whose species is noted for having psychic powers. She is a small ant-like alien from the planet Thurisia with no mouth, four arms, and large antennae. Possessing telepathy, telekinesis, and mind-reading abilities, she is a gentle and compassionate soul who Roger and his friends sometimes seek for help, although she has a strange interest in Qual.

* OddFriendship: Develops one with the egotistical and self-centered Qual. It begins totally one-sided, but Qual slowly yet surely warms up to her.

* WildCard: Her odd yet compassionate nature and her interest in Qual's attitude makes every bit as likely to be a source help for Roger and his friends as she is to be a hindrance.

!! Hydraulics
Hydraulics is a hall monitor at Andromeda Secondary School who takes his duties way too seriously. He is a black robot with four arms, one eye, and a treaded base in place of feet. No-nonsense and by-the-book in the extreme, he is on a constant lookout for troublemakers and rulebreakers, even when not at school, and he will not hesitate to enforce the laws on anybody, even Roger and his friends when they're on adventures.

* AllCrimesAreEqual: His zero-tolerance attitude towards rulebreaking tends to result in this especially towards what he sees as the vigilantism of Roger and his friends.
* ByTheBookCop: To ridiculous extremes. He follows the established rules and laws of an institution to a T, even if it means hindering his ability to stop rulebreakers.
* EnemyMine: Occasionally teams up with Roger instead of trying to punish him, usually whenever share enemies are about, namely Glorgo and Karak.
* InspectorJavert: He tends to antagonize Roger and his friends just as often as he does their enemies due to his extreme lawfulness giving him little tolerance for Roger's adventures.
* LawfulStupid: Has a tendency towards this due to his extreme law abidance, which can hinder him quite often.
* LiteralMinded: His lack of a sense of humour and extremely lawful nature can make him prone to this.
* SpacePolice: He's a parody of the concept.
* StarfishRobots: While he does have a humanoid torso, his treaded base, multiple arms, and singular eye make him distinctive inhuman.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He just wants to maintain peace and order around him and follow in the footsteps of his SpacePolice heroes. It's just he's a bit too fanatical about it.
* YellowSashOfPower: Despite being a hall monitor, he's often treated as an actual cop. This is mostly due to how absurdly seriously he treats his duties as an enforcer of rules, but he even carries this sentiment outside of school.

!! Horace Holstein
Horace Holstein is one of Planet Zed's most unique denizens, for he is the result GASP criminals abducting an American farmboy and one of his cows in the 1950s, and conducting illegal experiments to merge them into a humanoid bovine. He acts much like a country person, but has a deep interest in Earth, which often brings him into contact with Roger. He works as a grocer, selling the alien vegetables he grows in his own home.

* ALoadOfBull: He's a half-human, half-cattle creature created from illegal alien experiments.
* AliensStealCattle: His origin story involves this.
* BodyHorror: He's the result of highly unethical and illegal experiments conducted by alien criminals on an abducted human and his cow, fusing them into a single being.
* EasilyImpressed: Due to the fact he's an Earthling living in another galaxy, he's often astonished by the things about Earth that he learns from Roger and is massively fascinated with learning as much as possible about where he originated from.
* {{Farmboy}}: Used to be one and still has a lot of the. However, he doesn't have much any memory of what Earth was like due to the experiments behind his creation (his earliest memory is waking up in his current form in the lab he was created in).
* MeaningfulName: Holsteins are a breed of cattle (and Horace was his human name).
* NiceGuy: He's a simple, amicable, and hardworking fellow who is eager to learn more about his planet of origin after having been the only Earthling living on Planet Zed for years.
* SpaceTrucker: Has elements of this in him, complete with the slight Southern drawl.
* SweetHomeAlabama: He was originally from the American South and still carries a lot of it in him, but he's very much a good-natured fellow who just longs to know about his birth planet after having been unsure as to where he came from for decades.
* TransplantedHumans: A mutated variant of this, and the only one living on Planet Zed.

!! Eldina Thinth
Eldina is Voona's long-lost mother and the secret identity of Captain Comet, the most wanted space pirate in GASP and captain of the Nebula Queen. Fierce and brave like her daughter, she left Tardell when Voona was a baby due to their opposite statuses as a respected politician and a notorious criminal dooming their love for each other and putting them at risk - something that deeply saddens her.

* ActionGirl: She's a strong, fearless, and beautiful woman who also happens to be the most wanted space pirate in GASP.
* BenevolentBoss: Is this towards her crew, being a fair and merciful leader, despite the fact she has plundered unimaginable trillions worth of loot across the galaxy.
* CoolHelmet: It conceals her identity when she's Captain Comet, giving her a more masculine voice and appearance.
* DaddyHadAGoodReasonForAbandoningYou: She gave birth to Voona several months after meeting Tardell and chose to leave her with her father as she knew she - the most wanted space pirate in GASP - couldn't give her daughter a normal life, as much as it hurt her to give her up.
* LikeMotherLikeDaughter: She's almost like a grown-up Voona in personality, albeit much more in control of her emotions and less harsh towards others. Tardell himself acknowledges this.
* MissingMom: To Voona, with her disappearance being an occasionally brought-up point for the character.
* OppositesAttract: She's a wanted criminal who fell in love with a man of the law. Deconstructed however, as their relationship was doomed from the start by this, leading to their breakup - and an infant Voona being deposited at Tardell's doorstep several months later.
* RubberForeheadAliens: Like her daughter, she looks very human, albeit with hairless purple skin, pointy ears, and tentacles on her head.
* SpacePirate: Captain Comet is GASP's most wanted space pirate, with Eldina Thinth being her true identity.
* StarCrossedLovers: From the start, she and Tardell both knew their relationship was this after she rescued him from a wanted galactic gangster she was enemies with and then slowly fell in love with him.

Roger’s loving if chaotic family on Earth, who own a classic American-style diner in the small town of Armstrong, somewhere in the Midwest. They are composed of his sociable and optimistic black father Reggie; his sensible and caring white mother Rachel; his lazy and ever-hungry 19-year-old brother Ryan; and his high-strung and overachieving 16-year-old sister Ruby. They don’t normally appear, but Roger mentions them often.

Cholakites like Voona and Tardell are a human-like species with purple, hairless skin and pointy ears. Females possess semi-prehensile tentacles on their heads, whereas males are totally bald. Except for the sexual dimorphism noted, they are fairly similar to humans in biological terms and were among the earliest species to have been invited into GASP.

* Planet Zed is the sole world of the Zed System, but also the capital of the Galactic Alliance of Systems and Planets. Its surface is a rich and bustling metropolis of unimaginable vastness and diversity.
* Planet Zed's population is over 8 trillion. This staggering number can be approximately divided into 6 trillion aliens belonging to countless species and 2 trillion robots of all sorts of designs from across the universe.
* Planet Zed was once a featureless world, but was made capital of GASP as its location was secure and neutral. It became the vibrant world it is today after a century of advanced terraforming.
* Planet Zed orbits a star similar to our Sun and has an atmosphere and climate compatible with most species (the sky is indigo-violet as a result). However, its rotation and orbit are opposite of Earth’s.
* Planet Zed has eight moons, all terraformed to serve purposes that can’t be done on Planet Zed, such as military bases, waste management plants, and penitentiaries. One moon is covered entirely in an amusement park!

* GASP is a democracy, in which a president is elected once every ten years for a single term. The president leads galactic politics (the highest level of GASP politics) and runs Planet Zed with help from the city’s administrators.

* CityOfAdventure: Planet Zed. When you're dealing with a planet-sprawling metropolis populated by trillions of aliens and robots from across the universe, it's bound to be this.
* CityPlanet: Planet Zed itself. A lot of the problems that come with such a planet are justified by the fact that it is in fact artificially terraformed.

* LoadsAndLoadsOfRaces: There are individuals of countless alien species inhabiting Planet Zed, so naturally, this is present.

* SingleBiomePlanet: A lot of such places are visited in the series, with Planet Zed itself also being example (albeit justified by advanced terraforming).

* StarfishAliens: There are plenty of aliens on Planet Zed with these kinds of appearances.

* TheReptilians: Karak is based on this archetype.

* MinnesotaNice: The Rockets are a simply, amicable Midwest American family.

Glorgo is a thoroughly nasty bully, troublemaker, and juvenile delinquent who attends Andromeda Secondary School and antagonizes Roger and others. He is a large gasbag-like alien from the planet Jorvon 6 with three eyes and multiple tentacles. While he behaves in an affable manner, he makes no effort to hide his love of hurting or intimidating others, and possesses a short temper that makes him terrifying when enraged.

* BigGuyLittleGuy: The Big Guy to Karak's Little Guy.
* TheBully: A card-carrying example, with terrorizing the other students around the school being his most common pastime.
* {{Delinquents}}: He loves wreaking havoc and causing trouble in school and outside of it.
* DisproportionateRetribution:
* FauxAffablyEvil: He usually tends to act calmly and politely, but also makes it as obvious as possible to his victims that he wants to hurt and intimidate them.
* HairTriggerTemper: He is very easily offended and quickly sheds his affable attitude when it occurs.
* {{Jerkass}}: He's a cruel, bad-tempered, and sadistic bully with a vengeful attitude, a truly terrifying rage problem, and a love of intimidating others.

* UnstoppableRage: Anyone who makes him mad will quickly find that he is far scarier and more vengeful when his usual calm and crafty persona melts away.

Karak is Glorgo's henchman, every bit as mean and nasty as his master, whom he is almost always seen alongside and assisting in causing trouble. He is a small reptilian alien from the planet Trokto with camouflage and wall-climbing abilities. Insane and sadistic, Karak finds it hilarious to see others being humiliated, frightened, and emotionally hurt, with his sole redeeming quality perhaps being his sycophantic loyalty to Glorgo.

* BigGuyLittleGuy: The Little Guy to Glorgo's Big Guy.
* TheBully: Both of he and Glorgo are the series' resident "bad kids".
* CloudCuckoolander: He is a cackling lunatic who tends to move erratically, finds almost everything hilarious, and is more than a little hyperactive.
* {{Delinquents}}: Like Glorgo, he has a habit of engaging in unethical or even criminal activities, ranging from vandalism to theft.
* TheHyena: He frequently giggles and cackles, especially at others' misfortunes.

She is prim, proper, and utterly enamoured with her job, but also a highly intelligent and compassionate woman knowledgeable in an impressive array of subjects.

Insane and sadistic, Karak finds it hilarious to see others being humiliated, frightened, and emotionally hurt, with his sole redeeming quality perhaps being his sycophantic loyalty to Glorgo.

!! Glorgo and Karak
Glorgo and Karak are a thoroughly nasty pair of bullies, troublemakers, and juvenile delinquents who attend Andromeda Secondary School. Glorgo is a large gasbag alien from the planet Jovon 6 with three eyes, tentacles, and a foul temper. Karak is a small reptilian alien from the planet Trokto with camouflage abilities and questionable sanity. The two frequently antagonize Roger, his friends, and many others.

* TheBully: Both of them are the series' resident "bad kids", with terrorizing the other students being their most common pastime.
* CloudCuckoolander: Karak is a cackling lunatic who finds others' suffering hilarious, tends to move erratically, and is more than a little hyperactive.
* {{Jerkass}}: Both of them, but Glorgo especially sticks out, as he's a cruel, bad-tempered, and sadistic bully with a rude attitude and a love of intimidating others.
* TheReptilians: Karak is based on this archetype.

* ThoseTwoBadGuys: They're almost always seen together, with Glorgo being the heartless, mean-spirited leader and Karak effectively acting as his crazy, sycophantic henchman.

!! Integer
Integer is a student at Andromeda Secondary School who loves making different kinds of collections. She is a golden humanoid robot with extendable arms and a single ponytail-like antenna on the back of her head. Kind and cheerful, she is strangely nurturing and protective towards the things she collects. Calculus sports a huge crush on her, despite her collecting obsession sometimes causing conflict with Roger.

!! Jovon 6
Jovon 6 is a gas giant noted in GASP for being one of the few of such worlds capable of sustaining complex life. As a gas giant, it has no solid ground, so most of the planet's structures (constructed by visitors from other worlds for visitors from other worlds) levitate in the upper atmosphere, safe from the intense weather of the lower reaches.

Jovon Gasbags like Glorgo are one of the less humanoid species represented in GASP, instead resembling giant bloated jellyfish with gelatinous green bodies, three eyes, and several tentacles sprouting from their spherical mass. They are notable in GASP history in that they asked to join GASP after learning of its existence rather than being invited in.

!! Circuit and Trezz
Circuit and Trezz are typical examples of Planet Zed's poorest who Roger and his friends often encounter. Circuit is a stout green robot with pincer hands and a head encased in a glass dome who runs a used junk store. Trezz is his adopted daughter and a small alien of unknown origin resembling a cat mixed with a lemur but with a robotic left hand. She is a very young girl who will do any work to make her father more money.

!! Trezz's Species
Every so often in the history of GASP, individuals of unknown species show up in the record. Most of these individuals came to GASP from non-GASP worlds as refugees, slaves, abductees, and other methods associated with the criminal underworld and under-the-radar travel. Sadly, these individuals are often the only ones of their kind ever recorded.

Trezz's species are a small species with black-and-white fur resembling cats but with several features strongly reminiscent of lemurs, particularly the aye-aye. From what has been observed, her species is very agile, possessing great climbing and leaping abilities, as well as a talent for dexterity. Trezz is the only one of her species known.

Modem and Trigonometric are Calculus’ "parents", as well as friends and neighbors to Gaitha and Zemir. They are inventors who make a living by designing hi-tech products for big businesses to sell. Modem is Calculus' "dad", tall and lean with a single wheeled leg and a somewhat world-weary attitude. Trigonometric is Calculus' "mom", a spherical, hovering robot with multiple arms and a bubbly personality.

Tardell is Voona’s father, and he also happens to be one of the most esteemed ambassadors in GASP. But for all his negotiation skills, charisma, and open-minded thinking, Tardell has trouble bonding with his daughter, who sees her political family as embarrassing, though deep down she does love him very much. As a male Cholakite, he lacks his daughter’s tentacle hair and is totally bald.

He is an eager explorer, a wannabe space hero, and a fantastic cook all rolled in one.

Calculus is Roger’s well-mannered robot buddy, a tin can on wheels whose tiny body is packed with dozens of tools and gadgets for every situation he and his friends could possibly get in. Always prepared for the worst-case scenario, Calculus possesses both an endless curiosity for the universe's countless wonders and a great sense of caution for its equally infinite dangers.

Voona is Roger’s other friend, a lovely alien girl from the planet Cholak with pointy ears, tentacles for hair, and a short temper. The rebellious daughter of a respected GASP diplomat, Voona is a skilled martial artist never afraid to say what’s on her mind. Despite her rough and tough image, Voona is also an animal lover with a protective compassion for all creatures great and small.

Droggs is Voona’s pet Scuttling Sectile, an iguana-like creature from Cholak with six legs, compound eyes, a long tongue, and a parrot-like beak. Although Droggs is considered repulsive by many, especially Calculus, who cannot stand him, Voona and Droggs share a strong mutual affection for each other.

Originating from the planet Elan, Zemir is extremely fat and possesses four arms and four eyes, which help him as both a mechanic and a licensed starship pilot. Boisterous yet easygoing, Zemir loves being in the midst of the wildest and loudest events, but despite his lowbrow interests, he is very intelligent and knows a lot of useful things.

Tardell is Voona’s father, and he also happens to be one of the most esteemed ambassadors in GASP. * Planet Zed is the sole world of the Zed System, but also the capital of the Galactic Alliance of Systems and Planets. Its surface is a rich and bustling metropolis of unimaginable vastness.
* Planet Zed's population is over 8 trillion. This staggering number can be approximately divided into 6 trillion aliens belonging to countless species and 2 trillion robots of all sorts of designs.

* Planet Zed orbits a star similar to our Sun and has an atmosphere and climate compatible with most species (the sky is indigo-violet as a result). Its rotation and orbit are opposite of Earth’s.
* Additionally, Planet Zed also has eight moons, all terraformed to serve purposes that can’t be done on Planet Zed, such as military bases, waste management plants, and penitentiaries.
* The Galactic Alliance of Systems and Planets (GASP) is a political organization that guides itself on peace, unity, equality, progress, and liberty. It is a bit like the Federation from Star Trek.

* Whenever a new world is added, GASP initiates an enormous exchange of technology and ideas, allowing for the growth of technology (especially in GASP robotics), society, and culture for all.
* GASP is a democracy, in which a president is elected once every ten years for a single term. The president leads galactic politics and runs Planet Zed with help from the city’s administrators.
* The official language of GASP is Galactic Standard, a planet-neutral language that is intended to be easy to speak for almost all species. By sheer coincidence, it is the exact same as English.
